The next morning, the family's rooster crowed non-stop, waking all three of them. Huang Mei had locked the door from the outside, preventing them from getting out. Zhu Fengting removed the board from the coop door and let the two chickens out through the crack. Just as they were about to go back to sleep, Huang Mei arrived, carrying Zhu Yuetong.
Huang Mei was surprised to see her son getting up so early. However, since it was rare for her son to get up early, she naturally couldn't say anything to discourage him. She was even prepared to praise him. Just as she was about to speak, Zhu Yuetong in her arms reached out to Zhu Fengting, "Daddy, hold me. I'm so sleepy."
Seeing her son in a daze, she thought he was still asleep and quickly stuffed her grandson into his arms. "Sixth Brother, quickly take Tongtong back to the house. Oh, where's your wife? You're already up, is she still lying in bed?" As she said this, she was about to go to the inner room.
Zhu Fengting hurriedly stopped her, "Mom, mom, it's too early now. My wife is not feeling well, so let her sleep a little longer!"
"I told you she's all show and no substance. Why are these educated youth willing to marry into the countryside? It's because they can't stand the hardship and want to find someone to help share the burden." Huang Mei complained, but she didn't go back to the inner room. She patted the hem of her clothes that was dirty from her grandson's shoes, then stood up and said, "You guys have been resting for half a day since yesterday. You have to go to work today. If you keep slacking off, you will all be exiled next year. I won't care about you. Okay, I'm going home first. I have to go back and make breakfast." After saying that, she left in a hurry.
Zhu Fengting breathed a sigh of relief and carried his little son, whose eyes were closed, into his room. Inside, Liang Yuan had already gotten up and was rummaging through something on the ladder.
"Mom, I'm sleepy." Tongtong said and stretched out his arms towards Liang Yuan again.
"If you're sleepy, take a nap." Liang Yuan said, retracting her eyes.
Zhu Fengting placed the child on the bed and let him roll into the quilt. Then he walked over to Liang Yuan and asked, "Do you have a diary or something?"
Liang Yuan glanced back at Tongtong and saw his belly rising and falling, suggesting he was asleep. She then handed the notebook on the table to Zhu Fengting, "I haven't had time to read it yet." Luckily, this body knew how to read and kept a diary, otherwise it would have been troublesome. Thousands of years had passed, and the pronunciation and writing of many characters had changed.
Zhu Fengting flipped open the black leather notebook and saw the name Liang Yuanyuan written on the first page. He pointed at the words and said, "They sound the same, but they have different characters. Don't make the mistake next time. From now on, you are Liang Yuanyuan."
"Got it." Liang Yuanyuan took back the notebook. "Let me see what your name is now?" She flipped through it quickly and found it in a short while. She couldn't help but look up and smiled at her husband. "Guess what your name is now?"
Zhu Fengting couldn't help but say, "It can't be more unreliable than my current name, right?" It was said that there was a strong wind outside before he was born, and the wind stopped after he was born, so he got this name.
Liang Yuanyuan shook her head. "That's not the case. The meaning is good, but it's a bit rustic. And your last name is Zhu, and your name is Youliang. Remember, from now on, you'll be called Zhu Youliang."
Zhu Youliang somehow recalled what his mother had just said and couldn't help saying, "That's a good name. Mother just said that if we don't go to work, we'll be starving tomorrow. Why don't you take a look at what going to work means?"
Liang Yuanyuan lowered her head and flipped through the pages again, then raised her head and said, "This is China in 1978, during the cooperative era. Going to work meant working with the production team."
Zhu Youliang was not good at history, and the history of the earth was too far away for him, so he didn't know it very clearly, so he just nodded.
Liang Yuanyuan reminded him, "The special period has just ended. You still need to be careful about your words and actions, otherwise there will still be trouble. Before we get familiar with everything here, we should try to have as little contact with outsiders as possible and avoid talking if possible."
Zhu Youliang nodded. "I see. Take another look and see if there's anything else you need to pay attention to. You watch over it first. I'll go make dinner first. I have to go back to work soon. I need to eat more. I don't have enough meat on my body, and I'm afraid I can't handle the work."
Liang Yuan waved her hand, signaling him to hurry. She herself was busy reading the diary in her hands. As she was doing so, she saw her daughter approach. Without saying anything, she raised her hand and handed the diary to her daughter. She then opened the drawer next to her and pulled out another one to read. She didn't look at anything else, just grabbing some information that was useful to her at the moment, so she read quickly.
Zhu Xingtong didn't ask any more questions. She sat down and started flipping through the pages. She first found her name. She was still called Zhu Xingtong, which made her very satisfied. She breathed a sigh of relief when she saw that she was born in 1971. She was only seven years old in this body, so even if she didn't know a lot, it should be easy to fool around. After all, she had suffered a great hardship. With this in mind, she walked to the window and looked out at the courtyard.
This window faced the backyard, where there was a persimmon tree and two chickens, a male and a female. Her eyes lit up at the sight of them. On Earth 233, it was extremely rare to see ordinary animals, but the most abundant species were the star beasts.
Liang Yuan felt a little tired from watching, and couldn't help but twist her neck. When she looked up, she saw her daughter staring out the window in a daze. She walked over and saw the only two chickens in the house.
"No, Atong, you can't pay attention to these two chickens. We have to keep them for laying eggs and for the New Year. If you crave meat, you can go to the mountain behind." Liang Yuan said as she tried to turn her daughter's face. As she did so, she realized that her daughter was no longer the commander with super mental power. She was now just an ordinary seven-year-old girl. Although she was only fifteen years old before, she was already able to lead the mecha team to fight against the star beasts. If they encountered the star beasts, even she and her husband would have to rely on her for protection. Thinking of this, she couldn't help but ask worriedly: "Atong, are you okay? Although... as long as you are alive..."
