Morning light streamed through the living room blinds, casting patches of light of varying lengths on the floor.
Luo Shuning and Shen Qingling sat facing each other, their knees almost level, their eyes occasionally meeting in the air—Shen Qingling's eyes were sharp as knives, carrying a hint of confident provocation; Luo Shuning's eyes, on the other hand, were gentle as jade soaked in warm water, seemingly harmless, yet concealing an unshakable confidence.
The tea on the coffee table had cooled down considerably, with fine water droplets condensing on the cup walls and sliding down the sides.
Luo Shuning finished the last sip of tea in her cup, the porcelain cup making a soft clinking sound as it collided with the coffee table.
As she set down the cup, her fingertips lightly brushed the rim, then she smiled gently, her eyes crinkling into a soft arc: "Thank you for the tea, sister. Judging from your haste, you probably haven't had breakfast yet, have you?"
Before Shen Qingling could reply, Luo Shuning slowly stood up, her loose T-shirt falling down with the movement, revealing her slender ankles.
She had just taken half a step when, as if suddenly remembering something, she turned to look at the people on the sofa, her tone casual as if she were chatting: "By the way, Xiaobao and Xiaoman are still catching up on sleep in the bedroom. We've all taken the day off and plan to 'play' at home all day."
