When Fang Yunyun returned home that night and learned about this, she actually blamed Fang Zhiyi: "Dad, you were so mean to me when I was a kid, and you never stood on my side! What if you scared Xiaoqun?"
Fang Zhiyi lowered his head and said nothing.
Chen Xiaoqun was a picky eater. He threw vegetables on the ground and even splashed oil on Fang Zhiyi. Fang Zhiyi wanted to teach him a lesson about wasting food, but Chen Cai, as if deliberately irritating him, stuffed a lot of meat into Chen Xiaoqun's bowl: "If you don't like vegetables, we can eat meat! It's not like we don't have the conditions! Eat!"
"I can't..." Fang Zhiyi hadn't finished speaking when Fang Yunyun interrupted him: "Dad, you're doing it again. When I was a kid, you hit my hand with chopsticks because I didn't like eating vegetables. I still remember it! Can you please stop forcing your grandson?"
Fang Zhiyi shut his mouth.
In the middle of the night, Chen Cai came back from outside and woke Fang Yunyun up noisily, saying that he wanted to take her to watch the sunrise. Chen Xiaoqun, who was woken up, was itching to join in, but Fang Zhiyi stopped him: "You have to go to school tomorrow, go to bed quickly."
Unexpectedly, Chen Xiaoqun pouted and started crying. His crying attracted the drunken Chen Cai. He glanced at the bewildered Fang Zhiyi and took his son's hand: "Come on, Daddy will take you out to play!"
Fang Zhiyi felt powerless. The next day, Chen Xiaoqun couldn't get out of bed. Fang Zhiyi could only ask for leave from the teacher with a smile, but was scolded by the teacher again. The teacher said that Chen Xiaoqun was naughty in the class, bullying classmates, and his grades plummeted.
Fang Zhiyi wanted to take care of the child, but he couldn't. Although he was the one taking care of the child, Fang Yunyun and her husband were like ghosts, always appearing when he was educating the child, and then blaming him. Over time, Chen Xiaoqun began to dislike this outsider and even spit at him.
Until one day, Chen Cai drank a little wine, and suddenly said to the other party with a flattering face: "Dad, I heard Yunyun say that you are going to give this house to her?"
Fang Zhiyi nodded.
"Hey, why bother? Yunyun will be given to Xiaoqun in the future. Why don't you just give it to Xiaoqun directly? I know two friends who can help you with the paperwork in no time. How about that?"
Fang Zhiyi looked at him. If his daughter hadn't married this man, he would have given the house to her long ago. Why wait until now? Seeing Fang Zhiyi not speaking, Chen Cai became a little impatient: "Dad, please say something. I still have to find someone!"
When Fang Yunyun returned home, the house was already filled with Chen Cai's roar.
"I told you to give it to your grandson, but you only have this one grandson, and he's not for me. Why are you still reluctant to give him up? Do you have another illegitimate child outside?"
Fang Zhiyi's face turned pale and he covered his chest with one hand.
Fang Yunyun rushed in. When Chen Cai saw her, he immediately stepped forward and said something.
Fang Yunyun's tone was also not good: "Dad, you are already this old, why are you holding the house in your hands? Are you afraid that we will not care about you?"
"No..." Fang Zhiyi looked at his daughter, his heart sank, because he always felt that now was not the right time, and he did not trust this son-in-law.
After this quarrel, the atmosphere at home reached freezing point.
Even Chen Xiaoqun had completely lost respect for Fang Zhiyi, and sometimes would even wave his little fists to hit him.
That afternoon, Fang Zhiyi was cleaning the stairs, thinking about the house. In a trance, the broom fell to the ground. He bent down to pick it up, but was suddenly pushed from behind, and Fang Zhiyi rolled down the stairs.
He opened his eyes in a daze and saw Chen Xiaoqun standing at the stairs. He said angrily, "I told you not to give me the house!" Fang Zhiyi wanted to call for help, but only made a weak sound. Just as his eyes went dark, he saw two familiar figures walking out.
