Chapter 64 Actor 3 (2/2)

The vendor sighed. Selling children was common these days. Some families gave away their daughters to raise for money. "Don't be too sad. Just go."

"Please be kind...help me." The woman stretched out her tender hand.

The vendor hesitated, but still reached out his hand. The moment they made contact, the woman's hand suddenly snapped, grabbing the vendor's wrist! But it missed.

The woman was a little confused. She raised her head and saw half of her face was rotten, as if it had been smashed. The intact half of her face made it easy to see how beautiful she was before.

She was floating in the air at this moment, and a man with heavy stage makeup was looking at her.

Down below, the vendor screamed, "Oh my god! Ghost! Ghost!" The moment he reached out his hand, the woman vanished! If this wasn't a ghost, what could it be? He thought of a recent rumor about a female ghost who had died a violent death and was seeking revenge.

But even though he was afraid, the peddler still did not abandon his belongings. Instead, he quickly picked up his shoulder pole and ran away. You know, these two baskets of tofu could provide his family with food for several days. If he lost them, it would be worse than seeing a ghost.

The two evil spirits stared at each other in the air for a long time. Then the red girl spoke up, "Opera singer, you are meddling in other people's business. Aren't you afraid of retribution?"

Fang Zhiyi watched the vendor walk away and did not answer her. Instead, he asked, "Does he have a grudge against you?"

The ghost girl shook her head: "No."

"Oh? Then why do you want to harm him?"

The female ghost sneered: "Do ghosts need a reason to kill people? The resentment in you is much heavier than mine. Do you think you are a good ghost?"

Fang Zhiyi did not deny it, but pretended to sigh, although he had no air to sigh with now.

"I talk but no one listens, and I talk but no one makes sense. It's so difficult."

The female ghost didn't understand what he meant for a moment, but she knew it the next moment. Fang Zhiyi swung his fist as big as a casserole at her face. The punch was filled with a biting resentment, causing the female ghost, who had not felt pain for a long time, to scream in shock.

She didn't know why this fellow ghost hit her, just as she didn't know that ghosts could beat each other.

But she couldn't beat the actor in front of her.

Fang Zhiyi even took the time to tell Xiao Hei a joke: "I was just experimenting, but it reminded me of a joke."

Xiao Hei tilted his head: "What's the joke?"

"I turned into a ghost, so I wanted to hurt people. I killed a lot of people, and then... they all turned into ghosts, and they beat me. It hurt so much."

Xiao Hei seriously corrected him, "But the people you killed didn't turn into ghosts. According to my observation, ghosts need to be obsessed, unwilling, and have overwhelming resentment to stay in the human world..."

"You're so boring." Fang Zhiyi ignored it.

At this moment, the female ghost had her hands on her head and begged for mercy: "Sir, please stop hitting me! I surrender!" Although she would not be injured or die, it really hurt when Fang Zhiyi beat her.

Hearing this, Fang Zhiyi stopped and asked, "Now tell me about your peaceful past."

The ghost girl returned to her former appearance. Fang Zhiyi, feeling somewhat apprehensive, saluted and said, "My name is Xiulian."

Xiulian was a miserable person. Her father smoked opium and her mother was extremely cowardly. In order to earn money for the opium, her father sold her to Zheng the butcher for ten taels of silver without a second thought when he came to propose marriage to her.

But Xiulian did not want to marry Zheng the butcher. She had a secret love affair with a man, the village peddler. Before her wedding, the peddler found her and seduced her into taking her body with sweet words, promising to raise money and propose marriage to her family. However, on the wedding day, the peddler did not show up.

Zheng the butcher was furious when he found out that she was not a virgin. He beat her up on their wedding night and went to her house to make a big fuss, demanding the ten taels of silver from her.

Her smoker father came and beat her, while her mother watched coldly.
