Uncle Gu didn't care whether the two girls were hurt or not. He rolled down to the flat ground below and didn't see the crowd chasing after him. He carried one child on each shoulder and ran quickly down the mountain.
After running down the mountain, he encountered several strong men from the village, who were carrying various sharp farm tools. One of them was a hunter from the village, who was carrying hunting equipment on his back.
"Father Enzi, are there big cats in the mountains? I just heard a tiger roar!" The hunter, who was older than Gu Shouxin, asked seriously when he saw Gu Shouxin's expression.
"Yes, yes, Brother Da Chuan, there aren't enough of you guys. Call a few more people to come. I'll take the two kids to Aunt Xiao's place and come find you!" Gu Shouxin said and ran towards the village entrance.
The two girls were frightened and injured, and there was no medicine at home. He was going to take the children to Grandma Xiao's place to see her.
He ran all the way to Grandma Xiao's place. The gate was open, and Lu Zheng was drying herbs in the yard.
"Uncle Gu, what happened?" Lu Zheng saw Gu Xin being carried by Uncle Gu, her clothes stained with blood, and her little face covered in cuts.
"We've encountered a big cat. Xiao Yuan, quickly find a bed so I can put the child down and let Aunt Xiao take a look." Uncle Gu didn't hand Gu Xin to Lu Zheng; he carried her himself.
"Uncle Gu, come with me." Lu Zheng led Uncle Gu to the guest room on the side.
Hearing the commotion, Grandma Xiao came out and quickly followed to check on the two girls.
After putting the child down, Uncle Gu let out a deep breath, and then suddenly realized that his neck was itchy. He scratched it a few times, but the more he scratched, the itchier it became.
"Eldest daughter, they're just frightened. The injuries on their faces and hands are only superficial. I've stopped the bleeding and applied some medicine, and they'll be fine. I'll prescribe some calming medicine for the two girls later so they can sleep well tonight," Grandma Xiao said after examining them.
"That's good, that's good!" Uncle Gu kept scratching his neck. Now his hands were itching too, and he felt like he couldn't keep up with both of them.
"What's wrong with you?" Grandma Xiao asked Uncle Gu in confusion.
"Maybe he ran into some bugs while dealing with that big cat! He was too nervous and didn't notice," Uncle Gu said.
"Let me see." Grandma Xiao stood up, glanced at Gu Shouxin's neck, and couldn't help but twitch the corners of her mouth.
She gave the "scratch you to death" to the second son's wife, but the first person to try it was actually the eldest son?
That's amazing.
"Aunt Xiao, what's wrong with me? Did I get bitten by a bug?" Uncle Gu asked when he saw that Grandma Xiao's complexion was off.
“No.” Grandma Xiao shook her head, then said to Lu Zheng, “Yuanyuan, go get a packet of ear grass for your Uncle Gu.”
"What kind of ear grass?" Uncle Gu asked.
"You've been poisoned. Did you get some when Xin Xin was sprinkling the powder?" Grandma Xiao asked.
"It seems so. The big cat ate it all. Xin Xin is very clever. I can only pull them along for a while if I throw things to her." Uncle Gu said while scratching.
“Yes! But eldest son, you’ll be scratching for at least three hours. Even if you soak in ear fungus, you’ll still have to scratch for an hour. You have to scratch your whole body. I won’t just tell anyone about the stuff I’ve researched,” Grandma Xiao said, shaking her head.
"What?" Uncle Gu paused, then scratched even more fiercely.
"Uncle Gu, here you go, ear grass!" Lu Zheng came in with a packet of medicine and handed it to Gu Shouxin.
