He's causing trouble
The winter snow melts, everything revives, the grass in the mountains grows lush, and the willows by the lake are as green as waves.
The spring breeze blew slowly, and Mo Xue finally received news from his old friend.
"See you at the mouth of the abyss at midnight tonight." After reading it, Mo Xue clicked his tongue and wondered why he chose such a dark place.
At this moment, footsteps sounded from outside the door and gradually approached.
Mo Xue quickly rolled the letter into a ball and burned it with spiritual fire. The flames climbed up the letter, but before it was completely burned, Bai Linchuan approached, "What are you doing?"
"Nothing." Mo Xue blinked, put his hand on the table, and quickly threw the unburned letter into the corner of the table. Bai Linchuan didn't think about this case for a long time.
Mo Xie raised his eyes and said, "Master, why are you back?"
Bai Linchuan glanced over and lingered on Mo Xue for a long time. That look made Mo Xue's heart tremble with fear, but Bai Linchuan withdrew his gaze in an instant and said calmly: "We have finished the discussion. The sect competition will be held in three days. Master asked you and I to do our best."
Mo Xie smiled and stood up, "Got it, has the opponent come out yet? Let's go and check it out."
Bai Linchuan glanced at Mo Xue again. When did he become so enthusiastic about the competition? Mo Xue took his hand and
Bai Linchuan stopped where he was and said, "Mo Xue, do you still remember what you promised me?"
Mo Xie smiled with curved eyebrows and pointed fangs, "What's wrong? This is... Of course I remember, I promise... I will behave myself from now on and never cause trouble."
When Mo Xue thought of this, he felt a pain in his buttocks. It was a winter night and the fire was burning very brightly.
Bai Linchuan didn't know what happened. Maybe the blood parasite had taken effect and was particularly cruel. It pressed him down on the bed and forced him to talk a lot of nonsense. However, after he woke up, he had almost forgotten everything.
Bai Linchuan looked at Mo Xue's dimples and recalled his tearful cries that night:
"I will behave myself from now on... and never cause any trouble..."
"You promise."
"I promise……"
"Never leave me, never push me away, no matter what happens!"
"Okay, okay, I promise... I will never leave you... you! Be gentle~"
"you love me."
"Yeah~ I love you..."
"You lied again."
“…”
"What are you thinking about?" Mo Xue snapped his fingers, staring at Bai Linchuan with his dark eyes, as if he wanted to see his thoughts through his eyes.
Bai Linchuan looked away guiltily, "Let's go."
Under the warm sun, disciples crowded into the competition arena, and green grass grew out from the cracks in the blue bricks.
Mo Xue squeezed to the front of the notice board and looked at the densely packed list of competitions.
Although the sect competition is to chase the first place, it is also for the sake of excitement, following the principle of masters fighting each other and novices fighting each other.
Bai Linchuan's name was listed first, and his opponent was Tai Shuhan. Mo Xue's name was at the bottom of the signboard, and his opponent was Xu Hu.
Mo Xue squeezed out of the crowd again. Bai Linchuan stood quietly in the distance. Mo Xue walked up to him and asked, "Who is Tai Shuhan?"
Bai Linchuan frowned slightly, "Is he your opponent?"
Mo Xie shook his head, "You are competing with him."
Bai Linchuan breathed a sigh of relief, "He is the son of Elder Taishu Haokuo. He is his disciple. In the last competition..." Bai Linchuan thought for a while and finally dug out from his long memories, "He lost to me."
Mo Xue opened his mouth in surprise, "You are so amazing, Xian He'er."
Bai Linchuan lowered his head and raised the corners of his mouth slightly.
As the two of them passed the competition notice board and headed out, Bai Linchuan asked, "Who is your opponent?"
Mo Xie replied: "It doesn't matter what his name is, Xu Hu..."
The two figures gradually walked away and disappeared from the competition field, but the sound of their conversation drifted into the crowd and was blown away by the wind in an instant. However, there was one person who heard it clearly and remembered it firmly in his heart.
Xu Hu, who was standing in front of the sign, turned around and stared at Mo Xue and the other man as they disappeared through the archway.
Mo Xue and Bai Linchuan walked out of the archway. The banyan trees on both sides were growing vigorously, and the lush greenery was swaying in the spring breeze.
Mo Xue propped his head up with his hands, basking in the sunlight. He continued, "Win or lose, it doesn't matter." He turned to look at Bai Linchuan, "Do you want me to win?"
Bai Linchuan said quietly: "Just don't cheat or play tricks."
Mo Xue laughed loudly, and Bai Linchuan's eyes were filled with joy.
On the competition field.
"Hey, Xu Hu, your opponent is Mo Xue." Duan Qing next to him pushed Xu Hu's shoulder and said.
Xu Hu's face fell as gloomy as iron, and he said in a low voice, "I heard it."
Duan Qing said, "If you ask me, losing to Mo Xue is worse than losing to Bai Linchuan. After all, you lost to the sect's number one. However... you did get to see the sect's inherited swordsmanship. It's not unfair for you to lose to him."
Xu Hu clenched his fists, his fingers turning blue and crackling. He glanced at Duan Qing with the whites of his eyes and said through gritted teeth, "Who said he would definitely win?"
Duan Qing was stunned for a moment, then suddenly smiled and said, "Mo Xue's cultivation may not surpass yours, but don't forget, he has Bai Linchuan behind him."
Duan Qing's smile was fixed on his face, sticky as he looked at Xu Hu. Xu Hu's eyebrows were gloomy and he lowered them silently.
Night fell quickly and darkness slowly enveloped the earth.
Bai Linchuan was sprinkling rice grains in the backyard. After a winter of hiding its light, the titmouse had turned into a round ball, with its feathers puffed up, and was eating the rice grains on the ground.
Mo Xue suddenly came out, took a handful and sprinkled it with him. Bai Linchuan paused slightly and looked at Mo Xue calmly.
Mo Xie laughed and said, "I think they won't need to fly anymore. They can just roll around. If they get fatter... we can eat them."
Fortunately, tits cannot understand human language, so they have fewer worries and only know how to eat and sleep. After they are full, they flap their wings happily and fly away.
Mo Xue and Bai Linchuan entered the room. Mo Xue sat down at the table, poured two cups of tea, picked up one and took a sip leisurely.
"This tea is good," he said.
Bai Linchuan picked up another cup and took a sip. When he raised his eyes, he saw that the corners of Mo Xue's mouth seemed to rise slightly.
Bai Linchuan hummed lightly and drank half a cup of tea, actually pouring it all into his sleeves.
He said, "This is tea from two years ago. If you like tea, I'll ask the housekeeper to bring up some new tea."
Mo Xue took a sip and asked, "Is there any difference?"
Bai Linchuan put down the empty teacup and forced a smile, "It's late, let's get some rest."
"Oh..." Mo Xie looked at the empty teacup and nodded.
Mo Xie was sleeping soundly in Bai Linchuan's arms, breathing evenly. Bai Linchuan held him, his eyes half-closed, and secretly complained in his heart: "What on earth does he want to do?"
By midnight, the sound of birds singing continued to be heard, but Mo Xue was still sleeping soundly, with no sign of waking up. Bai Linchuan got out of bed, walked to the table, bent down, and fumbled with the table, but there was nothing inside.
He had no choice but to lie back down, wide awake and unable to sleep.
However, that night... nothing happened.
When Mo Xue woke up in the morning, Bai Linchuan was still asleep. He smiled and stretched out his hand, touching the corner of his mouth. An incompatible smile appeared on his glacier-like face. Mo Xue thought to himself, how fake his smile was.
Mo Xue didn't call him. He pried his arms apart and got out of bed. Bai Linchuan suddenly woke up, and before he even opened his eyelids, he shouted, "Where are you going?"
Mo Xue said, "Practice."
Bai Linchuan finally woke up completely. The daylight came in and he sat up dejectedly. Could it be that he was worrying too much?
But he did not let his guard down easily. That day, no matter where Mo Xue went, he followed him everywhere and never left his side.
In the evening, Mo Xie said he was going out for a while and would be back soon. Bai Linchuan suddenly became wary and insisted on following him, but Mo Xie tried his best to dissuade him, "I will be back soon. Why are you acting like a puppy? Look, I will be back before the hourglass runs out."
In order to prove that he was not a puppy, Bai Linchuan stayed at home. He stared at the hourglass. In a quarter of an hour, Mo Xue could not run far and could not do anything.
Bai Linchuan paced back and forth, gazing at the thick night. Finally, before the hourglass ran out, a figure vaguely appeared on the distant road. Mo Xue came running back, still panting slightly. "How is it? Did you stay within the time limit?"
The hourglass had run out when his figure appeared, and a few more breaths passed when he ran in the door.
But Bai Linchuan looked at the thin layer of sweat on his forehead and said in a muffled voice, "No."
The sweat dried up quickly in the evening breeze, and Mo Xue handed Bai Linchuan a box tied with cloth.
Bai Linchuan opened it and saw that there were sugar cookies inside, sprinkled with beautiful sugar crystals.
Mo Xue spread his hands and said with a smile, "Qi Sanjiang gave it to me. Elder Qi Yun went down the mountain and brought him two boxes of biscuits. He said he wanted to give me one box, so I just went to get it."
Bai Linchuan frowned slightly. Elder Qi Yun was very strict with his children, so why would he buy sugar-coated biscuits for Qi Sanjiang? What's more, Qi Sanjiang was addicted to sugar, so why would he share it with Mo Xue?
Mo Xie smiled and pushed the sugar biscuit in front of Bai Linchuan, "Try it quickly."
Bai Linchuan tentatively took a small piece and tasted it. Mo Xue gave another quick evil smile, as if he had succeeded in doing something bad.
Bai Linchuan's doubts continued to accumulate, forming one tangled knot after another. He asked, "Why don't you eat?"
Mo Xie smiled and said, "I just ate it. It's so sweet."
Bai Linchuan paused and took another bite, "Really? I think it's quite delicious."
Mo Xie smiled and said, "Then eat more. This box is all yours."
Bai Linchuan ate a whole piece, and Mo Xue breathed a sigh of relief, with a satisfied smile on his face.
Bai Linchuan was certain that Mo Xue was up to something. Before going to bed, he swallowed a detoxification pill, a dispersing spirit pill, and a barrier-clearing pill. No matter what kind of poison, drug, or barrier drug it was, it could be neutralized.
He kept his eyelids open to stay awake.
Yet…another night passed and nothing happened.
The chirping in the early morning woke Mo Xie up. Bai Linchuan was sleeping so soundly that he didn't wake up even when Mo Xie got out of bed. The loud noise when Mo Xie opened the door woke him up.
Before Bai Linchuan could say anything, Mo Xue took the initiative and asked, "What's wrong with you recently?"
Bai Linchuan grabbed the quilt with his hands and sat up with difficulty. His mind was a mess. One voice was saying: He was worrying too much, while another voice was saying: Look at Mo Xue's triumphant smirk, he must be up to something.
Suddenly, a warm hand was placed on his forehead. Mo Xie leaned down and checked his body temperature. "You seem to have a slight fever."
Bai Linchuan shook his head and indeed felt dizzy. Perhaps he had taken too much antidote last night.
Mo Xue caressed the hair on his cheek affectionately and said, "Tomorrow is the sect's competition. Why don't you take a day off today?"
Bai Linchuan rubbed Mo Xu's palm, and finally the previous voice defeated the next one.
He lay down, and Mo Xue covered him with the quilt, pressed the corner of the quilt, and said softly: "I'll go to the pharmacy to buy you some medicine, and I'll be back soon."
Bai Linchuan nodded, watched Mo Xue walk out, and slowly closed the door.
He lay there quietly, not noticing that the doors and windows of the house were all closed. In the corner of the wall, a stick of incense was emitting faint white smoke.
Bai Linchuan stared blankly at the direction where Mo Xue left, feeling his eyelids growing heavier and heavier...
Mo Xue walked out of the door and breathed a sigh of relief. It was really not easy to get rid of Bai Linchuan's gaze. It was worth his two days of effort.
If he wanted to keep to himself, he wouldn't be Mo Xue.
He walked quickly towards the abyss.
Little did he know that besides Bai Linchuan, there was another pair of eyes secretly watching him.
