Chapter 40 Deliberately Targeting Me

I got dressed and came out, and saw two policemen standing outside the door.

These two people look familiar to me. I must have seen them at the police station, but I don’t know their names.

"Zheng Yang! Come with us." The policeman actually took out handcuffs after saying this.

I had never experienced this before. Just as I reached out my hand, Aunt Jun stopped me:

"Wait! What crime did our Zheng Yang commit?"

"Zheng Yang is suspected of plagiarizing other people's programs and using them to profit."

"Why are you handcuffing me for just suspected plagiarism? Zheng Yang is a well-known figure in the city, after all. He's not suspected of any major crime, so why is he handcuffed?"

Yes! If someone were to take a picture of me in handcuffs, the negative impact could be significant or minor.

“Because the amount involved is huge.”

The police seemed to have known we would say this and insisted on handcuffing me.

"There's no conviction, so why are you doing this?"

Aunt Jun wanted to stop them, but a policeman stopped her:

"If you continue to stop me, you'll be obstructing the police and I can arrest you."

"Aunt Jun! Don't worry, I'll go with them."

"But!"

I shook my head at Aunt Jun and extended my hand.

There's no point in stopping them. I think they did it on purpose. If things get out of hand, Aunt Jun might get involved.

"Click, click..." As soon as we left the hotel, we were surrounded by a large group of reporters. I hadn't heard the sound of camera shutters since I left.

I am increasingly feeling that the plagiarism was a premeditated act targeting me.

Otherwise, who would have notified so many reporters to come over?

"Mr. Zheng Yang, just after being recognized as a programming genius, you're now facing plagiarism accusations. What are your thoughts?"

"Excuse me, Mr. Zheng Yang! Did you really plagiarize?"

"Some people say that you're a recent high school graduate and it's impossible for you to have such advanced programming skills. Your program is completely plagiarized. What do you say to that?"

I won't say anything. I can't say anything until I understand the whole story.

I squeezed through the crowd and got into the police car.

I thought I would see Huang Guoqiang when I got to the police station, but when I got there, not only was there no Huang Guoqiang, but even Captain Sun was nowhere to be seen.

The old secretary was there, and there was a policeman sitting next to him, who was responsible for taking notes.

"Zheng Yang! You've let us down so much. The city treated you so well and considered you an outstanding role model, yet you actually did something like this."

Damn! He convicted me without even investigating the matter thoroughly?

"Old Secretary! What evidence do you have for saying this?"

The old secretary grabbed the photo on the table and shook it: "Is this you?"

It's not very clear, it should be taken by surveillance camera, but you can see that it was a scene of me collecting waste paper.

"What does this mean?"

"What does it mean? This is the back door to Weiji Studio. The waste paper you collected belongs to Weiji. The drafts of your programs are in there."

He almost made me laugh out loud. It was the first time I heard that programming required drafting on paper.

"Old Secretary! Stop talking nonsense. What you're saying is nonsense. Just let my accusers confront me directly."

"How dare you speak to me like that? Let me tell you, the evidence we have includes not only this photo, but also a program they provided. It's exactly the same as yours, and the date is before your website was registered."

"Same as my procedure?"

"Same!"

Impossible! Even if the program they wrote has the same functions as mine, it is impossible for the program to be the same.

"That's fine? Ask that person to print out a copy of my program for me to see."

"You won't cry until you see the coffin, just wait!"

The old secretary spoke with confidence and turned around and left the interrogation room.

I have no impression of Weiji Studio.

I was the one who secretly collected waste paper last year. I really admire them for being able to dig up something that happened so long ago.

The next person to come in was not the old secretary, nor the policeman, but Cheng Cuifang.

"It's you? You're the one who caused all this?"

I understand now. I embarrassed her at the party last night and she is taking revenge on me.

Cheng Cuifang calmly sat down in the old secretary's seat, showing no emotion:

"What do you mean I did it? Weiji Studio is a branch of my Liang family. Their intellectual property rights have been infringed. Isn't it right for me to sue you?"

"I didn't plagiarize at all. I wrote those programs myself."

Cheng Cuifang laughed, a mocking laugh: "That's not your decision. If I can provide you with evidence of plagiarism, then you are plagiarizing."

Cheng Cuifang took out a piece of paper and threw it to me.

The more I looked at it, the more shocked I became. It was actually my program, exactly the same!

"Nothing to say now? This kind of plagiarism is used for profit. Not only will you have to pay back all the profits, but you will also face a huge fine."

Cheng Cuifang felt like she had me in her corner, and said smugly, "Oh! I heard you've been struggling a lot. I wonder if you can come up with this money."

Take shit! She's totally slandering me. I didn't plagiarize, so why should I take the money?

"Of course, if you were an employee of my company, or even my son-in-law, this wouldn't be plagiarism at all, right?"

Go to hell! You still want a son-in-law? Do you think I'm a trash can?

"You're dreaming! I'd rather go to jail than work for you."

"Okay! You wait for the trial!"

I thought I would be put in a detention center, where people who have to wait a long time for trial are sent.

I didn't, so they just took me to the police station's holding cell.

I cracked the program. They really went to great lengths to harm me.
