Chapter 82 Needing a Help

Lin Jinyue still remembered the address Gu Shao had given her: a military camp stationed on the outskirts of Shawan County, north of the city gate.

If nothing unexpected happens, Gu Shao should be over there.

To save time, Lin Jinyue and her brother spent ten copper coins to rent a horse-drawn carriage. After arriving in Shawan County, they headed north until they reached the military camp.

The military camp was heavily guarded. Lin Jinyue was in a carriage when she saw the camp and looked over, but was quickly stopped.

She lifted the curtain and saw a familiar figure on the training ground, and quickly waved:

"Brother Dongyang—Brother Dongyang—"

Upon hearing the familiar voice, Dongyang snapped back to attention, turned around, and saw Lin Jinyue.

Why is our ancestor here too?

Dongyang was truly afraid of Lin Jinyue.

This little girl is very clever. She usually calls Dongyang or Brother Yang when she has nothing to do, but if she needs something from someone, she will call him "Brother Dongyang".

Dongyang hurried over, walked to the carriage, and asked, "How did you find your way here?"

Lin Jinyue needed someone's help; her brother had just led people to smash up the house of General Ningyuan's concubine's father, and her voice was as sweet as it could be.

She didn't want to lose a single penny anyway.

Not only will they not be compensated, but they will also have to get back the 150 taels they spent on the boat.

Lin Jinyue revealed a small dimple: "It was given to me by General Gu. Last time he said he could grant me a request. Is General Gu here?"

Dongyang scratched his head. When did his young master meet this little devil?

With his young master's naive nature, wouldn't he be skinned alive by this little devil?

Dongyang said with some wariness, “Young Master has gone to Shawan County and will probably not return until after noon. Why don’t you come with me to the tent to rest for a while, Miss Lin?”

Lin Jinyue nodded, "Okay."

If we return at noon, it's still early; we can go back and resolve the issue without delay.

Dongyang knew that her young master valued Lin Jinyue's family and even wanted Jiang Yun to come and be a military doctor, so she had to take good care of this little tyrant.

Dongyang then said, "You wait here, I'll go buy you some pastries and snacks."

Lin Jinyue quickly stopped him, "Oh, no need, no need, I brought snacks."

Lin Jinyue took out a small packet of honey-glazed pork jerky from her pocket. Her mother had made it for her in her spatial dimension, and it was just as good as the high-end pork jerky from her previous life. It even had a slightly salty and sweet taste, which she liked very much.

Pork jerky was a rare treat, so Lin Jinyue reluctantly shared a few pieces with Dongyang. "Brother Dongyang, I have something to ask you."

Dongyang then sent out a few soldiers from inside the tent.

Lin Jinyue then asked, "Who is General Ningyuan? Wouldn't offending him cause some trouble?"

Dongyang was drinking tea when he suddenly spat it out. "Pfft—how did you offend him?"

Dongyang lowered his voice: "It is indeed troublesome. This man is petty and doesn't get along with our general. Although he is of low rank, he comes from a good family."

Lin Jinyue immediately understood the intricacies involved.

It looks like there's some trouble.

But thankfully, Lin Jinyue wasn't afraid of trouble.

Dongyang pressed for details about what had happened, so Lin Jinyue recounted their past conflict with Chen Dawei.

After hearing this, Dongyang breathed a sigh of relief: "I thought it was something else... Father-in-law? Although General Ningyuan is not a very good person, he is still the eldest son of the Xie family in the capital. He has taken countless concubines. How dare Chen Dawei call himself his father-in-law?"

Lin Jinyue burst out laughing.

Chen Dawei really has a big face.

After learning that the matter was easy to handle, Lin Jinyue felt more at ease, picked up a book, and started reading while enjoying her tea and snacks.

She can't write traditional Chinese characters, but she can read them without any difficulty, even if she has to guess.

Dongyang also invited Lin Xueqing out to practice their skills, saying as they walked, "Your sister is really amazing. I couldn't understand that book very well, but I saw her finish it quickly."

Lin Xueqing: "Yes, she usually likes to watch these kinds of things."

Dongyang felt somewhat unconvinced; Lin Xueqing was actually the most aloof member of the Lin family.

You said Lin Jinyue is full of wicked ideas, and Jiang Shi has superb medical skills. He can understand that the two of them are arrogant, but why is Lin Xueqing so indifferent to his young master?

Dongyang was eager to prove himself and wanted to show off his skills, so he took him to the martial arts arena.

Ten minutes later.

Dongyang lay on the ground.

He was truly convinced.

Are all members of Lin Jinyue's family this perverted?

*

Half an hour later, Gu Shao returned.

Dongyang quickly led him to find Lin Jinyue. "Young Master, Miss Lin has arrived. She says she has important business to discuss."

Gu Shao, dressed in a black robe, noticed that Lin Jinyue and her brother were staring at him.

He felt a little uncomfortable being stared at and asked, "Why are you looking at me?"

Lin Jinyue asked the question that had been bothering her: "Aren't you hot?"

Gu Shao: ...

Miss Lin's focus is really strange.

Gu Shao was indeed hot, but he was used to it. Instead, he asked Lin Jinyue, "Is there anything I can help you with?"

Lin Jinyue then recounted the events in Yunhe Village.

Her request was simple: she just wanted Gu Shao to warn Chen Dawei's family and let Chen Dawei know that they were not to be trifled with.

Upon hearing this, Gu Shao was stunned for a moment: "What? That's it?"

Lin Jinyue asked in surprise, "What, you can't solve it?"

Gu Shao was speechless for a moment.

Countless people tried every means to get a single promise from him.

Lin Jinyue only asked him to help solve a small problem.

He only needed to say one sentence to Xie Hong to solve the problem, but he directly used Xie Hong's promise.

In other words, Lin Jinyue couldn't hear his thoughts anymore. If she could, she would definitely say that she had many other simple methods, like boiling salt, and that she wasn't afraid of having no one to help her when she encountered difficulties in the future.
