Qiao Nansheng sarcastically remarked, "Didn't you say we were bad? Look at your record, 0-10, and you dare to criticize us? You're the ones who will be reported later."
The two pretended not to see her message and the Qing soldiers led the way.
A few minutes later, the game ended, and Qiao Nansheng angrily threw her phone, yelling, "I'm so angry! I'm so angry! They're discriminating against me based on rank! I'm reporting them!"
Zhou Cheng and Han Ye didn't say anything, but silently clicked the report button, exited the page, and checked their mailboxes to see the feedback that the report was successful.
"Aaaaah! I got reported too! They deducted three points from my account!" Qiao Nansheng roared angrily. She had worked so hard to regain the points she had gained through gaming, and now she had lost them all.
Zhou Cheng gently comforted her, "It's okay, I'll help you fight back next time."
His phone died, so he couldn't make any more calls.
Qiao Nansheng understood the underlying meaning in his words and said, "Okay! Then we'll call again next time. It's late, I'm going to sleep, bye!"
After she finished speaking, she didn't give Zhou Cheng a chance to speak and hung up the phone directly.
The "goodnight" that was on the tip of his tongue was stopped and swallowed back down.
Han Ye watched as he turned off his phone and put it in his bag, then stood up as well.
On the way back, he hesitated several times, wanting to ask but not daring to. When they were almost back to their destination, Zhou Cheng suddenly spoke up: "Ask whatever you want to ask. Don't look at me like that."
That's disgusting.
Han Ye's eyes lit up, and he immediately asked the question that had been bothering him: "Brother Zhou, is that girl you were playing games with just now your girlfriend?"
"No." The denial was swift and decisive.
He added in his mind: Not a girlfriend, but a wife, the kind with a proper marriage certificate.
However, he didn't tell Han Ye.
Han Ye exclaimed, feeling inexplicably disappointed. It wasn't his girlfriend. Zhou Cheng had just been driving so skillfully with someone, right in front of him... Could she be his female friend?
He understands friends driving together, but can there really be pure friendship between men and women?
"Do I know him?" Han Ye asked again, unwilling to give up. "His voice sounds quite familiar."
Zhou Cheng glanced at him and said expressionlessly, "I don't know him."
Qiao Nansheng and Han Ye had only met once. If that counts as knowing each other, then let's just pretend he didn't say that.
Zhou Cheng had no idea that he had met Han Ye in kindergarten, and that his niece was her classmate. If he had known, he probably wouldn't have been so calm.
…
The two followed the road back to where they had been.
Xu Yao breathed a sigh of relief when she saw them return. She stood up and walked towards the two of them. "What have you been talking about for so long? It's been almost two hours. If you hadn't come back, we would have all set off to look for you."
"Sorry, I was held up by some personal matters and forgot to tell you," Zhou Cheng said apologetically, his face full of remorse.
Liu Wan yawned: "Now that everyone's back, let's go to sleep. It's past three o'clock, I'm so sleepy."
They hadn't rested since entering the mountains in the afternoon, constantly searching for food and a place to sleep.
Unfortunately, Mingshan was not closed to filming, and residents living nearby often went up the mountain to pick things. They searched for an entire afternoon before barely finding any food, and it was only enough for three people, which was not enough for the thirteen of them.
Later, they encountered some passersby on the way, and the female guests shamelessly asked them for some food. In exchange, they had to do the passersby a favor. They didn't get to eat until 10 p.m.
After dinner, everyone sat together chatting and playing games to digest their food. They planned to go to bed around midnight, but Zhou Cheng was gone for more than an hour. Han Ye later went to find someone, which also took more than an hour.
Time passed by unnoticed, and it was already three in the morning.
Everyone was exhausted and sleepy.
Their living quarters consisted of a large banana leaf; each person picked two, one to sleep on and the other to cover themselves with.
The girls slept together, and the boys slept together. Banana leaves were spread on the ground. Thirteen people, six girls and a few boys, each lay down in their own area, covered themselves with banana leaves, closed their eyes and fell asleep.
Zhou Cheng has a slight case of mysophobia and didn't get too close to them.
He slept on the outermost side, next to Han Ye.
Of all these people, he was the only one he was familiar with. He knew all about Han Ye, an artist under his company, and was also his "love rival." He was not familiar with the others and did not know if they had any strange quirks.
But Han Ye has it.
Zhou Cheng closed his eyes, trying to fall asleep. Just as he was about to drift off, a hand suddenly reached out and hugged him. The man stiffened and opened his eyes abruptly, only to see Han Ye wrapped around him with his arms and legs as if he were hugging something.
She smacked her lips a few times and mumbled, "It tastes like mom's..."
Zhou Cheng: "..."
Why don't you just say it tastes like your dad's!
The drone hovered in the air, filming even when they were sleeping; this scene was definitely recorded.
I wonder if Su Jing and the others are asleep. If they see this and find it interesting, they could use it as a hot topic for hype...
Just thinking about it made his face turn ashen.
Zhou Cheng reached out and pushed Han Ye away, then moved to the side to keep a certain distance from him, about half a person's width between them.
He turned his back to sleep, but after a while, Han Ye came back to him, this time muttering not "the taste of mom", but roast duck.
"What a plump roast duck! It smells so good... It can even fly! If I took a bite, I'd definitely be able to fly too... Hey roast duck, don't run away..."
As Han Ye reached out his hand towards him, and with his words, Zhou Cheng's eyelids twitched, and an ominous premonition arose from the bottom of his heart.
