Fang Zhiyi rolled his eyes: "So you're starting to lecture me on philosophy now? You..." He paused suddenly. He thought of a possibility. He had been traveling through different worlds with Xiao Hei, and had long since transcended the human realm, thus breaking free from the so-called trajectory. Otherwise, he would be like the people below, living vividly from birth to death, with the self of the previous second and the self of the next second living at the same time.
"It seems you understand, intruder. This was not my arrangement, but rather the cycle of humanity. No matter how many times humanity is destroyed, they will always walk this path. It will always be the same people, following the same trajectory. Humanity has always existed, only in every stage."
The old man's tone was calm, but Fang Zhiyi could detect a hint of weariness in it.
“They can live in every moment, but you, once you die, you are completely dead. You are a monster with no future and no past.” Although his tone was calm, the oppressive feeling was so strong that it enveloped Fang Zhiyi. “By doing this, you have obscured the future of everyone. You are the monster that brought disaster. Of course, if you leave now, I can still repair the world’s trajectory that you have destroyed.”
"Old man, you're really rude, but I can't blame you."
The old man slightly raised his eyes.
"You've probably seen enough of this, haven't you? You've seen these people struggle to survive and die tragically countless times." Fang Zhiyi met his gaze without fear. "After all this talk, you just think it's boring, right? You've watched the same movie over and over again, you should be tired of it by now."
Fang Zhiyi suddenly understood something. Recalling the Heavenly Dao he had offended in the past, he wondered why some Heavenly Dao turned a blind eye to his actions, while others directly struck him down, but very few actually attacked him directly. And then there was that one time, when that Heavenly Dao seemed to want to say something to him…
In a sense, the Heavenly Dao of these worlds, like the humans living in those worlds, are prisoners! Compared to the ignorance of humans, the Heavenly Dao have always seen everything laid out before them. Each person is like a book, from the first page of birth to the last page of death, everything has already been written.
However, their intrusion, along with Xiao Hei's, altered some of the fates of these worlds.
"Heh, heh heh." The old man suddenly laughed, a muffled laugh that didn't belong to his body, making Fang Zhiyi's ears ache.
“Intruder, you’re different from the other intruders. When they faced me, they either apologized or chose to leave. Of course, they didn’t leave… I’m starting to look forward to your future.”
Fang Zhiyi frowned. Just how many transmigrators had this old man killed? It wasn't impossible; some Heavenly Daos were quite monstrous.
Suddenly a loud bang was heard, and the transparent wall began to shatter inch by inch.
Xiao Hei squeezed through the crack like a thug: "Damn it, you there! Come out here! Fight me three hundred rounds with Grandpa! Trying to fool me with just one hand?"
But the next moment, the old man disappeared from the spot.
Fang Zhiyi felt her body plummeting rapidly; at this height, she was certain to die!
But when he clutched his head, he realized he was still sitting at the entrance of the research institute, and sirens were already sounding outside.
Fang Zhiyi didn't care about anything else, picked a direction and started to flee. If she got caught, she would be in big trouble.
Before long, Xiao Hei reappeared beside him.
"That thing slipped away too fast!"
"Don't brag, you probably haven't even beaten someone with one hand."
"Who said that! I can handle this with one hand!" Little Black retorted, somewhat unconvinced. "By the way, what did it tell you?"
Fang Zhiyi shook her head: "He's just an old man who wants to see some new content but is too embarrassed to ask me for help."
Xiao Hei looked somewhat bewildered.
