Chapter 8 I have thoughts

Liang Yuan had just arrived home when he saw a girl with pigtails standing at the door. This girl and the original owner were from the same place and had been good friends. She had previously been fond of the original owner's brother, but a few months after arriving here, she married the captain's son. Since then, their relationship had faded. She had come here this time, and no one knew what she was talking about.

Liang Yuan said coldly, "Chen Yan, do you have something to talk to me about?"

"Yuanyuan, haven't you forgiven me yet? I had no choice. I couldn't bear the hardship. Didn't you just marry someone randomly like me? Besides, your brother and I are in the south and the north respectively, so there will be no future." Chen Yan said with some sadness on her face.

"Okay, just tell me what's wrong?" Liang Yuan said impatiently. The original owner didn't blame her for marrying a villager. What really bothered her was that Chen Yan was secretly with Boss Chen and still wanted to keep her brother hooked. She felt that Chen Yan treated her like a fool.

Chen Yan's face was a little ugly. After hesitating for a moment, she took out a letter and handed it over. "This is Liang Cheng's letter. I brought it for you."

Liang Yuan snatched it away and, after just one glance, she noticed the envelope had been opened. She immediately looked up and asked, "Who told you to open the letter? You're so shameless as to peek at my brother's letter."

Chen Yan blushed and couldn't help but say, "I just want to know if your brother is doing well. I admit that it was wrong for me to read your letter, and I will never do it again."

Liang Yuan gave her a sarcastic look. "What do you think Boss Chen would think if he knew you had talked to my brother before and now opened his letter?"

Chen Yan was shocked and couldn't help but say, "You, didn't you promise me not to tell anyone about this? How can you break your promise?"

Liang Yuan: "Didn't you also promise me that you would be my sister-in-law?"

Chen Yan: "I... I had no choice."

Liang Yuan was too lazy to argue with her. After all, she was the captain's daughter-in-law, so it was not appropriate to go too far. So he said, "Forget it this time. If there is a next time, I guarantee that the whole village will know about it."

"Yuanyuan, you have changed. When did you become so mean and harsh? It's been so long. Why are you still unwilling to forgive me? I know I was wrong, but can't you give me some face? I have already taken the initiative to come to you for reconciliation, so why are you so heartless? Think about the days before we came here, we were so close." Chen Yan's face was filled with grief.

If the original owner were still alive, perhaps she would have forgiven him. However, Liang Yuan didn't intend to pay attention to her. This person's behavior really displeased her, and she didn't want to continue to be entangled with her, so she said calmly: "Haven't you changed too? Or were you the first to change? When I questioned you at the beginning? What did you say? I still remember it clearly. You still have the nerve to say that I am heartless? Didn't you regret it after seeing my brother get promoted? Are you still thinking that I will speak well of you and let my brother accept you again, so that you can leave the countryside and live your life again?"

Chen Yan's face paled after her thoughts were exposed. She wanted to turn around and leave, but she was reluctant. Although her family had both working parents, she had many sisters, so she couldn't rely on them if she wanted to go back. If it were just like before, it would be fine, but seeing so many people leaving and her having to stay here for the rest of her life, she felt a strong reluctance. So she rubbed her eyes and said, "Yuanyuan, I'll come see you when you've calmed down a bit." With that, she hurried away.

Liang Yuan waited until Chen Yan left before returning home with the letter. The original owner had two brothers and a sister. The eldest brother, thanks to his father's kindness, had a job at the machinery factory, while the second brother had enlisted in the army. The person writing now was her second brother. Let's not even talk about his ill-fated relationship with Li Yan. For example, the original owner's third sister was supposed to go to the countryside. But Liang Jing refused to go, even resorting to self-harm. Although she was stopped, she terrified the entire family. Liang's mother had originally planned to retire and give the job to Liang Jing, but her eldest sister-in-law objected. She said the job was hers, and if she changed her mind, she wouldn't give up the unborn child. There was a reason for this. Liang's mother had previously suffered a serious illness and had borrowed money from her eldest sister-in-law to recover. She considered the money a loan for her job and, naturally, never repaid it. Ultimately, the family pressured the original owner to give up her newly-approved job to Liang Jing. Because of this, Liang Yuan had no contact with her family for several years while in the countryside.

Because her second brother was in the army and had no involvement in this, she was still in contact with him. Every time her second brother wrote to her, it was nothing more than asking if she was okay, occasionally sending some money, but more often asking about Chen Yan's recent situation. He obviously wanted to know more about Chen Yan's well-being than his sister. Even after Chen Yan got married, he still didn't change this habit. The original owner sent him a letter to tell him about Chen Yan's faults, which meant that the two of them had broken up, and he also got his complaints, so the original owner ignored him. This time, he suddenly wrote to him, and it turned out that he had become the battalion commander and wrote to announce the good news. You know why he didn't dare to write directly to Chen Yan, isn't it because he was afraid of criticism, and Chen Yan is not having a good time here. Liang Yuan didn't understand it before, but she saw it clearly, this family is selfish, and they just bully honest people. Although the original owner was not really honest, he was still much better than that family.

However, in the letter, in addition to asking whether Chen Yan had returned to the city, there were also some words of reconciliation. It was simply that it had been so long and she had a home in the countryside, so she should stop complaining.

Liang Yuan just glanced at it casually and put the letter aside.

On the way back, Chen Yan felt more and more unwilling. When she was about to reach the door of her house, she suddenly stopped and thought that since Liang Yuan was unwilling to help, why didn't she write a letter to Liang Cheng herself. The reason why the two asked Liang Yuan to cover for them was because they didn't know whether they would have a future together. This was also right, otherwise she would have more trouble if she married Chen Lao Da. A few years ago, Chen Lao Da was quite popular, and her marriage to Chen Lao Da attracted a lot of attention. But now, those who did not marry villagers are happy. She herself regretted it. If she had not been married and had no children, it would have been easier for her to leave. But now, even if she could go back to the city, I am afraid Chen Lao Da would not agree. Although this man is simple, he is not easy to bully. What's more, Chen Lao Da treats her very well.
