Chapter 52 I Saw It

She paused, then looked up at him.

The man's expression was cold, making it impossible to discern his emotions, while his dark, sharp eyes looked at her with a hint of inquiry.

Qiao Nansheng's heart skipped a beat, and she quickly lowered her head.

She explained, "You've mistaken me for someone else."

"I saw it."

"..."

The worst thing is when the air suddenly goes quiet!

Qiao Nansheng slowed her breathing a few degrees. "So, you're angry?"

Zhou Cheng fell silent and did not answer.

No response – does that mean you're not angry, or that you're tacitly acknowledging your anger?

She wasn't sure what he was thinking, and after hesitating for a while, she decided to tell him everything that had happened after school.

She kept it brief, finishing her sentence in just a few words, by which time the car had already entered the Zhou family's garage.

Zhou Cheng parked his car and turned to look at her.

Are you injured?

"No." Qiao Nansheng shook her head, opened the car door and got out. "I'm not in a hurry, I'll go in first."

She clutched her stomach and rushed into the living room.

Zhou Cheng stared at her back for a long time before getting out of the car. Suddenly, his gaze fell on the spot where she had sat, where a patch of blood red had appeared.

He frowned slightly, got up from the car, and called Liu Xu to handle the situation.

...

Qiao Nansheng came out of the bathroom, her face flushed red. Oh my god, her period had started.

Zhou Cheng must have gotten some on his car, right? His pants are soaked.

What about Han Ye's car?

Grass.

If it only brushes against Zhou Cheng's car, that's fine, but if it brushes against someone else's car, that's just... extremely embarrassing!

Qiao Nansheng was a little irritable. She scratched her head and quickly went upstairs to find new pants to change into. There were sanitary napkins at home that she had bought last time.

I had just tossed my pants into the washing machine to wash them when I heard two knocks on the bathroom door. A familiar male voice came from outside: "Are you alright? Do you have anything? Should I go buy it?"

Qiao Nansheng: "..."

With her cheeks flushed, she replied, "Yes, yes, yes! No need to buy!"

Then there was silence outside.

Qiao Nansheng waited for a while, and after hearing the footsteps gradually fade away, she was sure he had left before opening the door and going out.

I lay on the bed, feeling lazy and limp, not wanting to move at all.

My stomach feels a little uncomfortable.

She rubbed her lower abdomen, which felt bloated and painful, and was very uncomfortable.

Qiao Nansheng buried her face in the pillow, shook her head a few times, picked up her phone from the bedside table to call Liu Xu and ask her to make her some brown sugar water, when she heard the door to the room being pushed open.

She turned her head and saw Zhou Cheng, who had changed into his home clothes, come in from outside, carrying her special mug for drinking water, and the aroma of sweet and spicy ginger tea wafted over.

Qiao Nansheng felt her face burning up, so she quickly turned around and buried herself in the soft quilt as if she couldn't bear to face anyone.

"Have some," Zhou Cheng said, placing the cup on the bedside table. "Call me if you're not feeling well."

"Mmm." She nodded repeatedly, too shy to look up at him.

Fortunately, he didn't linger. After putting down his cup and giving her a few words of advice, he left quickly.

Qiao Nansheng sat up, picked up her mug, blew on it, and took small sips.

The freshly boiled ginger and brown sugar water was piping hot, and whether it was just psychological or something else, I felt much less uncomfortable in my stomach after drinking it.

She didn't have much of an appetite when her period started, and Qiao Nansheng didn't go down to eat dinner; she just lay in bed and went to sleep.

When Zhou Cheng brought her some food, he saw that she was sleeping soundly, so he didn't wake her. He took the food back down and then went to the guest room next door to rest.

In the middle of the night, Qiao Nansheng was awakened by the urge to urinate. As she got up to go to the toilet and passed by the door, she suddenly heard Zhou Cheng's voice coming from the corridor.
