Chapter 59 Goddaughter

After Zhu Xingtong returned home, he saw Liang Yuan and Zhu Youliang looking at him together.

"Do you know?" Zhu Xingtong sat calmly in front of them.

Zhu Youliang looked at Liang Yuan, who in turn looked at Tongtong and the others. "Come on, I'll take you to eat some malt sugar. I won't give it to my sister because she's disobedient."

She should have stopped Atong after scaring Mrs. Chen into taking it back.

After they left, Zhu Youliang closed the door and said, "Atong, do you know that what you're doing is very dangerous? Especially since you're not even eight years old yet. If someone discovers your difference, do you know what that means?"

He and Liang Yuan didn't go out to join in the fun, but Zhu Yourong did. Ever since her engagement to Yang Guangzhong, she'd become much more cheerful. She was also good-natured, and Big Dog's wife loved to gossip with her about all sorts of things.

"No one knows it was me who did it." Zhu Xingtong said after hesitating.

"Once or twice is okay, but if it happens too many times, it will eventually lead back to you. In the interstellar age, your skills can allow you to gain a foothold anywhere, but here it may cost you your life, do you understand?" Zhu Youliang said with a worried look on his face.

Zhu Xingtong thought about it seriously, and finally nodded and said, "Dad, I will become powerful soon. Before that, I promise you that I will never use abilities beyond the cognition of the people here again."

Zhu Youliang felt relieved, but he remained serious and asked, "Are you going to do what you say?"

"I mean what I say." Zhu Xingtong said firmly.

Zhu Youliang said with some concern after hearing this: "If, I mean if, you are in danger, it is more important to stay alive than to be exposed."

Zhu Xingtong couldn't help but laugh, "I know."

Zhu Youliang reached out and touched his daughter's head. "A-Tong, you can try living like an ordinary person for a while. There are no endless star beasts here, and it's much safer than Planet 233."

Zhu Xingtong said, "Dad, don't you want to go back?"

Zhu Youliang shook his head. "We can't go back. Not to mention returning to Planet 233, even returning to the era of interstellar migration is almost impossible. Atong, perhaps you can wait until that day. I'm sorry, Mom and Dad can't wait with you forever. Dad knows you want to go back, and Mom and Dad will help you. But the prerequisite is that you stay alive and well."

Zhu Xingtong was silent for a while, and finally said, "I understand."

"Atong, don't feel sad for us. Our family should have died the moment we came here, but God gave us another chance, and we are already very content. Don't worry, your mother and I will try our best to live longer." Zhu Youliang said with a smile.

Just as he finished speaking, Liang Yuan pushed open the door and walked in. "There's food. Fourth and fifth sisters are here. Mom asked us to go to the old house for lunch."

Zhu Youliang stood up upon hearing this and asked, "Why are you here at this time?"

"I guess he came here specially because he heard that we were admitted to university." Liang Yuan said and looked at Zhu Xingtong.

Zhu Xingtong went over and hugged her, whispering, "I won't do that again."

Liang Yuan smiled and said, "It seems the talks were very successful. I'm not as good as your father when it comes to negotiating with you."

The family went to the old house and saw not only Zhu Youyan and Zhu Youmao, but also Zhu Laosan. Sure enough, they had heard that the couple had been admitted to university and had rushed back specially. They had to go back to work the next day.

Perhaps because Zhu Youdi often goes out, he is more talkative than others. After the brothers and sisters exchange greetings with each other, they basically sit and listen to him.

After lunch, when everyone had dispersed, Zhu Youyan pulled Zhu Youliang aside to chat for a while. Their topic was nothing more than the difficult times at home and their sick father-in-law, who they couldn't rely on. Hearing that Zhu Youliang had won a large bonus for college, she thought of borrowing fifty yuan from him to send her father-in-law to medical treatment so that he wouldn't be a burden to the family after he recovered.

The original owner had a good relationship with his third sister. Seeing her face, which looked even older than Zhu Yourong's, Zhu Youliang nodded in agreement. Unexpectedly, Zhu Youmao, upon hearing that Zhu Youyan had borrowed money, also wanted to borrow from him. However, he refused, simply because this woman not only married into the town, but also had a poor relationship with the original owner, having argued with her constantly since childhood and looking down on her. This angered Zhu Youmao.

Zhu Youliang ignored her, but Zhu Youyan came over to apologize, saying that she had accidentally let the cat out of the bag. Zhu Youliang didn't want to say anything to her, so he just told her not to think too much and went back to get the money.

Zhu Youmao failed to borrow money from Zhu Youliang, so she went to Liang Yuan. Liang Yuan didn't want to deal with her and said that Zhu Youliang was the head of the family. Zhu Youmao said that she couldn't spoil a man like this, and she would suffer sooner or later. Liang Yuan said that man was her brother, which made her speechless. She had no choice but to go to Huang Mei to reason with her. Huang Mei said that since the family was divided, she had no say and that if she wanted to borrow money, she should go to Zhu Youliang. Zhu Youmao left in a hurry without even having dinner, and no one tried to stop her. Of course, there was a reason for this. She had a falling out with her family not long after she got married, and this was her first time back home since then. Everyone was happy to see her back, but who knew that she kept bragging about how good her life was. That would have been fine, but after showing off and then asking for money, naturally no one supported her. Zhu Youxian said a few good words on her behalf, but unfortunately no one agreed. Zhu Yourong wanted to pull her along, but remembering Liang Yuan's words of advice last time, she stopped herself. She used to be so controlling, but her life wasn't going well. She should change from now on.

After Zhu Youliang gave the money to Zhu Youyan, she also said she wanted to leave. Her main reason was that her home was far away and it wasn't safe to go back at night. After she left, Zhu Youdi also went home. Huang Mei told Zhu Youliang and Liang Yuan that after they left for school, they would temporarily move into her yard to help take care of the two children. It turned out that the old couple had discussed with the eldest and his wife yesterday about bringing Ah Tong and Tong Tong to live in the old house. Zhu Youtian was fine with it, but Song Hehua disagreed. They made this decision to avoid affecting the relationship between the eldest and his wife. Zhu Youliang and Liang Yuan were eager to see the two children living in their own home, which was definitely better than living in the old house. Everyone was happy. Only Zhu Youjie and Zhu Youxian were a little unhappy. They ate with their parents, so if Huang Mei and her family moved out, they would definitely have to follow them for meals. Fortunately, they didn't spend much time at home, so it didn't affect the relationship much, so they didn't object.
