Chapter 7 Gossipshuhaige.net

After handing over the pig feed, Zhu Xingtong took Tongtong home. On the way, they met Erya Zhu Xiangxiang who was returning from school. Zhu Xiangxiang took after her mother and was very beautiful. She had an aunt who married into the city. She often picked up her cousin's clothes to wear. She was also very good at tidying herself up. She looked like a city girl and was very favored at home. After she persuaded her mother to go to school, she felt that she was better than others and looked down on her sisters. When she saw Zhu Chunhua and Zhu Xingtong, she only glanced at them lightly and walked back home with a twist of her waist.

Zhu Chunhua looked at Zhu Xiangxiang with envy, then said goodbye to Zhu Xingtong and went back to her own home.

Zhu Xingtong also looked at Zhu Xiangxiang's back thoughtfully. She also had to go to school so that she could integrate into the place faster and everything she knew would have a source.

Before she even reached the door, she saw plumes of black smoke billowing out of the kitchen window. She quickly let go of Tongtong's hand, gave her some instructions, and ran to the yard. As she entered, she saw Liang Yuan standing at the kitchen door, coughing.

"Mom, did you burn the kitchen?" Zhu Xingtong asked as he looked at the black smoke filling the kitchen.

Liang Yuan rolled his eyes at his daughter and said, "The stove is clogged. It will be fine in a while."

"Mom, I want to study too." Zhu Xingtong said after he felt relieved.

"If you want to study, then study." Liang Yuan said casually, then seemed to remember something and said, "No, it seems my family is short of money. Otherwise, you can wait a little longer, go in the second half of the year, then you can skip a grade directly, and I will teach you."

"Okay, I'm not in a hurry." Zhu Xingtong nodded.

After saying that, she seemed to remember something and asked, "By the way, Mom, aren't you going to the fields today? Why are you back so early?"

Liang Yuanli immediately said, "Oh, Atong, you don't know, there are leeches in the fields. They look scary."

Zhu Xingtong blinked: "So you're asking for leave?"

"You are the one who understands me, Atong." Liang Yuan said embarrassedly.

"But you can't take leave every day, right?"

"Mom, is dinner ready?" Zhu Yuetong finally walked back home.

"Not yet, it will be ready soon." Liang Yuan saw that most of the smoke in the kitchen had gone away, and hurried into the kitchen.

Zhu Xingtong followed him in and sat in front of the stove.

Because of the busy farming season, many people have no place to go for meals and can only eat a bite on the ridges of the fields.

Zhu Youliang didn't want to go back either. He might as well take a break. Even though he'd been working for over a week, he still hadn't adjusted. It was through sheer willpower that he persevered. Now, he was slumped under a tree, waiting for Liang Yuan to bring him food. He was hungry; his stomach growled.

Fortunately, Liang Yuan arrived quickly, carrying a basket packed tightly with food. Since neither of them knew how to cook, they ate porridge every meal. He didn't mind it, and even thought it was delicious, gulping down two bowls in a few gulps.

"Are you tired?" Liang Yuan took out a wet towel with a hole in it and gave it to him.

Zhu Youliang wiped his face and nodded, too exhausted to speak. As a mechanical engineer, he wasn't usually idle, but that kind of tiredness was completely different from this kind of tiredness. Even here, he went to bed early every day, but he still felt exhausted. Fortunately, when he arrived, the busy farming season was almost over. A few more days of perseverance would allow him to rest properly.

"Old Liang, I have something to discuss with you." Liang Yuan said with a smile.

"What's the matter?" Zhu Youliang took off the straw hat on his head, replaced it with a wet towel and put it on his head, while he held the straw hat in his hand to fan himself.

"Do you think I can continue mowing the pigs?" Liang Yuan asked with some guilt. If she did less, the pressure would fall on Zhu Youliang. However, this was only temporary. Once they had a better understanding of the area, they could do something else and not have to worry so much about their livelihood.

As she spoke, she showed Zhu Youliang the wound on her leg.

"I told you that you did the work of planting rice, but you just didn't believe it." Zhu Youliang said with concern.

"I'm worried about this. You don't know, there are not only leeches in the fields, but also my waist feels like it's going to break after planting the rice seedlings for a while. You don't know how others looked at me when I asked for leave today. I have no choice, I really can't do it." Liang Yuan said while patting his back.

When Old Lady Zhang straightened up at a field two or three fields away, she saw Liang Yuan, who was wrapped up tightly.

He hurriedly called Huang Mei, who was standing beside him, and said, "Meihua, your sixth daughter-in-law is too pretentious. She already has several children, but she still hides them tightly when she goes to the fields. I say we're already married, why are you being so rude? Does she have some ulterior motive? You have to keep an eye on her for your sixth son."

Huang Mei glanced at Liang Yuan, her anger boiling inside. She immediately said with a sullen face, "Old Zhang, don't be so stubborn that you can't stand others being quiet. The sixth wife is weak and can't stand the sun. It's better to get some sun protection than to go to the hospital and spend money. If you keep talking nonsense, I will tear your mouth apart."

Old Zhang pouted, "This is really good intentions without good rewards. I was just reminding you. Believe it or not, that's all. Why are you scolding me? How come I look like an old tree bark? When I was young, I was the flower of the village."

Huang Mei spat to the side, "You are still a flower. People say flowers are stuck in cow dung, and you are also cow dung. You call this kindness? Your daughter-in-law wears red clothes and twists her waist all day long, and why don't you do anything about it?"

Old Zhang said aggrievedly, "I wanted to intervene, but no one listened to me. Forget it, I won't say anything more in the future. Just treat it as a fart."

"Hmph." Huang Mei snorted coldly and continued to plant rice seedlings. She didn't know how many times she had heard this.
