Chapter 610 Online and Offline (2/2)

Will we win?

If I really win, will Xiaoman congratulate me?

On the other side...

"Gu Shen, you're finally back from leave...!"

"You have no idea how unpleasant it is for me to look at the boys when you're not around; they're all so ugly..."

"Gu Luo, where have you guys been these past few days?"

"........"

Gu Luo had just settled into his seat, stuffed his schoolbag into the desk drawer, and hadn't even had a chance to take out his textbooks when the female classmates nearby started chattering and asking questions.

Just as he finished dealing with the situation, a light footstep stopped in front of his desk.

Yang Huihui braced herself against the edge of his desk with one hand, leaning slightly forward. The hem of her school uniform skirt swayed playfully with her movements, and a mischievous smile was on her face.

"Gu Shen," she deliberately dragged out her words, her eyes curving into crescents, "is it because there's no joint exam today that you're going to keep asking for leave to avoid any peace and quiet?"

Gu Luo smiled upon hearing this, tapped the table with his fingertips, and said in a relaxed tone, "Not really, it was just a coincidence."

He wasn't lying. If he really wanted to take leave, he wouldn't hesitate to ask for leave, let alone this so-called joint exam. Even if it were the final exam, he would still dare to ask for leave if there was something important.

As I looked up, I caught a glimpse of Yang Huihui's eyes quickly sweeping across Shen Qingling's seat diagonally in front of me. Her inquisitive look clearly indicated that she had heard about the rumors on campus.

Instead of pressing the issue of the scandal, Yang Huihui gestured with her chin to the window seat in the front row—Lin Han was engrossed in doing practice problems, looking very serious.

“Look at Hanhan,” Yang Huihui said in a lower voice, with a hint of teasing, “To surpass Luo Shuning from Guangya, your academic superstar sister, she’s been working herself to the bone, doing practice problems until the early hours of the morning, putting in more than ten times the effort. I bet she’ll get first place in this joint exam.”

Upon hearing this, Gu Luo paused for a moment. He knew that Luo Shuning had taken a leave of absence from school because of her career, but there was no need to tell outsiders about it.

He raised an eyebrow and countered, "Why can't I be number one?"

Upon hearing this, Yang Huihui reacted as if she had heard the biggest joke in the world. She immediately raised her hand to cover her mouth, her shoulders shaking uncontrollably, and laughter leaked out from between her fingers.

"Gu Shen, stop joking," she finally managed to stop laughing, tears still glistening in the corners of her eyes. "Lately, you've been making headlines with rumors of dating and scandals, taking leave every few days. You're not focused on your studies at all. How do you expect to outperform Hanhan, who's putting in all her effort?"

Yang Huihui paused deliberately, then leaned closer, her voice sweet and cloying, tinged with provocation: "But I'll make a bet with you. If you really get first place in the joint entrance exam, I'll be your bed warmer, serving you tea and water, massaging your shoulders, and taking care of you whenever you call!"

The phrase "eat and take" in these words is ostensibly a bet, but it also reveals the young girl's ulterior motives.

It's a pity the model isn't good enough. If it had Lin Han's looks, temperament, and figure, she would have pounced on it long ago.

Gu Luo didn't respond to that, afraid of making things more complicated, so he simply changed the subject, took out his phone from his pocket and waved it: "Did you know that Tang Qi is having a concert this month?"

Yang Huihui's eyes lit up instantly, all her teasing tone vanished, and she nodded repeatedly, her voice rising a few decibels: "Of course I know! Hanhan and I are both her die-hard fans, and we used several phones to try and snag tickets, finally managing to get tickets for the inner field!"

She got more and more excited as she talked, and even gestured with her hand: "By the way, Tang Qi posted a short video a couple of days ago saying that she would invite a mystery guest for the last song. I guess it might be Lin Yi-shen? Gu Shen, who do you think it will be?"

"I have no idea."

Gu Luo smiled and shook his head, thinking to himself, "Of course you are the female academic genius Luo Shuning that I just mentioned."

No, you should call her by her stage name—Luo Ningning.

The two chatted casually about the concert details for a few more minutes when suddenly the sound of a teacher's footsteps came from the corridor. Then, a teacher carrying a stack of test papers appeared at the classroom door.

Yang Huihui stuck out her tongue in fright, mouthed "remember the bet" to Gu Luo, then turned around and ran back to her seat like a nimble little rabbit. She almost bumped into the table leg when she sat down, which made the surrounding classmates secretly laugh.

Gu Luo watched her retreating figure, shook his head helplessly, and felt both amused and exasperated.

Yang Huihui was a recognized goddess at school. Even someone as beautiful as Lin Han couldn't completely overshadow her charm. She had many boys pursuing her, and the love letters she received could fill a book. But why was her personality so... a female hooligan?

He pulled himself out of his thoughts, wondering if Xiaoman's grades would slip, given all the recent events and changes.
