Chapter 69 An Awkward Yet Polite Smile

Fortunately, it was them who stumbled upon it today; if it had been someone else, Zhou Cheng might have been trending on social media the next day.

As Qiao Nansheng listened to Grandpa Zhou's words, a blush instantly spread across her fair cheeks.

She bit her lip and glared at Zhou Cheng, then scrambled off him, explaining with an embarrassed expression, "Grandpa, we didn't do anything, please don't overthink it."

Grandpa Zhou nodded, beaming, "I know, I understand."

No! You don't understand!

You know nothing, what do you know?!

The elders looked at her with meaningful glances, and Qiao Nansheng felt extremely ashamed, wishing she could find a crack in the ground to crawl into.

She wanted to explain why, but she felt that what everyone saw was her on top of Zhou Cheng, and no matter how she explained, it would be useless; they would only believe what they saw.

So Qiao Nansheng could only give them an awkward yet polite smile, while cursing Zhou Cheng in her heart.

It's all his fault. If he hadn't deliberately touched her face with the hand that had caught the bug, she wouldn't have been angry. If she hadn't been angry, she wouldn't have jumped on him to "punish" him, and Grandpa Zhou and the others wouldn't have seen it and misunderstood.

Zhou Cheng is the culprit behind this farce!

Zhou Cheng, who had been cursed by Qiao Nansheng in his heart, sat up and calmly straightened his slightly disheveled clothes, which further confirmed the old man's guess.

The way the group looked at Qiao Nansheng and him became even more meaningful.

Zhou Cheng seemed oblivious. He stood up and walked towards the door, his tone quite reproachful, "Grandpa, why didn't you let anyone know you were coming?"

The tone of their voice sounded to Old Master Zhou as if they were blaming them for interrupting his good time.

In an instant, the smile on Old Master Zhou's face deepened. He pulled Zhou Cheng's hand and walked over, saying with a smile, "I sent a message to Nan Sheng, but she didn't reply."

Upon hearing this, Qiao Nansheng immediately took out her phone to check.

Sure enough, half an hour ago, Grandpa Zhou sent her a message saying that they were coming over, but she had been watching a horror movie with Liu Xu and the others half an hour earlier and hadn't looked at her phone at all, so she didn't know that Grandpa Zhou had sent her a message.

So if we really have to blame someone, it's her own fault for not reading the message?

Qiao Nansheng pursed her lips and remained silent.

Zhou Cheng turned to look at her and said gently, "They probably didn't hear us. We were watching a movie."

Grandpa Zhou noticed the horror movie playing on the LCD screen, then looked at Zhou Cheng and Qiao Nansheng and laughed, "I knew it! Nansheng usually replies instantly, but she hasn't replied for so long today. Turns out she's watching a movie."

After speaking, he added, "Not bad."

Qiao Nansheng was completely baffled and bewildered. What was wrong with watching a horror movie? What was wrong with it?

Zhou Cheng understood what his grandfather meant. He smiled, said nothing, and turned to call out to the four people behind him, "Mom and Dad."

Qiao Nansheng followed suit, her voice muffled, and she seemed quite uncomfortable in front of both sets of parents.

Zhou's father was rather aloof, with a blank expression, while Zhou's mother had a kind smile, and her parents...

Qiao Nansheng kept her head down, not daring to look them in the eye.

In her memory, Mr. and Mrs. Qiao were very cold to her.

Qiao Nansheng's relationship with her parents wasn't good, but it wasn't bad either. She always felt like there was something between them, and she still couldn't figure out why.

But the father and mother of the Joes here seem to be different.
