Chapter 77 School Registration It’s time to report to the university in a blink of an eye…

In the blink of an eye, it was time to report to the university.

Geng Yunye carefully checked the luggage prepared for her again, and finally took out a packing box from the cabinet.

"I asked the factory to make it for you," he opened the box, revealing three brand new pairs of indigo jeans and a cropped denim jacket.

"I've made a sample of your size. Try it on to see if it fits you."

Cheng Xin picked up a pair of jeans, the fabric was thick and crisp.

She went into the inner room and changed into jeans. The tight fabric instantly wrapped around her legs, clearly outlining every inch of her lines. Her waist was just right, and her hips looked particularly full and firm.

She stood in front of the mirror, feeling uncomfortable all over, as if she couldn't even walk, her face burning, her fingers unconsciously tugging at the seam of her pants: "This is too tight, it's so embarrassing to wear it."

Geng Yunye stood behind her, his eyes fixed on the mirror. The tight jeans made her straight and slender legs even more eye-catching. Her legs were smooth, with simple and neat lines from her slender ankles to her tight thighs.

She tucked the bottom of her shirt into her jeans, making her waist look slimmer. The curves of her hips wrapped in denim made her look full and round, full of youthful and healthy vitality.

He forgot to look away for a moment, his Adam's apple rolled unconsciously, and he praised from the bottom of his heart: "Why am I embarrassed? It's very beautiful."

The sincerity and appreciation in his tone made Cheng Xin's face even hotter, and a little sweetness and confidence quietly emerged from her shyness.

She looked at herself in the mirror again, pursed her lips, and finally stopped pulling up her pants waist. She asked him in a low voice, "Does it really look good?"

"Of course!" Geng Yunye affirmed.

Cheng Xin looked at the light in his eyes, and the discomfort in her heart was replaced by a new sense of satisfaction. She hummed softly, and felt more at ease.

The heavy bedding was mailed to the school in advance, and Geng Yunye said he would buy new washbasins, thermoses and other daily necessities that were fragile and took up space when he arrived in Shanghai.

Early in the morning on the day of departure, Geng Yunye carried a large suitcase and sent Cheng Xin to school.

As soon as I walked out of the house, Huang Cai hurriedly caught up from behind.

"Cheng Xin, wait for me!" Huang Cai was holding a bag of freshly cooked tea eggs in her hand.

She ran out of breath and stuffed the tea egg into Cheng Xin's hand: "Eat it on the way, to fill your stomach."

"Thank you, Sister Huang Cai." Cheng Xin did not refuse and thanked her with a smile.

The three of them walked towards the village entrance together. Huang Cai held Cheng Xin's arm affectionately, while Geng Yunye walked a few steps away to greet the village cadres.

She lowered her voice and said, "After you settle down at school, if you are free on weekends or need help with anything, come and find me! My home is in the alley next to your university. It only takes ten minutes to walk there. It's very convenient."

Cheng Xin knew that she was from Shanghai, but she didn't expect it to be so close to her school.

"Okay, I'm worried about being unfamiliar with the place."

Huang Cai's face was filled with helplessness and longing: "Alas, my son is going to the first grade this year, and his household registration is in Shanghai with his grandmother. In order to let him stay in Shanghai to study, I can only put him up at my mother's house."

"Wu Kai and I take turns to go back and see the children at least once a month. We can't go back now because the children's education is a big deal."

She patted Cheng Xin's hand and said, "Don't feel like you have no relatives when you get there. My sister's home is close."

Cheng Xin felt heavy in her heart after hearing this: "Okay! Sister Cai, I'll remember it. Thank you." She nodded vigorously.

Huang Cai reminded Cheng Xin a few more times, saying to be careful on the road and to write a letter when they arrived, then hugged Cheng Xin tightly.

Geng Aiguo drove out in a truck with two benches inside.

Geng Yunye first helped Cheng Xin climb onto the truck bed and let her sit firmly on the bench. He then put the suitcase on top, propped himself up on the edge of the bed, pushed his boots against the tire tread, and used inertia to flip into the bed.

The truck started, Cheng Xin looked back and saw Huang Cai still standing at the entrance of the village, waving at her vigorously.

When they arrived at the county train station, Geng Yunye bought a ticket and accompanied her on the train to Shanghai.

The train arrived at Shanghai Station. As I stepped out of the platform, the hustle and bustle of the city hit me.

The wide streets are bustling with traffic, with clanging trams shuttling through them. Tall buildings are lined up one after another, the shop windows are bright, and the pedestrians are dressed more brightly and fashionably than in their hometowns. The vitality of the metropolis can be felt everywhere.

Geng Yunye carried Cheng Xin's suitcase and took her to the bus to her university as if she was familiar with the route.

The university campus is bigger than Cheng Xin had imagined.

Ancient sycamore trees block out the sun, the red brick teaching buildings are solemn and elegant, banners welcoming new students are hung on the wide boulevards, and everywhere are youthful faces and new students and parents dragging their luggage.

Geng Yunye carried the suitcase into the dormitory corridor, and in his other hand he held an extra-large box that he had retrieved from the post office, which contained bedding that had been sent in advance.

The second room on the right on the third floor is Cheng Xin's dormitory. He pushed the door open and saw two girls and their parents already making the beds. They greeted each other and continued with their own business.

He placed the box next to the empty bed by the window, took out the bedding and put it on the wooden bed. He specially asked his mother-in-law to help him make a cotton mattress weighing eight kilograms.

"Give me the sheet." He reached behind him.

Cheng Xin took out a blue bed sheet with floral patterns from the suitcase and handed it to him, then watched him kneel on the bed and tuck the corner of the bed sheet towards the bed.

"I'll go buy a basin." He straightened up after making the bed.

Cheng Xin followed him to the door before turning back and putting the clothes in the suitcase into the closet.

Twenty minutes later, Geng Yunye came back with something: three enamel basins of different designs and two tin thermos.

He put the things on the table and took out a plastic mouthwash cup with a butterfly print on it and two new toothbrushes in it.

"Your school store only has these styles. It took me a long time to choose the different patterns and colors."

He unscrewed the stopper of the thermos and smelled it.

"It's new, and it has no smell."

After packing up everything, Geng Yunye should leave.

Cheng Xin saw him off at the school gate, feeling very reluctant to let him go. She couldn't help but ask what she had been hiding in her heart for a long time: "Brother Yunye, you are so smart and know so much, why don't you go to college?"

She always felt that with his intelligence, it would not be difficult for him to get into college.

Geng Yunye's eyes swept across the high-spirited college students, then fell back on Cheng Xin's face, and smiled: "I attended a literacy class in the army, which counts as a high school diploma. Studying is not my strong point."

He continued, "Once the factory is stable, I plan to enroll in night school to learn more systematic management knowledge. For now, I will do a good job in the things at hand, so that the people who follow me will not worry about food and clothing, and our village will develop better and better. That's enough."

Cheng Xin looked at his resolute profile, her heart full of admiration: "Brother Yunye, you are the best in my heart!"

Yes, although the man in front of me does not have a college degree, the roads he has walked, the books he has read, and the things he has experienced have long been accumulated into profound wisdom. He has a broad vision, is calm in dealing with things, and knows more than many college students. For him, academic qualifications are indeed icing on the cake, not a necessary stepping stone.

Geng Yunye rubbed her hair and said, "Go in quickly. Write a letter home after you've settled down. Remember to buy anything you need. Don't be reluctant to spend money."

He watched Cheng Xin leave until her figure disappeared in the dormitory building, then he turned around and strode out of the school gate, his figure soon merging into the bustling crowd on the streets of Shanghai.
