Chapter 327 A large area

"Dad, are these flowers very valuable? You seem to cherish them so much." Gu Shouxin washed his hands, dusted himself off, and went to his grandfather's side.

“It’s worth the hundred taels of silver, isn’t it?” Grandma Gu said, squatting on the other side.

"Isn't that right? I'm telling you, Second Brother, you're really too thoughtless! These orchids are not easy to grow! You just brought them back like that without even thinking of getting some soil from their natural habitat." Grandpa Gu gave Gu Shouxin a reproachful look.

"I thought that because there was so much land there, it wasn't worth much, so I brought it back like this!" Gu Shouxin said with a smile.

Grandpa Gu's hand trembled as he buried the mud, and he looked up at Gu Shouxin: "What? A whole lot?"

That look in his eyes clearly said, "You're just trying to fool me."

“Yes! About twenty or so!” Gu Shouxin said calmly.

"Come on, come on, take me to see it, take me to see it!" Grandpa Gu didn't care about the two plants in the pot anymore and got up to ask Gu Shouxin to take him there.

"Brother Chuan, it's already dark, what's the point of going to see that? Let's go first thing tomorrow morning!" Grandma Gu quickly pulled him back.

“Tomorrow morning won’t work either. The slope over there is a bit steep, and it’s difficult to climb back up once you go down. How about I take the basins and bring them all back to your father tomorrow morning?” Gu Shouxin said.

Grandpa Gu calmed down, thought for a moment, and said, "Second son, if all of these are like this, bring back a few plants and take them to the prefectural city. There's a flower shop in Wutong Lane. Sell the flowers to that shopkeeper, and the price will definitely not be less than two hundred taels."

Grandma Gu understood what her husband meant. She looked around and saw that it was just the three of them. She nodded and said, "Second son, you'll be going to school in the future, and the expenses will be high. Niannian and Xinxin are also growing up. You'd better save more money."

Gu Shouxin felt a warm glow in his heart and smiled, "Okay, then I'll put them all in the basin, give half to Dad, and take the other half to sell."

Grandpa Gu waved his hand: "Two pots are enough for me. But don't take so many at once. Things become worthless when there are too many. Scarcity increases value. You should sell them to different shops in two batches; they'll be worth more. Your mother and I are old. Growing flowers is just a hobby; we don't need money for it. You two are young. Since you found the flowers, you should sell them and use the money for yourselves. Don't be as irresponsible as before, leaving all the money to Niannian's mother."

Gu Shouxin nodded obediently and said, "Okay! I'll do whatever you say, Father. Then take good care of her. I'm going home now. I've been out all day. Her mother and the child must be worried."

Gu Shouxin took a few steps when Grandma Gu called out to him, "By the way, Second Brother, Manager Cheng just came by."

Gu Shouxin stopped and turned around.

Grandma Gu added, "My second son's wife handled it herself; she just wanted to let you know. Ask her how she did it when you get back!"

Gu Shouxin quickened his pace to get home.

"Second brother, second brother, why did you run away? Wait for me! Weren't you going to ask Niannian to make braised rabbit?" Uncle Gu heard the voice and ran out of the kitchen.

"Father, the manager of Zuijianglou is here today. Second Uncle has something to do back home!" Gu Hui stopped her eldest uncle, who was about to follow.

"What's the manager of Zuijianglou doing here? Is he here to get yelled at? No way, I have to go and see!" Uncle Gu rolled up his sleeves and was about to go over.

"Dad, they left a long time ago. Second Uncle came not long after he went up the mountain. Are you going to go to the county town to yell at them?" Gu Hui said irritably.

"Why don't you go to the mountains and call me and your second uncle? Leaving your second aunt and two younger sisters at home, aren't they just being bullied all the time?" Uncle Gu glared at Gu Hui.
