Chapter 2239 Awakening

"Madam, Second Madam has woken up!" At this moment, a maid came to report.

“Princess, look…” Yun Shi looked at Gu Xin.

"I'll go take a look! Oh, and Madam Feng, could you please have someone call Que'er, the maidservant of Miss Feng the Third, to come along as well? Just Que'er," Gu Xin reminded her.

“Alright.” Madam Yun nodded, then instructed the maid to find Que’er, while she took Gu Xin to Madam Feng’s room.

Gu En and Fatty Wang followed behind Gu Xin. Both of them were quite curious, but Fatty Wang's curiosity was outwardly obvious, while Gu En's curiosity was inward, though he remained outwardly calm.

There was only one old woman in Mrs. Feng's room, who was feeding her water.

Her mental state was clearly not good. Gu Xin smelled a sandalwood scent, which should be used by the temple to calm the mind of guests.

"Mrs. Feng, are you feeling better? I have some questions for you," Gu Xin asked as she walked to the bedside.

Mrs. Feng looked up at Gu Xin but did not speak.

"Second sister-in-law, this is Princess Xinxin. She's investigating Jinshu's cause of death. You didn't want Jinshu to die in vain, did you?" Madam Yun sat down by the bed and comforted her, holding her hand.

"Sister-in-law!" Madam Feng cried as she was pulled by Madam Yun.

She didn't care about princesses at that moment; all she knew was that her daughter was gone, her only daughter was gone.

She didn't want to say anything to anyone; all she wanted was for her daughter to come back to life.

She had just touched her daughter's cold body, and she felt as if a thousand knives were stabbing her heart, making it hard to breathe, and she thought about just going with her daughter.

Madam Yun sighed, hugged Madam Feng and patted her back, then gestured for all the servants in the room to leave.

She glanced at Gu En and Fatty Wang, then looked at Gu Xin.

"You guys go out first! And close the door behind you," Gu Xin said, turning to Gu En and Fatty Wang.

Although the two wanted to stay, Gu Xin had already spoken, so they had no choice but to leave.

Gu Xin carried a stool to the edge of the bed and patiently waited for Mrs. Feng to calm down.

After a long while, Mrs. Feng's crying subsided, and she looked even paler than before.

"Princess, please ask whatever you have to say! This humble woman only hopes that the princess can catch the murderer who killed Jinshu and tear the murderer to pieces!" Madam Feng's voice was very soft, but her words were very firm, and no one could ignore the hatred in her eyes.

"Okay, may I ask if Madam Feng's nephew, Qi Yulang, has been corresponding with Miss Feng?" Gu Xin nodded and asked directly without wasting any words.

"This..." Madam Feng was stunned for a moment, then shook her head. "Impossible! Yulang has been disgusted with Jinshu for the past six months. He would rather die than marry Jinshu. How could he possibly be corresponding with Jinshu?"

“Second Madam, look, is this Qi Yulang’s handwriting?” Gu Xin had brought a less explicit letter with her, which came in handy at this moment. She took it out and handed it to Second Madam Feng.

Yun helped Mrs. Feng take it.

Mrs. Feng glanced at it only once before taking it with trembling hands.

Even after she finished reading, she couldn't believe it. When she saw the date at the end, she became even angrier: "What does Qi Yulang mean? He's writing letters to Jinshu on one hand, and on the other hand, he's making a scene! What exactly is he trying to do?"

Madam Yun patted Madam Feng's back gently, her face also full of doubt. She had also seen the date; it was from not long ago.
