Chapter 6: The Framed Tool General 6 (1/2)

"Wait."

Liu Wenhui never imagined that just as she was packing her bags, she heard from the servants that the emperor had opened the gate and surrendered.

"What? Is he a fool?" Liu Wenhui couldn't help but curse.

The servant was shocked at first by his words scolding the emperor, and then said cautiously: "It is said that the rebels captured the emperor's most beloved Liu Guxia..."

Liu Wenhui's body softened. He knew that now that the capital was controlled by Fang Zhiyi, his actions might be discovered. Then...

Fang Zhiyi stood in the main hall, with his hands behind his back, looking at the court officials standing below.

Whoever he targeted would break out in a cold sweat. Why didn't I find this guy so scary before?

As for the new emperor, Fang Zhiyi did what he said and let him meet Liu Guxia.

"Where is Liu Wenhui?"

The court officials looked around and saw that Liu Wenhui had taken sick leave and did not attend court yesterday, so naturally he did not come today.

"Report!" A personal guard ran in from outside, "General, someone is blocking the west gate and trying to escape. Liu Wenhui!"

"Hey!" Fang Zhiyi laughed, "Bring him back to me... in perfect condition."

The personal guards bowed and accepted the order, although they didn't understand why the general said it was neat and tidy. Maybe it just meant that not a single hair should be lost?

Seeing Fang Zhiyi fiddling around and touching each other on the dragon table, an old minister finally couldn't help himself.

"General Fang! Your behavior is no different from that of a traitor!"

Fang Zhiyi gave him a playful look, reached out and picked up the jade ruyi on the dragon table, then threw it back: "Oh? Tell me more about it."

The court officials looked at each other. How could Fang Zhiyi not lose his temper? Even the military governors standing in the front looked at him with some surprise.

The old minister took two steps forward and said, "Your father passed away, and as the eldest son, you didn't return to pay your respects. This is unfilial! You led our northern border troops into the capital under the slogan of "cleansing the imperial court." This is disloyal! You held the concubine hostage to threaten the emperor. This is unrighteous! You are a disloyal, unfilial, and unrighteous person!"

Fang Zhiyi nodded, indicating that he agreed with what he said, and then waved his hand. A personal soldier immediately ran up to him. Fang Zhiyi whispered a few words to him. The personal soldier looked surprised, then turned around and left.

"If you have anything else to say, hurry up and say it."

The court officials were somewhat bewildered. Fang Zhiyi certainly didn't seem angry! Could it be that he had a clear conscience? He had come looking for Liu Wenhui, who had just begun to flee. Could it be that Liu Wenhui had instigated the new emperor to attack the Fang family? Rumors circulated that General Fang's death was caused by unusual circumstances. Could it be...

Another courtier stepped forward steadily, bowing knowingly. "General Fang, Liu Wenhui has been apprehended, and the treacherous minister has been eliminated. Next, should you apologize to the Emperor?"

Fang Zhiyi smiled slightly: "Apologize? What crime have I committed?"
