As the two were talking, Wei Zihan came out. She had actually come out to find them and wanted to make things difficult for them.
"They really dare to say anything!" Wei Zihan walked over and mocked the article Chuanyu had just recited. "Outrageous! What's wrong with the Marquis of Changxing's mansion? It's one thing to bring home a bunch of country bumpkins, but how come even those raised in the mansion don't know the rules!"
As she spoke, she glared at Chuanwen. If her disdain for Chuanyu was merely due to Chuanwen's sensational article, her jealousy of Chuanwen was much deeper.
Ultimately, it's because they can't stand the fact that a country bumpkin has risen to prominence and become a phoenix, and is especially favored by the Empress.
"Huh? Who are you?"
Chuanwen looked at Wei Zihan innocently. Wei Zihan was completely speechless. It turned out that she had been tripping up someone all this time, and she didn't even know who she was!
"I am the youngest legitimate daughter of the Duke of Wei!"
Chuanwen was astonished upon hearing this, his eyes scrutinizing the other person's face. "But you don't look like her at all. I remember the Duchess of Wei had an oval face, big eyes, a high nose, and a small mouth. How come you are the complete opposite of the Duchess of Wei? You have a pointed mouth and monkey cheeks, triangular eyes, a flat nose, and a wide mouth. Could it be that you were switched at birth when you were a child?"
Actually, Wei Zihan wasn't as ugly as Chuanwen described, but she certainly wasn't that pretty. I guess that's another reason why she was jealous of Chuanwen.
Wei Zihan was so angry that she couldn't speak, pointing at Chuanwen. He actually called her a monkey with a pointed mouth and a flat nose! He said she had triangular eyes, a flat nose, and a big, forked mouth!!
"Seriously? You're so angry you can't even speak? I didn't say anything!"
Chuanwen sighed deeply, "Sigh, yet another one who can't even swear. There's no sense of accomplishment in bullying her..."
