"Sizzle... sizzle..."
"Attention, attention! A new type of virus is breaking out. Please be careful, *buzzing*..."
With blurry, drunken eyes, Zhao Hu looked around and asked, "Who, who's speaking?"
Chen Rui's expression gradually turned serious: "Rescue Channel!"
"Persistent high fever...bloodshot eyes...shivering...sizzling sounds...that's all...sizzling sounds...please use physical cooling methods..."
"What a piece of junk! It has a signal one minute and no signal the next," Chen Rui said, angrily slapping the radio.
"The plague really broke out?" Zhao Hu was stunned for a moment, then suddenly turned around and pulled his girlfriend up and down.
The others also checked themselves, and only breathed a sigh of relief after confirming that there were no abnormalities.
“We left the crowded area immediately, so there shouldn’t be any problems,” Fang Zhiyi said. “I just don’t know what the situation is like in the city now.”
No one asked him why he didn't warn the others earlier, because everyone knew the survivors wouldn't believe him.
In another location, Bai Haomin took out new clothes from his spatial storage and changed into them. He then lay comfortably on the soft bed, with a new radio beside him. He had stolen these before the apocalypse.
"Fools, you don't know yet, but we're about to be in big trouble." He chuckled and took a sip of his cola. Almost all the other residents in their building were dead, unlike Fang Zhiyi and the others who could still go out to find supplies. He had already ransacked the area around his place, and the survivors who went out found nothing. Hunger had made everyone's eyes bloodshot.
"I don't know how Fang Zhiyi got so lucky to survive. But once I find you, you're dead meat." Bai Haomin had already planned his course. He would pretend to be a survivor and head to a shelter in the north. Then, he would secretly "discover" some supplies to quickly improve his status and live a comfortable life for the rest of his days.
As for Fang Zhiyi, that was something that was taken care of on the way.
Fang Zhiyi and the others stopped going out. When Zhao Hu returned from his last outing, he ripped off his mask and threw it far away: "It's over, it's all over!" The whole street was full of infected people. He had personally witnessed someone being infected and then thrown off a building by a neighbor.
The pharmacy that Fang Zhiyi had originally designated was also looted, and everyone was in a panic. Zhao Hu immediately chose to return the way he came. Fang Zhiyi had said that if the situation became bad, he should come back immediately, even if he had to give up everything and his life.
"Is this really the end of the world?" someone asked in a somber tone.
Fang Zhiyi threw some firewood into the pile in front of her, listening to the crackling sound of the damp wood: "We're all still alive, so let's not think about things we can't do."
He repeatedly emphasized that no one was allowed to stay in the luxurious buildings in the resort. He insisted that everyone stay in the small wooden houses closest to the lawn. Even though it was damp and some girls were reluctant, no one objected when they saw Fang Zhiyi's serious face. They could only try their best to keep their own little houses clean and remove the mud from the outside.
As Chen Rui cuddled his girlfriend to sleep, he felt a little panicked. He didn't know why the world had become so chaotic, or what would happen next. Lost in thought, Chen Rui fell asleep, but just a moment after he closed his eyes, he felt someone violently shaking his bed.
Chen Rui suddenly sat up. Could there be an outsider? He took two seconds to react and felt everything in the room shaking.
"Earthquake! Earthquake!"
Shouts pierced the night sky. The people in the camp didn't even have time to get dressed before they scrambled outside. They remembered that Fang Zhiyi had specifically told them to go to the lawn in the center if anything happened.
When Chen Rui dragged Li Duo over, Fang Zhiyi was already sitting there.
Everyone's face was filled with panic, and the earth continued to tremble.
Fang Zhiyi looked at everyone and shouted, "Don't panic, stay calm!" But how could everyone really calm down? The ground shook more and more violently, and the surrounding houses began to tilt.
