Upon hearing that it was a typhoon, Lin Jinyue became extremely anxious.
If the typhoon is a little smaller, she can still find a way to cope. She had specially reserved a windbreak forest in case a typhoon came and they couldn't withstand it.
But she didn't expect that it would be a Category 12 typhoon right off the bat.
Those bamboo houses, and the simple bamboo chicken coops, I wonder if they can withstand the strain.
Thinking about all this, Lin Jinyue suddenly couldn't fall asleep.
Those young masters were probably used to the tornadoes from the south, as they were all fast asleep.
Lin Jinyue really couldn't sleep, but it was pitch black outside the window, and she couldn't see anything clearly. She also had no idea what the situation was like outside.
Fortunately, Lin Jinyue had told the villagers in advance how to deal with the situation.
Just stay indoors.
Lin Shucheng and Lin Xueqing also came.
Seeing Lin Jinyue's expression, Lin Shucheng said, "Don't worry, that bamboo house looks simple, but it's actually quite sturdy. Didn't we specifically choose a windbreak forest?"
Lin Jinyue sighed: "I'm worried that those farmers living in the wooden houses won't be able to make it through, what if they get sick..."
And that's not even the worst part.
Lin Jinyue was most worried about the chickens and ducks.
It wasn't that she was worried about the financial loss; she was afraid that the villagers would feel sorry for the chickens and ducks and would be tempted to bring the livestock back.
That would be a losing proposition.
Lin Jinyue looked outside with worry; it was definitely not the right time to go out.
Jiang Yun then said, "I'll go to the farm and make some typhoid medicine so that everyone can't take it."
Lin Jinyue also planned to go to the farm to take inventory and see if there was anything she could use.
Lin Shucheng and Lin Xueqing weren't idle either. The wind was howling outside, and they couldn't sleep, so they simply came in together.
The farm is almost at level nine.
There are two acres of chili peppers, two acres of Sichuan peppercorns, and two acres of black pepper planted there.
Of the remaining five acres, two acres were used to grow rice, and snails and crabs were raised in the rice paddies. A rather large artificial lake was also dug.
The open space near the lake is used for raising lobsters.
There is also a separate empty lawn on the farm, about an acre in size, where cattle, sheep and horses are grazing.
Many more baby rabbits have appeared in the rabbit hutch and chicken coop.
Seeing this scene was a great comfort to Lin Jinyue. Even though the outside world was destroyed by the tornado, she still had this farm as a solid support.
Lin Jinyue stopped thinking about those troubling things and helped her mother make ginger soup.
We still need to go and gather herbs.
The mother and daughter were handling various medicinal herbs, while Lin Shucheng and Lin Xueqing were doing farm work.
A sudden tornado made them realize that although they still had a large piece of land, natural disasters and wars could strike at any time.
The farm also needs to be managed properly.
Lin Jinyue and the others were busy on the farm, and before long, the system reminded them that it was dawn and the typhoon was beginning to subside.
The wind was still howling outside, and it was already getting light.
Ji Zixuan came out after washing up, seemingly unconcerned about the strong wind outside, and even greeted Lin Jinyue:
"Your windows are really sturdy. It seems that there are advantages to being expensive. I didn't hear any noise from the windows facing east last night, and I slept quite well."
Ji Zixuan leaned closer and asked, "If I buy the glass myself, can you make this kind of window?"
Lin Jinyue shook her head: "No, glass will be a little too fragile."
Ji Zixuan was on the verge of tears.
Lin Jinyue said to him, "The rest of the village is still in chaos, so we probably don't have time to entertain you. My father has already prepared breakfast, and we can have someone heat it up later."
Ji Zixuan quickly said, "Okay, okay, we'll be fine on our own. It's just that the wind is too strong, and it's not safe to go out to sea. I'm afraid we'll have to trouble you for a few more days."
Lin Jinyue nodded: "It's alright, let's leave when it's safe to do so."
Lin Jinyue walked towards the small bamboo houses with an umbrella.
Seeing that the small bamboo houses were still standing there, Lin Jinyue breathed a sigh of relief.
Thankfully, this little bamboo house is quite durable.
If all these bamboo houses fall apart, she really doesn't know what to do.
Lin Jinyue arrived at the village chief's house first.
The inner door was opened quickly.
The bamboo house was damp, as the tornado had brought seawater up with it. It wasn't far from the sea, and the bedding inside was soaked.
Fortunately, the weather isn't too cold, so we can manage with a brazier.
Shi Tou suddenly threw himself into Lin Jin Yue's arms: "Sister Er Ya, I'm scared, waaaah..."
Stone held back for a long time, and only when he saw that he was safe did he finally burst into tears.
"Waaah, Sister Er Ya, the house was shaking so badly last night, I thought, I thought I wouldn't make it to tomorrow..."
Lin Youcai tapped his grandson on the forehead, not very hard.
Lin Youcai: "What unlucky things are you saying?"
But he was genuinely distressed, and he held his grandson, comforting him, "It's alright, it's alright, you're perfectly fine, aren't you?"
Lin Jinyue asked, "Grandpa, did anyone go out last night?"
Lin Youcai shook his head: "I don't think so. Your Uncle Lin Man felt sorry for those chickens, so I called them back."
They had earned their money one copper coin at a time, and they had all experienced hunger and cold on the road of fleeing famine, so they all felt sorry for their livestock.
But Lin Youcai braved the strong wind and went out to stop the person.
"Er Ya said that typhoons can be deadly. We've been through all kinds of hardship. If we really can't save ourselves, we can start over. But if people are gone, then we really have nothing left."
