When Huang Ting saw Zhang Yanran go out, she immediately chased after her. Before leaving, she glared at Zhu Xingyi.
She slowly woke up after the bell rang. They'd changed seats since the start of the semester. Zhu Xingtong still sat in the front row, but this time in the third row. His deskmate had also changed from Yao Xin to Huang Ling. Huang Ling was quiet and tactful, and Jiayue was very pleased with her new deskmate.
Class was over, and everyone was returning to the classroom. Huang Ling poked Zhu Xingtong's arm. Seeing Zhu Xingtong turn his head to look at her, she whispered, "Zhang Yanran just ran out of the classroom crying. Everyone saw you, knew you were there, and thought you were bullying her again."
"It has nothing to do with me. I was sleeping." Zhu Xingtong explained in a low voice.
"I know, I'm just telling you. No, do you know why she ran out crying?" Huang Ling asked with a gossipy look on her face.
"I don't know." Zhu Xingtong shook his head.
Huang Ling felt that she should know, but seeing her say that, she didn't ask any more questions. Instead, she said with a sigh, "You're unlucky too. You should have left as soon as you saw them come in, so that others wouldn't talk nonsense."
"Just say it." Zhu Xingtong said indifferently.
"That's true. You have good academic performance and you are skilled in martial arts. No one can bully you." Huang Ling said enviously.
"It was an unexpected disaster." Zhu Xingtong nodded.
Huang Ling came up to her and said, "You don't know, Huang Ting is really good at playing tricks on people. I was in the same class with her in junior high school. She was the most domineering and loved to protect Zhang Yanran. As long as Zhang Yanran liked someone, she wouldn't allow other girls to get along with that boy, otherwise she would stare at you like a fly. Although she didn't dare to go too far, she would just say bad things about you everywhere, trip you up, and isolate you. There were people who stood up to them in the past, but in the end they were outnumbered and chose to swallow their anger. If they did something excessive, it would be fine. At most, there would be a quarrel, but the things they did were purely to disgust you. If you can't stand it, they win. As for Zhang Yanran, I don't believe she is innocent."
As they were talking, Zhang Yanran and Huang Ting walked into the classroom. Huang Ling immediately sat up straight. Zhu Xingtong wasn't afraid of Zhang Yanran and the others, but she was. How could she study if they were staring at her?
Seeing that she had stopped talking, Zhu Xingtong picked up the book in front of him and started reading. At this moment, the class bell suddenly rang. Huang Ting deliberately walked past her and threw a small note to her. She opened it and saw that it said: "Don't talk nonsense, otherwise you will bear the consequences."
She smiled, tore up the paper ball, and threw it into the garbage bag tied to the leg of the table.
When Huang Ling saw it, she grabbed the notebook beside her, wrote a few words on it, and then pushed it over.
Zhu Xingtong tilted his head to take a look and saw the words written on it: "What's written? Tell me quietly."
Zhu Xingtong took the notebook and wrote: "Let me stop talking nonsense."
Huang Ling took back her notebook with some disappointment. She actually hoped that Zhu Xingtong could curb Zhang Yanran's arrogance.
Huang Ting had been keeping an eye on Zhu Xingtong. Seeing her gossiping with Huang Ling in the notebook, she suspected she was saying bad things about Zhang Yanran. Although Zhu Xingtong was lying on the table when they came in, who knew if she was asleep, so she wrote the note. However, she didn't think the note was any use. After all, Zhu Xingtong wasn't afraid of her.
Thinking of this, she started writing in the notebook and pushed it in front of Zhang Yanran.
"Yanran, I saw Zhu Xingtong and Huang Ling talking. Do you think they were saying bad things about you?"
Zhang Yanran took the notebook and began to write quickly, "Just say it, everyone in the class knows that I like Xue Yang."
"Indeed. Are you giving up on Xue Yang?"
"No, I didn't. I will definitely pursue Xue Yang. It's just that I don't like him, but he can't dislike me."
"Xue Yang must be blind. Otherwise, how could he not like you when you are so beautiful and come from a well-off family? Oh, by the way, someone wrote you a love letter yesterday, but I forgot to give it to you."
Huang Ting put down her pen, took out a letter from the desk and handed it to her.
"Who wrote it again? I won't read it."
"Let's take a look. I heard he's a sophomore in high school. He looks just as good as Xue Yang, in my opinion. If you ask me, Xue Yang is just like that."
Zhang Yanran put the letter under her desk and lowered her head to read. It didn't matter whether they listened to the music class or not, as the teacher didn't pay much attention to them.
Unlike other love letters, this one was full of genuine feelings. However, she still stuffed it into her desk without paying much attention to it.
Huang Ting saw this and started writing again in her notebook.
"How is it? How is it? Do you want to meet him? I think you take Xue Yang too seriously. Maybe if you don't chase him, he will chase you instead."
Zhang Yanran looked at it and fell into deep thought. After a while, she picked up her pen and wrote, "That makes sense. He must like me but doesn't know it. I have to give him some provocation."
"That's right, that's right. I'll take care of it. Just follow me after school."
"You didn't accept any favors from others, did you?"
"Yanran, how could you think of me like this? You don't even know how I treat you."
"You're just too proactive. You've never been like this before."
"It's because this guy is too handsome this time. If you really don't like him, then I'll chase him."
A hint of disdain flashed across Zhang Yanran's eyes. After all, Huang Ting was far inferior to her. Despite this thought, she still wrote, "Okay, I'll help you when the time comes."
Huang Ting was delighted to hear this. When her mother first asked her to be Zhang Yan's assistant, she had been very reluctant. Why should she be so subservient to her mother, who was a nanny? But since she started following Zhang Yan, not only could she go to school in the city, but she could also occasionally get clothes from her that she didn't wear, eat fruits and cakes that she couldn't afford herself, and interact with people she had never been able to reach before. She was so happy.
