Chapter 39 Proposal

Zhu Yourong had originally made up her mind not to get married, but when she heard that the man was Yang Guangzhong, she half agreed in her heart. Yang Guangzhong was the same age as her, tall and good-looking, not as rough as the men in the village. He didn't have much education but he looked like a scholar, and was very popular with girls. She had liked him before, but unfortunately he had a girlfriend and got married early. Unexpectedly, he came to her house to propose marriage. Could it be that this was all destined by heaven? Hearing Huang Mei say this, she hurriedly raised her head and said, "Mom, let me think about it again. You are right, Youliang and Yuanyuan are so good to us, I can't drag them down."

Liang Yuan hurriedly said, "Sister, that's too formal. You've been a great help to us by living here. How can you say you're a burden?"

Huang Mei listened and gave Liang Yuan an admiring look. Besides being a bit lazy, the sixth wife was pretty good in every way. She was quite open-minded.

"Yourong, I feel relieved that you think this way." Huang Mei said with a smile.

Granny Yang also laughed and said, "You should think about it more. But don't worry, as long as I'm alive, if Guangzhong dares to hit you or treat you badly, come to me and I'll beat him with my cane."

Zhu Yourong thought for a moment before mustering up the courage to say, "Thank you, Grandma Yang. I'd like to meet Yang Guangzhong first and ask him in person what he thinks."

"Okay, okay, why not? We have to meet each other. You haven't seen each other much since you got married to Qianmiao Village, so it's good to meet each other." After Grandma Yang said this happily, she stood up and prepared to go back.

Huang Mei hurriedly said, "Auntie, please have dinner before going back. I asked you to come all the way here."

Grandma Yang waved her hand. "No, it's still early. Hey, look, isn't that your sixth son? Why is he off work so early?"

Huang Mei looked over when she heard that, and it was Zhu Youliang, carrying a snakeskin bag on his back. No one knew where he came from. Could it be that he had gone back to the village?
