As Yang Sisi answered Tie Nan, she held the phone even tighter. Tie Nan tried to snatch it from her, but she lay down on the ground like a rogue and then kicked him. Tie Nan was extremely annoyed and said, "Even a hen protecting its chicks wouldn't be this fierce. Do you have some shady secret hidden in your phone?"
Taozi pulled Tie Nan aside and said, "She doesn't have a secret over the phone, she has one in her heart. Don't make things difficult for her..."
Tie Nan pondered for a moment, then chuckled slyly, "I understand."
Taozi's gaze swept over Yang Sisi, then she nodded and replied, "As for Michael's matter... let's just call it an act of bravery in private. Whether or not Ye Zhicheng should do him a favor is up to Michael's own decision... as for the medical expenses, nutrition expenses, and so on, we're too lazy to even mention them... people who come from our romantic past are just that magnanimous!"
Bai Lu gave Taozi a thumbs up and praised, "Girl, that's a very polite way to put it!"
Tie Nan chuckled awkwardly and said with a sigh, "Anyway, it's not you guys who are getting beaten up... so just pretend to be magnanimous."
Bai Lu replied, "If you get beaten up, we'll say the same thing."
Tie Nan was speechless at Bai Lu's attempt to change the subject. Perhaps feeling embarrassed, he bent down and gave Yang Sisi a ferocious lion's roar, which frightened her so much that she lay back down.
Yang Sisi was no pushover either. She picked up a beer bottle from the ground and threw it at Tie Nan. If Tie Nan hadn't dodged quickly, the force would have knocked the shit out of him!
...
The meal lasted until 11 p.m., and everyone who was supposed to be drinking got drunk. In the end, only Bai Lu and I were still relatively sober. While I was cleaning up the mess, she also brewed a pot of hangover tea and delivered it to each of the drunk people.
After we finished what we were doing, we sat down in the small bar. She lit a cigarette, not looking like she was in a hurry to leave.
I asked her, "Are you sure the child is alright since you're going home so late?"
"It's the weekend, so the child was sent to her grandparents' house."
I lit a cigarette, smiled, and replied, "If you're not busy, let's sit down and chat for a while."
Bai Lu smiled at me and asked, "Shall we talk about you, me, or the inn?"
"That's about it for the inn, what else is there to talk about?"
"Then let's talk about you."
"I don't have much to talk about."
"If we add Sisi, wouldn't we have more to talk about?"
I looked at her and laughed, "You're such a joker."
Bai Lu replied seriously, "We can see that Sisi likes you; we can also understand your difficulties... This matter is quite difficult to handle."
I smiled and said, "There's nothing to talk about if there's no result... But are you and Coach Ma just going to keep dragging this on?"
Bai Lu looked at me with some surprise. She didn't know that Tie Nan had already told me about her past with Coach Ma.
I took a drag of my cigarette and said, "I've already heard why Coach Ma went to jail back then... You two really had a tough time."
Bai Lu looked confused, then forced a smile and said, "I really want to divorce Guo Yang, but what will change besides making my family worry, feel sad, and lose face?"
"You have feelings for Coach Ma, and Coach Ma is loyal to you, so why can't you be together?"
“If we could be together, we wouldn’t have waited until now… He has a scar in his heart, and I also feel that I am not good enough for him, after all, I am already a woman with a child.”
"Have you two communicated this matter properly?"
"I don't know how to start the conversation."
"How about... I help you test Coach Ma and see what he's really thinking?"
Bai Lu exhaled the smoke from her mouth, then asked with a smile, "Michael, is it really a good idea to advise others to get a divorce?"
"That depends on who you're trying to persuade... If I were to persuade you, I wouldn't feel guilty at all, because Guo Yang is such a fucking scoundrel!"
"I misjudged him."
Seeing Bai Lu whispering with her head down, I felt a pang of sadness in my heart, because I knew how painful it was for a woman to admit that she had made a mistake in her marriage; for women, marriage is sometimes everything.
At this moment, Bai Lu is essentially denying everything about herself, which requires more than just courage.
I advised him further, "Regarding the divorce, I suggest you don't delay any longer. I think it's a huge hidden danger because Guo Yang doesn't have the moral compass a normal person should have... Moreover, in this marriage that exists in name only, you'll be the one who suffers the most. On the other hand, he not only cheated on you while you were pregnant, but he's still using your family's connections to facilitate his business. Your parents feel that your divorce has damaged their reputation, but I think that by tolerating this grandson, you're truly hurting your parents... We can all see that your divorce is inevitable. If you don't take the initiative now, it will be too late when you're truly in a passive position!"
"I have this sense of crisis."
"Well, since you understand, I won't try to persuade you any further."
...
After chatting with Bai Lu, it was already midnight. After lying in bed, I sent Dai Qiang a message and asked, "Have you found a place to stay yet?"
