Chapter 27 Everyone Has Their Own Aspirations

Sanlaizi's mother was a widow, and people liked to call her Liu Laonian. Liu Laonian lost her husband at a young age, and raised her son alone. She was so preoccupied with making sure she had three meals a day that she didn't notice the child growing up crooked. Sanlaizi had grown up, and she felt that apart from being a bit idle, he wasn't bad at all. As it was getting dark, and Sanlaizi still hadn't returned, she started shouting all over the village. In the afternoon, someone who saw her son going up the mountain said that he had gone into the mountains. She was so scared that she stopped shouting and quickly went to find Chen Youguo, asking him to find someone to go into the mountains to look for him. Although Chen Youguo thought that Sanlaizi might have fallen drunk in that straw nest, he still went out to call for people to go to Xiaocang Mountain together.

Zhou Yan also heard Liu Lao Niang's cry and felt a little regretful for having hit him twice more. But since she had already hit him, she could only force herself to remain calm. After all, when she hit San Lai Zi, he had already fainted, so she didn't think he would dare to say anything nonsense.

Zhu Xingtong also heard Liu Lao Niang's shouting, and Zhu Youliang was also called away to find someone. But she didn't say anything, otherwise her parents would worry about her again.

Soon, Sanlaizi was found. When they found him, he had already woken up and was leaning against a crooked tree with his head covered, trying to "save his life".

When Old Lady Liu saw her son, she immediately rushed over and asked, "Why are you coming up the mountain if you're not going to work?"

The third beggar said naively, "I was just thinking of going up the mountain to try my luck and see if there were any pheasants running by. But I fell and broke my head." In his heart, he was cursing that jerk for daring to hit him with a club. He was going to beat him back when he found him.

But Old Lady Liu slapped her thigh and cried, "Child, if anything happens to you, I will die!"

Chen Youguo said from the side, "That's enough. Sanlaizi, can you still walk? Do you want to go to the clinic?"

Sanlaizi cursed the man who had hit him with the club again in his heart, "I can't walk. I'll faint if I try. Captain, can you find two people to carry me to the clinic?"

Chen Youguo nodded, turned around and had someone carry the three beggars back.

Zhou Yan was relieved to hear that San Laizi was not dead, but Li Tao was a little disappointed. Zhou Yan had become suspicious and was afraid that he would not believe her anymore. If San Laizi could not get Zhou Yan, he would definitely come to pester her again. Thinking of this, she felt a little regretful. Why did she go to the riverbank to meet Yu Zhiqing that day? If they had not been seen by San Laizi by the river, she would not be afraid of San Laizi. The most embarrassing thing was that her family did not agree with her being with Yu Zhiqing, and she had not made up her mind. She walked back and forth in the house, and finally made up her mind to marry Yu Zhiqing. If she married Yu Zhiqing, even if San Laizi spread the matter, it would not affect her much, and she would not have to worry about San Laizi pestering her, and she could use this incident to threaten San Laizi in return. After making up her mind, she went to her parents' room and knelt down when she saw the two elders. The two elders asked her, but she did not say anything, just covered her stomach and cried. The two elders reacted and couldn't help but start scolding her, but she just endured it.

Zhou Yan lived in a room near the kitchen. She heard the scolding coming from the inner room, but she didn't leave. Normally, when Li Tao was upset at home, she would go and try to mediate, but this time, she didn't move. Now, she wished Li Tao would be beaten. At the same time, she had decided that once the situation was over, she would move back to the educated youth camp.

On the second day, Zhu Youliang got up very early again. The road was too long and he had to get up early.

Seeing him coming, Wu Dahai immediately came over and asked, "How is it? Is the submersible pump repaired?" Seeing Zhu Youliang nod, he immediately raised his voice and said, "Not bad, you are really a capable person."

At this moment, Zhang Gong stood at the door. "Comrade Wu, please don't make loud noises in the office."

Wu Dahai wanted to ask, "Aren't you still reading?" But he subconsciously said, "Okay, okay, I'll pay attention next time."

After Mr. Zhang sat down and started reading, he started winking at Zhu Youliang again.

Zhu Youliang somehow understood what he meant and followed him out of the office.

Wu Dahai: "Yes, there is food. Do you feel depressed in the office?"

Zhu Youliang: "Not bad."

"You're really patient, kid! I'm not as good as you." Wu Dahai said as he took out a cigarette. Just as he was about to ask Zhu Youliang if he wanted one, he saw Jiang Xiaoyu approaching. He hurried over, but Jiang Xiaoyu ignored him as usual, glancing towards the office before going inside. She soon emerged, once again holding a lunch box. She'd originally intended to give it to Wu Dahai, but suddenly switched it to Zhu Youliang.

Wu Dahai complained, "I'm defeated because of this face." Then he came closer and said, "Look quickly, what are you having for breakfast this morning?"

Zhu Youliang opened it and saw two large white buns. Zhu Youliang took one and passed the other to Wu Dahai, asking quietly, "What's it about?" Although supplies were not as scarce as they had been a few years ago, not everyone could afford large white buns. This was the first time he had eaten one in all his time here.

Wu Dahai stuffed the bun into his mouth before saying, "Her father works at the grain station."

Zhu Youliang nodded and concentrated on eating the buns.

Wu Dahai devoured the big bun in no time. Looking up, he saw Zhu Youliang eating elegantly and couldn't help but say, "You really don't look like a country boy. If it weren't for your dark face, I would have thought you were an educated youth. It's a pity that you got married so early, otherwise, with your temperament, you would have found anyone. With someone like Jiang Xiaoyu, if you marry her, you won't have to worry about the rest of your life."

Zhu Youliang smiled but said nothing, everyone has their own aspirations.

"Eat quickly. The stationmaster is here and will definitely ask you about the submersible pump. Remember to take credit for yourself." After saying this, Wu Dahai took his lunch box and went to the warehouse at the back.
