A traveling storyteller came to Yangcheng and vividly recounted the deeds of chivalrous heroes in the martial arts world on the street, attracting many people to stop and listen. This was a rare form of entertainment. However, at the most crucial moment, the storyteller paused to collect money while holding up his bamboo hat. Some people gave him some copper coins, while others left silently.
Some people noticed that the local thug Fang Zhiyi hadn't appeared recently, and wondered if he was dead too. Fortunately, they learned from the old man at Hongyun Bookstore that Fang Zhiyi was not dead, but they didn't know where he had gone.
Fang Zhiyi was cursing as he made his way. He knew the original owner was poor, but he hadn't expected him to be this poor. He was practically penniless. If it weren't for Xiao Hei finding the few copper coins the original owner had hidden under the bed to get married, he probably would have starved to death before he finished his business.
After several days of living outdoors in the wind and rain, Fang Zhiyi was also feeling quite uncomfortable: "Damn it, this is too miserable. There's nothing to eat or drink."
Just as he was cursing, a voice came from behind him.
"Friend, where are you going?"
Fang Zhiyi turned around and saw a round face, which quickly matched the face of Wang Ergou from the story.
"I'm starving, so let's skip the formalities and I want to join you," Fang Zhiyi said directly.
Wang Ergou was stunned. Looking at the young man in front of him, he thought, "Is this guy crazy? How pitiful."
Fang Zhiyi grabbed him and dragged him away without paying any attention: "Hurry up, do you provide meals there? I want to join."
Wang Ergou struggled for a moment: "Hey? Hey? Do you even know what kind of place we are? You just want to join us?"
But the young man in front of him still held his arm firmly, which made Wang Ergou wary. Could this person be a spy sent by another sect? He subconsciously tried to draw his sword with his other hand, but as soon as he made the move, Fang Zhiyi slapped his left hand with her right hand, and the drawn steel sword went back into its sheath.
"Who are you?!" Wang Ergou exclaimed in surprise.
He was met with a slap that swung wide open. Wang Ergou stared wide-eyed as the slap got closer and closer to him. He simply closed his eyes, but no pain came for a long time.
Wang Ergou squinted and looked; Fang Zhiyi's hand was less than three inches from his face.
"Let me tell you, I'm starving. If you won't let me join you, I'll have to think of another way..."
When Wang Ergou saw Fang Zhiyi looking him up and down, he immediately became terrified: "I don't taste good!"
Fang Zhiyi slapped him on the head: "Who the hell said they wanted to eat you! Do you have any money?!"
Wang Ergou was stunned again. No, he, a member of the Demonic Sect, had encountered robbers?
But now it was clear that he couldn't beat the other party, so he could only angrily take out his meager amount of money, thinking about how to get the money back. But to his surprise, Fang Zhiyi dragged him all the way to the market near the edge of the city, threw down the money, bought two bowls of noodles, and then returned the money to him.
Seeing Fang Zhiyi wolfing down her food, Wang Ergou's previous wariness instantly turned into pity. How pitiful she was, starving like this.
"Is that enough? If not, I'll order you another bowl."
Fang Zhiyi waved her hand: "No need, just take me to your place later."
"No, bro, what exactly do you want?"
"I'll join you."
"Join...do you know who I am?" Wang Ergou said helplessly.
