When they got to the room, Zhu Yourong was wiping her tears. When she saw her come in, she wiped her eyes quickly. Miao Miaomiao took a look at her new clothes and understood that the old couple was still wealthy. Such a large piece of intact red cloth must have been expensive.
"Big sister, your new clothes are so festive," Miaomiaomiao praised, then opened the cloth bag she had brought with her. Even though her family was better off than others, it wasn't much better. Her makeup collection had taken her a long time to collect. A box of vanishing cream, an eyebrow pencil, and a lipstick—that was all she had, and she usually didn't want to use them.
As I mentioned earlier, all the children in the Zhu family are good-looking. Plus, with less worry these past few months and better eating habits, Zhu Yourong has recovered quite a bit. After Miao Miaomiao cleaned her up, she looked even more energetic. Looking at herself in the mirror, she couldn't help but ask, "Is my mouth too red? Did I put on too much blush?"
"Oh, sister, you don't understand. Last time I went to the next village to watch a movie, the actresses there were painted like this, and they looked energetic. Mom, don't you think so?" Miao Miaomiao turned her head and asked Huang Mei.
Huang Mei also felt refreshed and waved her hand, saying, "That's it."
As she was talking, Zhu Xiangxiang ran in and said, "Grandma, Grandma Yang is here. My mom wants you to come over."
"Okay, take Atong and the others to your room to eat Guokui, and don't disturb anyone." Huang Mei waved her hand.
"I understand." Zhu Xiangxiang ran out happily.
When Zhu Yourong heard that someone was coming, she felt nervous but also a little expectant.
Huang Mei patted her on the back and said, "What are you afraid of? It's not like we haven't seen this before."
Miaomiaomiao agreed as she packed her things: "That's right, that's right."
In the main hall, Granny Yang was sitting with Yang Guangzhong and his mother, Liang Yuan was chatting with them. When she saw them come out, Liang Yuan went to sit down at the table.
As soon as Granny Yang saw Zhu Yourong, she smiled and said, "I told you, Guangzhong is blessed."
Yang Guangzhong's mother, Liu Ying, nodded and said with a smile, "Come and sit down. Mei, come and sit down too."
Zhu Yourong kept her head down and didn't notice that Yang Guangzhong was staring at her.
Huang Mei smiled and sat down opposite them. After chatting about some family matters, she nudged her daughter and said, "Take Guangzhong to my room and have a chat. What good is there for you young people to talk about with us old ladies?"
Zhu Yourong had no choice but to stand up and look at Yang Guangzhong. Yang Guangzhong was not so embarrassed and followed her into the inner room.
Miao Miaomiao was sitting next to Liang Yuan. Seeing this, she nudged Liang Yuan and asked, "How is it?"
Liang Yuan was a little confused: "What's going on?"
"The makeup on Big Sister's face? I put it on."
"Yes." In fact, she didn't see it clearly at all, only the red face and red lips. Fortunately, Zhu Yourong was a good person, otherwise it would be hard to say.
"This is something I just learned. If you want to draw it, I can reluctantly draw it for you." Miao Miaomiao said excitedly.
Liang Yuan hurriedly shook his head: "No, it's not like I need to go anywhere. I can stay in the village all day. Why would I paint such beautiful pictures?"
"You are a city person, but why don't you know how to dress yourself up? Look at Chen Yan who came with you. She has already returned to the city. I heard that she got married again, and married a city person. Aunt Wang was so angry. Someone wanted to marry the eldest sister to her son, but she was unwilling, fearing that the eldest sister would not be able to give birth to a son, and her daughter-in-law deserved to run away." Miao Miaomiao came over and said.
Huang Mei suddenly raised her head and said, "Miao Miao, why don't you go to the kitchen and help your sister-in-law cook? What are you doing here?"
Miaomiaomiao then realized that she had said something rude and quickly responded and went out.
Liang Yuan was about to follow him out, but Huang Mei asked her to sit over and started praising her in front of Mrs. Yang and Liu Ying. Of course, she mainly praised Zhu Youliang for his filial piety.
In the room, Zhu Yourong sat on the bed with her head down, and Yang Guangzhong sat on a chair beside the bed.
"Yourong, do you still recognize me?" Yang Guangzhong asked.
"Of course I don't recognize you. You look the same as before, unlike me. I've aged a lot." Zhu Yourong touched his face and said.
"Why, I think you look even better than before."
"When did you become so talkative?" Zhu Yourong looked up in surprise. As far as he could remember, he had always been a man of few words.
Yang Guangzhong couldn't help but laugh. "When I came here, I was a little worried that you wouldn't trust any man again after meeting Wang Jincai. Now you're still as innocent as before, that's great. Yourong, are you willing to trust me? Believe that I will let you live a good life?" In fact, he had always liked Zhu Yourong, but because of some things, the two missed each other. So when he heard that Grandma Yang introduced him to Zhu Yourong, he agreed even though he knew others would misunderstand him.
Zhu Yourong subconsciously wanted to agree, but Liang Yuan's words suddenly came to her mind, and she couldn't help asking, "Why are you in such a hurry to get married? I heard that your wife only got married last month."
The smile on Yang Guangzhong's face froze instantly. He put out a hand to cover his eyes and supported his elbows with his knees.
Seeing this, Zhu Yourong quickly said, "I'm sorry, if you don't want to talk about it, then don't talk about it. I'm just asking."
Yang Guangzhong was silent for a while before he raised his head and said, "It's okay, you're definitely not the only one who thinks this way. In fact, I sometimes ask myself if I don't love Xiuzhen at all." At this point, he paused, as if he had made up his mind, "Yes, I don't love her. I married her because she was defiled by someone and begged me to marry her. You won't believe it, but in fact, she would have died if I hadn't saved her. Over the years, we have been more like family. I was very sad when she died, but sometimes I feel it is a relief, both for her and for me. Sometimes I wonder if she really can't get up, or if she simply doesn't want to live."
