Chapter 30 Still like me?

Chapter 30 Still like me?

"Snap", the cold lights in the office area spread all over, and Zhou Ran raised his hand to block the glaring light.

They saw each other's faces clearly.

Zhou Ran looked relaxed, as if he had been drinking, and held the car keys in his hand. "Just got off work?"

Yan Nian turned off the flashlight on his phone: "Come back to get something."

After the question and answer, there was no other topic to talk about.

There was fatigue in Zhou Ran's eyes. When he passed by her, the fragrance of grass and wood mixed with the smell of alcohol hit her face.

Yan Nian guessed that he had some social engagements today, as he looked slightly drunk.

I wanted to ask something but the words were stuck on my lips. In his current state, he definitely wouldn't buy it, so I swallowed it.

"Mr. Zhou, I'll be leaving first."

Zhou Ran was almost at the office door when he heard this and turned around: "Who told you to leave? Come here."

He had just finished a social event and was a little drunk.

I saw Xu Mi's circle of friends post that showed her having dinner nearby after get off work. She was in the blurry photo. I called a designated driver to come over in a daze, but what I got was a cold response: "I'm leaving first."

Yan Nian hesitated whether to go over. She had just sent away one drunkard when another came.

Besides, I have already had a scandal with him in the company. If he has a girlfriend, will I lose my job?

"Come here." Zhou Ran was obviously getting impatient.

At the command, Yan Nian's feet stepped forward without his control. He was drunk and had a bad temper. "Do you need my help?"

Zhou Ran held out his hand: "How come you don't have any tact at all?"

“…” Yan Nian supported him, as if he was really drunk.

After walking into the office, he helped him to rest on the sofa in the lounge area. Yan Nian half-bent his waist and placed his mobile phone and power bank on the low table.

Zhou Ran raised his drooping eyelids and scanned her fair face, neck, and collarbone.

Under the light, her skin is cold and white, and every inch of her is temptation.

Yan Nian stood up straight and found a cup to pour him some water.

"Don't take advantage of me."

Yan Nianzheng's hand trembled as he poured water.

He secretly criticized the drunk man for not forgetting to remind him of this matter, but at the same time, he put aside his awkwardness and said seriously, "Don't worry! I know myself well."

"Yes." Zhou Ran unbuttoned his collar and ordered, "Make me some tea."

Yan Nian didn't make tea as he requested, but poured a glass of water and handed it to him: "Mr. Zhou, have some water."

Zhou Ran went to take it, and his fingers covered her fingertips. The electric-like touch instantly amplified Yan Nian couldn't help but shrink back, and she didn't hold the cup firmly and almost dropped it.

Four hands reacted just as quickly and tightly wrapped the cup, causing water to spill onto Zhou Ran's trouser legs and clothes.

The four eyes intertwined in the air, the atmosphere was charming, and the amber pupils were tender and gentle.

In an instant, Yan Nian's heartbeat began to accelerate uncontrollably, her eyelashes fluttered unnaturally, and her face became hot.

Avoiding his eyes, Yan Nian swallowed and slowly pulled her hand back. The back of her hand still had the warmth of his embrace, and the palm of her hand still had warm liquid.

"Sorry." Yan Nian said perfunctorily, turned around and started looking for a tissue.

Zhou Ran curled his lips, leaned back on the sofa with the water in his hand and took a sip.

The phone on the coffee table lit up, attracting his attention. The caller ID showed 'Mom', but there was no ringtone. It lay quietly on the power bank and remained lit.

Zhou Ran didn't intend to remind Yan Nian that he had a severe fear of telephones.

He didn't know the reason.

It had been so long that he had almost forgotten about it and even thought she had gotten over it.

I didn't expect it to change at all.

The scene jumps to a summer night, where a young girl rushes into the tent of a street barbecue stall, looking exhausted.

Before this, he had made an appointment with her to have dinner together in the evening, but he called her several times but no one answered.

"Why don't you answer the phone? I've been waiting for you for a long time."

The girl, with a sweaty face, sat on the red plastic stool opposite him, panting, and apologized carefully for fear that he would be angry.

"Sorry for being late. Please send me a message next time. I don't usually answer the phone."

"Okay!" he asked casually, "Are you afraid that your family will misunderstand you if they receive my call?"

"No..." The girl denied, looking a little unnatural, and said with difficulty: "Yes, I have a slight fear of cell phone calls, so I don't like to answer them."

After the girl finished speaking, she lowered her eyes and stopped looking at him, as if this was a very bad thing.

Everyone has privacy that they don't want to tell others. He didn't ask why: "Okay, I know now. I'll message you later."

"Yeah." The girl smiled faintly, as if she had finally confided her secret, and told him, "You're the only one who knows."

He was stunned for a moment, but quite happy.

That was the first time she showed her soft side.

I don’t know if she has ever told this secret to others with a blushing face like she did back then.

It was getting late, so Yan Nian found a tissue and handed it to him: "Are you here for business?"

Zhou Ran put the water cup on the table with a sullen face: "I can't remember it, go away!"

"..." Yan Nian didn't know what he had done to offend him. He had a stern face and seemed quite difficult to please.

It's him who doesn't let him go, and it's him who lets him go.

Yan Nian's phone lit up again. After hesitating for a moment, he picked it up and swiped to answer the call.

She reported to Xu Yiqing about having dinner with colleagues. Xu Yiqing agreed that she could make friends, told her to go back and be careful, and then hung up.

"Shall I find a designated driver for you?" Yan Nian asked him.

Zhou Ran didn't respond. He held his phone with a frown on his face, as if he owed him tens of millions.

Yan Nian pursed her lips. She didn't know how he got here. There was a rest area in the company, so she couldn't help but nag him a little more: "Are you going to sleep in the company? Otherwise, you should go back and change your clothes! You smell pretty bad."

Zhou Ran put down his phone and opened his eyelids to look at her.

Yan Nian knew that she was being a bit nosy, so she grabbed her bag and prepared to leave.

"Yan Nian." Zhou Ran called her.

Yan Nian hung the bag on her shoulder and looked at him sideways.

Zhou Ran smiled and raised his chin: "Be careful, let's go back!"

Yan Nian's heart trembled, and he opened his mouth slightly to say something, but finally nodded: "Well, then remember to call a designated driver later."

Zhou Ran found his phone and stopped looking at her.

Yan Nian gently closed the office door and walked to the elevator.

The moment the elevator opened, I suddenly remembered something and returned the same way.

When I pushed open the office door and ran in, Zhou Ran was still sitting in the same position without moving.

Zhou Ran looked up when he heard the noise and saw her panicked look. He raised an eyebrow and asked, "What's wrong?"

Yan Nian secretly glanced at his collar, where a light red spot had appeared. "I suddenly remembered that when I left, I saw a little red on your neck. I wanted to ask if you are allergic? Do you need me to buy you some medicine or go to the hospital?"

After hearing her stammering, Zhou Ran raised a vague smile at the corner of his mouth: "Yan Nian, are you concerned about me?"

Zhou Ran stood up and approached her: "You knew that, so you came back specially?"

Yan Nian choked and stood there, staring at him. He was allergic to alcohol, and when he ran in, he had no other thoughts but to take a look.

My thoughts were exposed.

He clearly knew it, but still pretended to see it.

Faced with Zhou Ran's questioning, Yan Nian was speechless.

"You're like this, it's easy for me to misunderstand..." Zhou Ran stopped half a meter away from her, with the light behind him, his tall shadow covering her, "You still like me."
