Chapter 156 I Don't Need to Thank You (Part 3)

She closed the door, picked up her bag in one hand, and walked gracefully into the residential area.

Tang Xuerou stood up straight, walked slowly with small steps, and had the air of a well-bred young lady.

When she arrived at the entrance of the residential area and swiped her card to enter, she turned her head slightly to look at the roadside, but the car had long since disappeared without a trace.

Tang Xuerou tightened her grip on the umbrella handle slightly, then loosened it again.

When she got home, she looked at the umbrella and found it was a very ordinary umbrella that she could easily buy anywhere. She took a picture of the umbrella and saved it in her album, planning to buy a new one to return it the next day.

She kept this one.

Qiao Nansheng and Zhou Cheng returned to Shuixie Yunlan at 10 o'clock. The traffic was already worse than usual on a rainy day, and it was rush hour. Some people were driving too fast and ended up having car accidents.

They were stuck in traffic on the bridge for more than forty minutes.

Liu Xu reheated the food at home again and again until she was sleepy. When she finally saw the two of them return, she quickly poured the cold food back into the pot and reheated it.

Qiao Nansheng hadn't eaten anything all afternoon. At six o'clock, Amy and Xu Yanqing called her to go eat, but she thought she would be going back soon and could eat at home to save money, so she didn't go with them.

Going there would just mean eating dog food (a Chinese slang term for witnessing a couple's relationship).

Who knew I wouldn't get home until 10 o'clock?

Feeling like she was starving, Qiao Nansheng ate two bowls of rice in one go. She ate two-thirds of the three dishes and soup that Liu Xu cooked, while Zhou Cheng ate one-third.

In the end, all three dishes on the table were empty, except for some soup.

Zhou Cheng watched her patting her belly with a satisfied expression, then looked at the three empty plates, and his voice twitched slightly. He couldn't help but say, "Are you a pig? How can you eat so much?"

"..." Qiao Nansheng's happy mood just now collapsed in an instant.

She glared at Zhou Cheng with displeasure: "You're the pig! I was starving because I hadn't eaten all afternoon and half the night, okay?"

"Didn't you eat this afternoon?" The man frowned slightly. "Didn't Amy let you go eat?"

Training continues until night?

"To save money!" Qiao Nansheng said matter-of-factly. "The get out of class was at six o'clock, but I came back at eight o'clock. I thought it was only two hours, but who knew there would be such a long traffic jam on the way."

She was starving in the car just now, and her stomach was so upset.

"..." Zhou Cheng was at a loss for words.

This guy... why does he like money so much?

The two sat on the sofa in the living room and rested for a while. Qiao Nansheng was tired after practicing dancing all day. After eating and drinking her fill and resting, she felt sleepy.

She yawned, her eyes glistening with moisture, and she felt sleepy.

Qiao Nansheng picked up her phone from the coffee table, checked the time, and saw that it was already 10:30. She stood up, turned around, and walked upstairs.

Seeing this, Zhou Cheng also got up and followed.

Back in her bedroom, Qiao Nansheng grabbed her pajamas and hurriedly ran to the bathroom to wash up.

After dancing all day, she found the training room spacious but cold in winter, so the heating was on. However, as she danced, the room became hot, and she was covered in sweat, urgently needing to wash away the smell of sweat.

While she was washing up, Zhou Cheng also went to the guest room next door to wash up. When he came out, Qiao Nansheng was still inside. Zhou Cheng took the script, walked to the sofa, sat down, and crossed his legs to wait for her.

Qiao Nansheng came out after applying her skincare products and saw him sitting there, holding the script and waving it at her: "Come on, let's go over the lines."

She blinked, surprised, and asked, "Now?"

She's going to sleep, why is she still acting?

"Otherwise?" Zhou Cheng glanced at her. "It should have been done when you came back a couple of days ago, but it's been delayed until now. Have you forgotten what I said a week ago?"

"No," Qiao Nansheng shook her head and said, "but I'm so sleepy right now, let's rehearse in a few days?"

"Today is the 25th. In a few days, you will be going to the film crew to record a program. After the program, you will have to rush to the filming set of 'The Blooming of Pear Blossoms' the next day. Do you think you will still have time to rehearse?"

After listening, she thought about it carefully and realized that she really didn't have much time.

Seeing that the man seemed determined not to let her go to sleep until she finished acting with him, Qiao Nansheng had no choice but to fight off her sleepiness and go over to act with him.

For the past few days, she has been practicing dance and reading scripts at home every day, working on her acting skills. In just one week, which is neither a long nor a short time, her acting skills have improved a lot compared to when she auditioned with Mingqiu.

Zhou Cheng was slightly satisfied.

But it's still far from achieving the effect he wants.

Knowing she was tired, Zhou Cheng didn't linger with her for long.

The two acted together for half an hour, and when it was almost midnight, they let her go to sleep.

Qiao Nansheng was so sleepy that her eyelids were almost closed. When she heard that she could go to sleep, she immediately stood up and ran to the bedside. She was so weak that she collapsed onto the bed in a "big" shape.

"I'm exhausted." She sighed softly, then wriggled into the bed like a caterpillar.

Zhou Cheng stood in front of the bed, watching her wriggle around expressionlessly, her buttocks sticking out in a comical and funny way.

He pursed his lips, suppressing the urge to laugh, and coughed lightly, saying, "Can you just roll in there properly? Or do you want my help?"

As he spoke, he bent down and reached out to press his hand against her waist.

Qiao Nansheng froze, turned around to look at Zhou Cheng pressing down on her, her expression changed slightly, she quickly shook her head and said "no need" several times, and crawled to the innermost part using both hands and feet.

He grabbed the blanket and pulled it over himself, covering himself completely.

"I'm going to sleep, turn off the light," Qiao Nansheng said, closing her eyes.

Zhou Cheng gave a faint "hmm," then lifted the covers and lay down as well.

Qiao Nansheng was extremely tired. Her brain started to fog up as soon as her head hit the pillow, and she drifted into a drowsy sleep.

Suddenly, a cool touch came from her cheek, making her jump. She opened her eyes and met Zhou Cheng's gaze.

Seeing Zhou Cheng's face so close to hers, Qiao Nansheng seemed to be startled awake, her clear, watery eyes widening: "What are you going to do?"

She said this while wrapping her arms around herself, as if Zhou Cheng was about to do something to her.

A faint smile flashed in the man's eyes, and he casually explained, "A goodnight kiss."

Qiao Nansheng: "I don't need to thank you."

“No, you need to,” he said, then leaned down and kissed her left cheek again.

Qiao Nansheng's face turned ugly. This man... one kiss would have been enough, but he actually kissed her twice!

Zhou Cheng didn't care at all about the angry look in her eyes after she was kissed twice. Instead, he smiled and reached out to pat her head, saying gently, "Alright, aren't you sleepy? Go to sleep."

After saying that, he turned off the room light with his other hand.
