Chapter 64 What a coincidence

It was quite a coincidence. A few steps later, I ran into another acquaintance. It was Lin Yingxiu, whom I had met once on the train. At that time, she was being pulled by a man's arm. The man was holding a little boy, and he kept shouting, "Mom, don't you want me anymore?"

Before they could get close, an older woman ran out from the yard and pulled the man away. "What are you doing? My daughter has already divorced you. If you continue like this, I'll call the police."

Lin Yingxiu finally breathed a sigh of relief, but when she saw her son glaring at her, she nearly fainted. The man followed her gaze and angrily slapped the little boy on the butt, sending him into tears.

"Why are you hitting the child? If you want to hit the child, go back and do it." The aunt said as she was about to take her daughter back.

Lin Yingxiu followed her into the courtyard, feeling disheartened. Suddenly, she caught sight of Zhu Youliang and Liang Yuan from the corner of her eye. Her eyes burned, and she immediately turned back, urging her mother to hurry.

The man seemed frightened and stopped following. Instead, he started cursing. His curses mixed with the child's crying were particularly harsh.

Zhu Youliang and Liang Yuan naturally did not go over to say hello and just pretended they didn't see him.

Liu Nian was somewhat relieved. Even during the most difficult times, she had never considered marrying in the countryside. The only man she had found was also an educated youth. He had just been admitted to university and had returned home impatiently. She had never heard from him since.

Liang Cheng's new home was actually a two-story courtyard house left to Liu Nian by her grandmother. With two rooms in the front and two in the back, it was perfectly adequate for a family. When the group arrived, Liu Nian's mother was also in the courtyard. She was a little surprised to see them carrying so much luggage, but she didn't ask any questions and quickly asked Liu Nian to go to the kitchen to cook.

After they left, Liang Yuan said to Liang Cheng, "Second brother, your mother-in-law looks pretty good."

"Yes, it's my great fortune to marry Liu Nian." Liang Cheng nodded with a smile.

"It's best if you think this way. By the way, have you told your sister-in-law about Chen Yan? If she's doing well, it's fine. If she's not doing well, I'm afraid she'll come looking for you again. You're already a gigolo, and if you don't treat her better, you can't tell anyone." Liang Yuan kindly reminded him because he was able to bring her family to the new house.

"I'll tell her when I get a chance. But you don't have to worry too much. I won't stay in Beijing for long, and she won't be able to find me even if she wants to." Liang Cheng nodded and led them into the house.

"That's good," Liang Yuan said, and began to clean up. Remembering that it was her first time back home, Huang Mei had prepared a lot of local rituals for her, including cured chicken, cured rabbit, and dried vegetables, all of which Liang Cheng had given away for free.

"That's great. I'll take one to the kitchen and stew it for you tonight." Liang Cheng picked up a cured chicken and sent it to the front yard.

Liang Yuan saw that Zhu Youliang and the others were motionless, so he turned around and saw that all three of them were dozing off in their chairs, obviously they were all tired.

When Liang Cheng came back and saw them, he wanted to ask Liu Nian to prepare a place for them to stay, but Liang Yuan stopped him, saying that they were about to eat and asked them to just take a nap.

Liang Cheng only then realized how excessive his family was, but he didn't say much.

In the kitchen, Liu's mother was also asking Liu Nian, "What's going on with your sister-in-law? She's not over there, why is she here?"

Liu Nian glanced outside and then smiled, "Mom, today I realized how happy I am. We both went to the countryside, but I got my house back after I came back, but Yuanyuan didn't even have a place to stay. You don't know, that family knew they were coming and started eating without even waiting for lunch. And Yuanyuan had another hidden reason for going to the countryside."

Mother Liu said, "I noticed it last time. Every family is unrefined. Fortunately, Liang Cheng is not bad. You just need to live a good life with him and don't interfere in the affairs over there."

Liu Nian nodded: "I see. I'm just afraid that if I don't care, they'll come after me. But we won't stay in Shangjing for long. It's far away, so we might not be able to take care of them."

"That's right. Your sister-in-law can't see it yet, so wait and see. If it's possible, you can keep in touch with her. If it's the same as that family, just let Liang Cheng deal with it."

"Don't worry, Mom. I heard them talking on the way back. They both got into college. Maybe they'll have a better life than us in the future."

"Oh, that's really good." Mother Liu nodded quickly.
