I'm not afraid of any more money. I feel that the money from the United States is too little, and I'm very happy that they are willing to send people to me.
I led them out of the city and found a secluded spot to stop, but the van stopped behind me.
This doesn't look like they're about to take action.
Then, in the following van, all four people got out. An old man with a big beard, leaning on a cane, led the three of them to me.
"Let me introduce myself. My name is Xige! I have no ill intentions in following Island Master Zheng." He spoke in the Great Xia language, with clear and accurate pronunciation.
"You should tell me what country you're from! You Westerners all look pretty much the same, I can't tell you apart."
Higg chuckled: "I am a citizen of the land of Ley, which is known as the land of God's Chosen."
Chosen by God?
The big beard and black top hat do look quite similar.
"What do you want?"
“Now countries around the world are boycotting Master Zheng, but I have seen that Master Zheng is extraordinary. I am here to act as a matchmaker for Master Zheng.”
"What?"
Higg glanced back and saw the door of another van open, from which six women got out.
They came up to me, each one beaming with smiles. I looked at them, and they were looking me over as well.
To be honest, whether it's the United States, Germany, France, or the beautiful women from Israel right in front of me, I think they're all pretty much the same.
They all have big eyes, high noses, rugged facial features, and hot figures.
I glanced at every woman: "Mr. Higg, do you think I'm lacking women?"
Higg smiled again: "Island Lord Zheng has misunderstood. Island Lord Zheng is highly talented and handsome, how could he lack women?"
What I mean is, they could give Island Master Zheng an admission ticket.
"What's the meaning?"
"As long as Lord Zheng marries any of them, he can join our chosen people and become one of us."
I couldn't help but scoff, as if joining their chosen race was some kind of prestigious thing.
"Island Master Zheng, please don't refuse yet." Hig took out a USB drive:
“Island Master Zheng, you can take a look at this first. I know that Island Master Zheng always carries a computer with him.”
It's no secret that I'm always with my computer.
When I plugged the USB drive into my computer, it was filled with the names of thousands of companies and their responsible persons, all labeled as "Chosen Ones".
I admit that the Chosen Ones are good at making money, but I will never forget how they colluded with the Yang Kingdom to harm the Great Xia.
In my eyes, they are a bunch of ingrates.
Moreover, I just gave Kaman a piece of my mind, and now they're enemies.
“If Lord Zheng is one of our own, we will help him just like we would help other members of our clan.”
The countries led by the United States will not only cease their boycott of you, but will actually support you.
This proposal is very tempting. If I hadn't recently been fined a lot of money, the boycott by the United States would have cost me my life savings.
But am I the kind of person who would easily betray principles for personal gain?
I shook my head: "This is not a reason for me to betray Great Xia."
They're trying to win me over because they see my value.
"Could it be that Lord Zheng didn't take a liking to them?"
After Higg finished speaking, the women all looked somewhat resentful.
"They are all outstanding individuals in their respective fields, including actresses, entrepreneurs, scientists, and fighters. I guarantee that none of them are just pretty faces."
It seems that Sieg still doesn't understand why I refused.
“Mr. Hig! I am a Han Chinese from Great Xia! It was decided from birth that I would never betray Great Xia.”
As for the Hanhai tribe of the Shiyan people, they do not belong to Earth, and the Hanhai tribe has been extinct. My joining them is more of a symbolic act.
The Chosen Ones are different; they still have people, many people.
Moreover, their relationship with Da Xia is not so harmonious, and even if it were, I wouldn't join.
“I only said to join the Chosen People, not to join the Kingdom of Ley. You can…”
I reached out to stop him from continuing: "Mr. Higg, there's no need to say anything more. I'm a businessman, but I won't sell my conscience."
If that's all Mr. Higg is talking about, then I have nothing more to say.
"Does Lord Zheng not care at all about the development of Gaim Island? It is being boycotted by various countries, and cargo ships and merchants will not come."
Even if it's business, they won't do it with you.
He still wouldn't give up: "Let me put it this way! Even if I'm so poor I have to beg for food, I won't join you."
After I finished speaking, I opened the door, got into the car, and drove off.
But I hacked Higg's phone.
I can still hear them talking.
“Your Excellency the Right Earl! This Zheng Yang is being unreasonable, we…”
I guess he's mimicking the action of slitting his throat?
One left-wing count died, and now a right-wing count has appeared. Very well? Touch me, touch me and I'll let you taste what it's like to be burned to ashes and buried in the sewers.
Are you confident you can kill him?
The person who was speaking just now has fallen silent.
“You can see his condition. Even on his own turf, he doesn’t bring any bodyguards when he goes in and out. And when he’s with us, he’s as relaxed as if he’s lying in his own bed.”
There's only one explanation for this: he doesn't take us seriously and isn't afraid of us taking action.
Old people are cunning and shrewd; the old man is very good at judging people.
"Then what do we do? Without him, those robot dogs are useless in the water; we can't get them out at all."
Huh? They bought a robot dog too?
It looks like they want me to retrieve something from the water.
"Take your time! Our treasure has been at the bottom of the sea for over two thousand years, a little more time won't make a difference. Let's go."
