Chapter 193 Thirty-one Cups of Coffee

Three hours ago, Kyoto.

A coffee shop called "Seven Colors of Time".

This cafe is located near the Kyoto Finance College. It has gone through more than ten years of ups and downs and has seen countless graduates from the Finance College grow from young to mature.

Mo Yan sat on a seat near the window and looked out.

As night falls and the lights come on, the streets are still busy with cars and people are still in a hurry.

A pair of college lovers walked hand in hand. The girl snuggled tightly in the boy's arms. The boy looked down at the girl from time to time. The two smiled at each other, feeling innocent and sweet.

Mo Yan was a little absent-minded. When she and Chen Ming were in love, they often held hands like this and walked into the coffee shop together.

At that time, Mo Yan had just graduated from the School of Finance and had limited financial resources, so he rented a cheap house near the school.

The company is far from the rental house. Mo Yan has to get up at six o'clock every day and take the bus for an hour and a half to get to the company. He often doesn't have time to eat breakfast.

Chen Ming had also just started working, but fortunately the company provided accommodation, so he rushed to Mo Yan's company every morning to bring her breakfast.

In the evening, Mo Yan continued to finish his unfinished work in the cafe.

And Chen Ming will also accompany her.

The two of them ordered a cup of coffee, inserted two straws, and took a small sip each, drinking from eight o'clock in the evening until the cafe closed.

Mo Yan remembered that after she became familiar with the people in the coffee shop, the owner once said to her:

"A boyfriend who can't bear to order a cup of coffee for you alone can't give you a happy life either."

Mo Yan didn't take it seriously at the time, thinking that this was just the boss's subtle way of expressing his dissatisfaction with the fact that they only ordered one cup of coffee every time they came.

Unexpectedly, it came true.

"Yan, I'm sorry I'm late."

A man wearing a suit and glasses, with a very elegant temperament, walked into the coffee shop and came to Mo Yan with a smile on his face.

Mo Yan looked up, his eyes moved, and he pointed to the seat opposite.

"It's okay, please sit down."

"Yan, it's been ten years, and you're still as beautiful as ever, and even more charming."

Chen Ming sat down, looked at Mo Yan carefully, and admired him sincerely.

"Oh, you haven't changed at all."

Mo Yan picked up the bag beside her and put it on the table, her tone sounding sarcastic.

"Yan, do you remember? We always liked to drink coffee here in the evening. When you were working, I would rush over from far away to accompany you for three consecutive months, without missing a single day."

Chen Ming leaned comfortably on the back of the chair. He was very tall and looked down at Mo Yan carefully. He felt that Mo Yan was more attractive than before and her figure was becoming more seductive.

He pushed up his glasses, excitement and greed flashed in his eyes, but his voice was still full of nostalgia.

"We were like this back then..."

Chen Ming reached forward and wanted to hold Mo Yan's hand.

"Yan, I really want to go back to the way we were before. I swear, this time I will spend my whole life making up for the hurt you once suffered."

Mo Yan withdrew her hand, preventing Chen Ming from touching it. She shouted to the counter, "Boss, that's enough."

"Okay."

A man who was probably in his fifties gave an order to several waiters, and soon, they brought up seven or eight cups of coffee at the same time, then returned to the counter and brought up another seven or eight cups.

After a few rounds, a total of thirty-one cups of coffee were densely placed on the table.

The boss personally brought over a plastic bucket with a garbage bag inside and placed it next to the table.

"Yan, you are..."

Chen Ming had prepared many touching words but had not yet said them, but now he was a little confused.

"You just said you've been drinking coffee with me here for three months."

Mo Yan ignored Chen Ming's surprise and said calmly:

"But we've only been here 31 times, and each time we only ordered one coffee."

She pointed to the densely packed coffee on the table and said, "I admit, I was working at the time and you were accompanying me. I owe you these thirty-one cups, and I'm paying you back now."

"Then, I have something else for you." After saying that, Mo Yan opened her bag, took out a stack of photos from it, and threw them directly in front of Chen Ming.

"Yan, what are you doing?" Chen Ming smiled, trying to ease the gradually awkward atmosphere.

But when he picked up the photo, he could no longer smile.

Each photo shows him talking to another man, and some of them are clearly taken in the CEO's office of Tianhai Company.

"I hired a private investigator, and these are the photos he took while following you."

Mo Yan looked at Chen Ming coldly and continued:

"Who is this person in the photo? You and I both know it, right?"

"Yan, listen to me, Mr. Feng..."

Mo Yan picked up a cup of coffee and poured it directly on Chen Ming's face. Then, amidst his screams and the frantic scramble to wipe his face with paper, he said calmly:

"Tianhai Company's CEO, Feng Zheng, specifically sought you out so I could help him convince Lin Yao to sign the contract extension. He thought you were my weakness, right? I'm curious, what did he promise you?"

Chen Ming saw that he had been exposed, so he simply stopped pretending. He looked at Mo Yan angrily:

"Mo Yan, you crazy woman!

Mr. Feng said that as long as Lin Yao is willing to renew the contract, he will let me be the deputy director and you will be the director. You ruined me once before, and now you should compensate me!

Mo Yan looked at this shameless man coldly:

"You cheated on me at your wedding and you blame me for ruining it?"
