Chapter 2353 Failure

Gu Xin sat at the table in the middle of the dining room, her eyes indifferent as she looked at Zhong Shi, who was still by the counter.

Everyone's hearts skipped a beat. What was going on? Why had Princess Xinxin suddenly changed her attitude towards the Zhong family? Could it be that she had found something out at the Hu family?

"Third Miss, have you found out anything?" Du San Niang stepped forward and asked in a low voice.

To be honest, she had thought Princess Xinxin was approachable, just like a little girl. But now that she exuded her aura, Du Sanniang realized that no matter how young the princess was, she had survived countless battles and death. How could she possibly be innocent, naive, and harmless?

"Boss Du, you'll find out about this soon enough." Gu Xin glanced at Du San Niang, then looked at Zhong Shi and said, "Zhong Shi, we've already gone to your house to investigate. Don't you want to know what we found out?"

Zhong was still sitting in the recliner, her face pale, somewhat flustered and frightened. She sat there without moving and did not answer Gu Xin's question.

"What? Do you want me to have someone bring you here?" Gu Xin's voice turned colder.

Zhong was stunned for a moment, and no one around dared to make a sound.

Gu Xin was acting too imposingly right now; they felt like they were seeing an official from a government office.

Zhong got up, slowly walked to Gu Xin, and then knelt down.

"Tell me, how much do you know about this?" Gu Xin asked.

"Your Highness, this humble woman...this humble woman knew nothing about it!" Zhong Shi said, her lips trembling. Her whole body was shaking, and the fear in her eyes was hard to tell what she had just thought of.

"You didn't know? Then why were you scared when I told you we were going to search your house?" Gu Xin asked again.

The people around were somewhat surprised. Was Mrs. Zhong scared? It didn't seem so; she seemed to have been crying the whole time.

Just now, it was as if she hadn't heard Gu Xin's words; she was just crying.

“I, I, this humble woman…” Zhong stammered, then tears kept falling, and she began to wipe them away.

“Crying won’t work in front of me. If you don’t talk, I can piece your son’s upper body back together and make you watch. Even if you faint, I’ll wake you up and make you watch again. Let your son see just how ruthless his mother, the mother he’s always protected, really is,” Gu Xin said coldly.

"No, no! Princess, please! I beg you! Princess, please, please don't do this!" Zhong was horrified, and then kowtowed repeatedly in pleading.

“Then answer my question,” Gu Xin said.

Only then did everyone look at the sacks that Gu En had placed next to the tray, and they couldn't help but take a few steps back, wanting to stay away from them.

"It was Old Liu, it was Old Liu! Old Liu accidentally hurt Qiangzi, Old Liu didn't do it on purpose, really, Old Liu didn't do it on purpose. Please, Your Highness, investigate thoroughly, Old Liu really just accidentally hurt him!" Zhong cried.

"Is that so? The deceased, Hu Qiangzi, was beaten by several strong fishermen, but he was only injured and not killed. Yet he was accidentally killed by someone who was already his defeated opponent? Zhong, do you think I believe this? Do you think your son believes this?" Gu Xin's eyes grew even colder.

“It was truly an accident, a true accident. Old Liu didn’t do it on purpose. Old Liu is going to spend the rest of his life with me, with this woman. How could he intentionally hurt my son? Old Liu didn’t do it on purpose,” Zhong emphasized again.

"Fine, then tell me the specific process!" Gu Xin looked at her coldly, no longer bothering to investigate whether it was intentional.
