Chapter 66 As if Nothing Happened

Chapter 66 As if Nothing Happened

Zhou Ran shifted his sleeping position on the sofa, his disturbed emotions stirring restlessly in his body.

With his hands resting on the back of his neck, his amber eyes stared at the wall lamp in front of him, and his vision became vague.

He restrained himself from taking the initiative and drew her in little by little.

If the positions were reversed and he took the initiative, the situation would be different.

He had to wait until she was willing to open her heart before he could feel at ease and take her for himself.

Before this, he was willing to accept all her advances.

In the room.

After Yan Nian returned to bed, his mind was very clear. He wrapped himself in the quilt and curled up into a ball, leaving only his head exposed.

The heart was left outside and forgotten to be brought in. There was only a soulless body, staring blankly at somewhere.

She thought she must have copied Xu Yiqing's selfish desires.

Selfishness expands, and people act recklessly.

Yan Nian was very afraid that she would become a paranoid and controlling person like Xu Yiqing.

She is now very sure that if Zhou Ran becomes someone else's in the future, she will go crazy and do something unexpected.

To the extent that, she couldn't help but think about everything Zhou Ran did now in that way. Wasn't this very similar to Xu Yiqing? Wasn't it scary?

She was already very restrained, however, the process of restraint was painful, like a thorny vine that bound her tightly.

The sudden ringing of the phone broke the quiet morning and woke up the two people who had finally fallen asleep.

Yan Nian suddenly opened his eyes and looked at the light on the bedside table in a blur.

The phone rang from outside. It was Zhou Ran calling.

Yan Nian got up from the quilt and leaned against the head of the bed to calm her upset heart.

The person outside answered the phone and could faintly hear a muffled voice, but could not make out what was said.

Yan Nian looked at the time and it was six o'clock in the morning.

The people outside had already gotten up, and there was the sound of slippers walking around, followed by the sound of washing coming from the bathroom.

She also got up, tidied the room, changed her clothes and went out.

Zhou Ran had finished washing up and was changing clothes in the cloakroom.

Yan Nian threw her pajamas into the washing machine, folded the thin blanket on the sofa, and went into the bathroom to wash up.

I came out to the bedroom to get my bag and we met in the hallway.

Zhou Ran was dressed in a neat shirt and trousers, looking anxious to go out. He seemed stunned when he saw her, his face tired and his eyes gray and blue, indicating he hadn't slept well.

Yan Nian's mental state was not very good either. He curved his lips and said, "Good morning!"

“…”

Good morning?

Didn't you notice the dark circles under his eyes?

Seeing that she showed no signs of guilt and greeted him calmly, Zhou Ran wondered if she had been sleepwalking last night. He pursed his lips and said, "Yeah."

After the greetings, they were silent, and no one wanted to give way to the other.

Just as an awkward atmosphere began to fill the air, Yan Nian quickly stepped aside to make way.

Zhou Ran brushed past her and said, "I have something to do. I need to go out for a while. The car keys are outside. Get them yourself."

Yan Nian said, "No need. I have to go to Huajiayuan today. I'll just go out with you!"

Before Zhou Ran could say anything, she went into the bedroom, got her bag and came out.

Zhou Ran asked, "How do we get there?"

Yan Nian put her hair up and put on a baseball cap: "Take the subway."

Zhou Ran didn't say anything else, and the two of them went downstairs together.

Yan Nian sat in the passenger seat very consciously: "Just put me at the door. I checked and there is a subway nearby."

Zhou Ran curled his lips, but did not put her down at the gate of the community.

Yan Nian reminded: "It's good to be here."

Zhou Ran ignored her. Yan Nian couldn't tell the road either. She didn't know which direction he was going. She opened the map and asked, "Where are you taking me?"

Zhou Ran simply answered: "Subway entrance."

Well, she was overthinking it.

Yan Nian turned off the navigation and asked, "Have we passed it yet?"

Zhou Ran: "Well, go to the next one."

Yan Nian: “…”

The journey to the next subway station was very long, and it had already been twenty minutes and still hadn’t arrived.
