Chapter 2081 Still Don't Know

Having this question in her mind, she naturally went to Master Xie's side and asked him about it.

"This..." Master Xie was taken aback, then said, "To be honest, Your Highness, my son has always been unruly. I used my brother-in-law's connections to get him into the Royal Academy. Fortunately, your father, Lord Gu, disciplined him strictly. Therefore, when Yun'er had the accident, I didn't send anyone to the Royal Academy to inform them. We only just received the news. I didn't notify them until I confirmed Yun'er's identity."

"Oh, is that so? Lord Gu's disciplinary methods are indeed quite strict." Gu Xin smiled awkwardly.

She knew her father's methods. He used to make her and her sisters wear sandbags all the time. She and Sisi wanted to slack off but didn't dare to. That alone showed how bad he was.

The discipline of Gu En was even stricter. In addition to martial arts, Gu En also had to study literature, and she was to take the imperial examination route, which was different from what her sisters studied.

For the first two years, Enzi complained every day, but she got used to it and stopped complaining so much.

Although the Royal Academy does not train scholars to take the imperial examination, it trains talents for all walks of life, and they are all spoiled brats. You can imagine the devilish methods her father used.

Gu Xin didn't recognize this Young Master Xie, but she had heard Manzhu mention him earlier, and Song Yi had also heard him say from next door that this Young Master Xie was often called in by his parents because he was naughty. Gu Xin figured he must be a spoiled brat!

“Good! I am deeply honored that Lord Gu treats all students equally, regardless of their status. I do not wish for my son to rise to high office, but only that he become an upright person, capable of independence, and that in a few years, he can take over the family business and bring glory to the Xie family.” When Master Xie spoke of his son, his heavy heart felt a little better.

However, the thought of his son causing trouble if he knew that his beloved younger sister, whom he had doted on since childhood, was gone is unthinkable.

But he couldn't care less about that now. Their Yun'er was gone, and even if his son caused a huge mess, he could only hope that he wouldn't go astray.

"By the way, Princess Xin Xin, may I take Yun'er's body home? Yun'er has passed away, and I wish to give her a proper burial," Master Xie asked again.

"I don't know yet. Let me ask Zheng the coroner and Gao the constable. This is only the second time I've handled a case like this," Gu Xin said apologetically.

Mr. Xie expressed his understanding, but still requested that Gu Xin allow them to take Xie Yun's body back as soon as possible.

Gu Xin looked around but didn't find Zheng Qiu or Officer Gao. Master Xie said they had gone down the well to look for evidence.

When Gu Xin arrived at the well, Zhang Bing and several constables were guarding it with torches. They greeted her when they saw her.

"How long have they been down there?" Gu Xin asked.

“The princess went downstairs just before she came out of the room,” Zhang Bing replied.

"Xiao Qiu, Officer Gao!" Gu Xin shouted down into the well.

"Third Miss, we've found something down there!" Zheng Qiu's voice came.

"Okay, I understand, I'll be right down!" Gu Xin wanted to go down and check immediately upon hearing this.

She didn't even need a rope; she spread her body out in a starfish shape, supporting herself with her hands and feet against the well wall as she slowly descended.

The constables had to admit that Princess Xin Xin was truly formidable in terms of martial prowess; even their leaders couldn't match her.
