Chapter 104 Holy crap! Zhou Cheng, you went to participate in a variety show?! (Part 3)

Zhou Cheng stared intently at the words "that man" for a long time, his feelings complicated and heavy. After a while, he clicked on it, changed his nickname, pinned it to the top, put down his phone, and went to bed.

But no matter how much I tossed and turned, I couldn't fall asleep.

Fifteen minutes later, Zhou Cheng got up again, changed the nickname back, and removed it from the top of the list.

Knowing her current temper, Zhou Cheng knew she would be angry if he opened her phone without her permission. He didn't want to argue with her, so after thinking about it for a long time, he decided it was better to go back to the original plan.

He secretly vowed that one day he would make her willingly show him her phone.

On Saturday, a new episode of "Man vs. Wild" aired on Jiangsu TV.

Qiao Nansheng officially resigned from the kindergarten on Friday. She arranged to go to the company for training with Jin Qi starting Monday. She doesn't have any special skills, so Jin Qi arranged for someone at the company to teach her. There will also be other people participating in the program with her.

Before 8 p.m. on Saturday night, Qiao Nansheng sat on the sofa with a bunch of snacks and fruits she had bought at the supermarket during the day. She opened the TV show, sat cross-legged, and ate the fruits and snacks while waiting for the variety show to air.

At 8:00 sharp, the variety show officially began.

The show opens with a one-minute clip edited from this episode, featuring all the most exciting parts. One shot shows Zhou Cheng and Han Ye sitting back-to-back under a big tree playing games, but unfortunately, Qiao Nansheng was peeling fruit and we didn't see it.

By the time she looked up, that scene had already passed.

Actually, the official Weibo account of "Man vs. Wild" had already announced Zhou Cheng's participation in this episode's recording during the day, and the Weibo account had already been flooded with comments.

The fact that Zhou Yingdi, who never participates in variety shows, actually participated in "Man vs. Wild" has kept the topic trending and remains at number one.

If Qiao Nansheng had checked Weibo, she would have seen it, but she hadn't logged in for several days and hadn't remembered to log in. She had been busy with the finishing touches at the kindergarten and learning some special skills these past two days, and had long forgotten about everything else.

Even with variety shows, Han Ye would send her a message in the afternoon to tell her that it would air that evening.

The one-minute trailer quickly passed, and the variety show officially began. The first scene showed the regular guests and invited guests meeting each other when they arrived. Because Zhou Cheng was late, he wasn't seen in that scene.

His image didn't appear on the screen until everyone was preparing to go into the mountains.

Qiao Nansheng stared at the figure on the screen, her face full of shock. Was that Zhou Cheng?

She thought she was seeing things because of the strawberry in her mouth. She rubbed her eyes and looked again. The image of the man smiling and greeting everyone, introducing himself, came into view.

"Holy crap!" Qiao Nansheng abruptly put down the plate of strawberries she was holding and rushed upstairs to her study. "Zhou Cheng, you went to participate in a variety show?"

He was busy working in his study, having a meeting with several senior executives of Xingji. Just as they got to the point, the study door was pushed open, and a woman's startled voice interrupted their conversation.

Zhou Cheng frowned, somewhat displeased.

He looked up toward the doorway and saw the woman staring wide-eyed, her face full of disbelief. She was chewing on a half-eaten strawberry, her cheeks bulging, looking a bit like a hamster hoarding its stock.

That slight displeasure vanished in an instant.

He looked away, finished speaking briefly with the executives, shut down his computer, and walked towards her.

"Watching a variety show?" he asked.

"Mmm." Qiao Nansheng nodded, looking at him with a face full of doubt: "You really went to participate in a variety show? Didn't you not participate in variety shows? Didn't you look down on variety shows?"

He has been in the industry for ten years and has never participated in a variety show. He has been invited to participate in shows such as "Man vs. Wild" and other variety shows more than once, but he has never participated.

They actually participated in "Man vs. Wild" this time? It feels unreal.

Zhou Cheng lied without changing his expression, saying, "Director Su invited me several times, and I couldn't refuse her kind invitation."

"Oh." Qiao Nansheng nodded without suspicion. Remembering the variety show still playing downstairs, she quickly turned and ran down. "Oh dear, I was so busy coming up to ask you that I missed several minutes!"

She hurried downstairs; half of her journey into the mountains had already passed.

The group walked along a deserted mountain path. The path was difficult to walk on after the rain, and the female guests walked carefully, but still slipped and fell. The thoughtful male guests reached out to help them and gently told them to be careful.

Zhou Cheng walked at the very back of them, alone.

Footsteps approached, and Qiao Nansheng glanced to the side. He was walking towards her. She took a bite of a strawberry and asked him vaguely, "Why aren't you walking with them?"

Everyone was walking in pairs, a man and a woman, except for him, who was alone...

Qiao Nansheng quickly realized what was happening and said, "Oh, you don't have any teammates."

"Yes," Zhou Cheng said calmly, sitting down beside her. "I don't like walking together."

In the show, he was with Han Ye and another female guest.

The female guest wanted to team up with him as soon as she arrived, and kept trying to get close to him and talk to him. Her thoughts and intentions were self-evident.

Unfortunately, he arrived late, and the team had already been formed. He was someone who was added to the team after he called Su Jing later, and it didn't seem right to suggest forming a new team.

Zhou Cheng didn't want to be involved in any scandals or cause any trouble, so when they went into the mountains, he didn't walk with them. He walked behind them alone, keeping his distance from the female guest. Han Ye, on the other hand, kept coming up behind him to talk to him.

Qiao Nansheng thought that with so many fans, if he were to walk with a woman and make any extra moves, it would definitely cause an uproar.

She said "oh" and turned back to watch the variety show.

A single episode of a variety show is only three hours long, but filming takes a week, and only the most appealing and marketable parts are edited out for broadcast.

The journey into the mountains passed quickly, and before they knew it, they were deep in the mountains. As darkness fell, the group began to worry about food and lodging.

We didn't see a single house for miles around, and the only food we had was some wild fruit by the roadside, which we didn't even know if it was poisonous.

As the team leader, Xu Yao suggested that everyone split up to find food and firewood, leaving only one team to wait here, so that everyone could find them when they returned.

Zhou Cheng, Han Ye, and another female guest went to find food. Halfway there, Tao Yun'er suddenly said that she had sprained her ankle and couldn't walk. She kept looking at Zhou Cheng, clearly wanting him to help her or carry her.

But how is that possible?

Before Zhou Cheng could react, Han Ye had already given his answer: "If you sprained your ankle, go back and rest. Anyway, you've only just walked a short distance. It's not far. I don't think your sprain is too serious. You should be able to get back by yourself, right?"
