Chapter 594 Everything Will Be Alright (1/2)

Chapter 594 Everything Will Be Alright The twilight, like ink that cannot be dissolved, gradually spread across the sky. The streetlights along the roadside lit up one after another, and the warm yellow light shone through the car window, casting shimmering spots of light on the black leather seats.

The black sedan drove exceptionally smoothly, the sound of its tires rolling over the asphalt almost inaudible, yet the two people in the back seat sat on either side of each other, separated as if by an invisible line.

Luo Shuning rested her elbow on the car window sill, her fingertips lightly touching the cool glass. The bustling traffic outside rushed past, and the neon lights cast interplay of light and shadow on her face.

She didn't look at Luo Liang beside her; her gaze remained fixed on the view outside the window.

Luo Liang, Gu Feng, and Tang Qi had already discussed and laid out their past grievances with these younger people. Now, when they were alone with Luo Liang, there was an awkwardness in the air and an invisible pressure weighing on their hearts.

Luo Liang sat upright with her hands folded on her knees, her fingers unconsciously fiddling with the buttons on her trench coat.

The strong woman's heart was far from calm.

She glanced at Luo Shuning's profile out of the corner of her eye, wanting to say something, but swallowed the words back.

The little girl who once desperately tried to win awards in order to find her "mother" has now grown into a capable young woman. There is a distance between them that is greater than the distance between a car seat.

"Could you find some time to talk to me properly about Ya's mother?" After an unknown amount of time, Luo Shuning suddenly spoke, her voice as soft as the wind in the twilight, yet clearly reaching Luo Liang's ears.

Luo Liang was slightly taken aback, then fell silent, with only the faint sound of the air conditioning vents remaining in the carriage.

A few seconds later, he nodded slightly, his voice slightly hoarse:

"good."

Gu Feng, sitting in the front row, secretly observed this scene through the rearview mirror and couldn't help but sigh inwardly.

When Luo Shuning got into the car, she just nodded slightly to me in the driver's seat, without even calling me "uncle".

He knew he couldn't blame the child—he had openly and secretly sided with Luo Shuhe, becoming her strongest support, so Luo Shuning couldn't help but feel some resentment.

But seeing his once close daughter now so distant, he couldn't help but sigh.

How come there are so many upsetting things happening in such a nice home?

The car drove smoothly for twenty minutes before finally stopping in front of a villa covered in ivy.

The porch lights at the villa entrance were on, casting a warm glow on the stone steps. Tang Qi was standing at the door waiting, wearing a beige knitted cardigan and holding Lin Mengyun, who was wrapped in a pink jacket, in her arms. The little girl's head was nestled in the crook of Tang Qi's neck, and her round eyes were curiously watching the approaching car.

The moment Luo Shuning opened the car door, the calmness on her face vanished, replaced by a bright, sunny smile.

She walked over quickly, her voice softening slightly: "Grandma, Xiaojunjun."

"Sister Ning!" Lin Mengyun's eyes lit up as soon as she saw her. She broke free from Tang Qi's embrace and opened her small arms for a hug.

Luo Shuning bent down and caught her steadily, kissing her soft little face. The little one giggled and hugged her neck tightly with her little arms.

Luo Shuning, holding Lin Mengyun, simply turned back and nodded slightly to Luo Liang and Gu Feng in the car before taking the lead and walking briskly into the villa.

Tang Qi nodded slightly to Luo Liang in the back row, waved to Gu Feng, and then turned to follow Luo Shuning. Her skirt swept across the stone steps, leaving a soft sound.

Luo Liang sat in the car, quietly watching the three figures leave—Luo Shuning held the child gently, Tang Qi walked beside her, occasionally raising his hand to tidy her wind-blown hair, and Lin Mengyun's laughter drifted out through the open villa door. The scene was so warm that it made her feel empty inside.

"It's okay, everything will be alright," Gu Feng said softly, reaching for the gearshift and gently pressing the accelerator.

The black sedan slowly drove away from the villa and merged back into the bustling evening rush hour traffic in Caizhou. The light from the streetlights shimmered on the car, like scattered gold dust.

Warm light streamed through the carved pillars of the villa's living room. Luo Shuning sat on the carpet with Lin Mengyun in her arms, a colorful building block between her fingers as she helped the little one build a "princess castle."

Little Junjun's soft hair brushed against her neck, her chubby little hands grasped her index finger, and after each layer was completed, she looked up for praise, her round eyes curving into crescents: "Sister Ning, our castle is prettier than the one at school!"

"Of course, Xiaoyun's cooking is the best." Luo Shuning kissed her soft cheek, making the little one giggle.
