Chapter 18 Xiao Pei's Reward
Ling Yue closed his phone expressionlessly, but the sweet discussion on the screen continued.
He moved quickly and silently blended into the depths of the dense grove beside the teaching building, choosing an old tree with lush branches and leaves and hiding on it.
The sky became increasingly gloomy, with gray clouds hanging low in the sky and the air filled with the stuffiness and dampness before the rain.
The light on the forest path was dim.
The two seniors who had been scolded by Lin Qingyuan hurried towards the dormitory, and couldn't help but complain in a low voice about the bad luck that had happened today.
"Damn, it's really weird, that kid Pei Heng..."
"Shh! Listen!" Another senior student suddenly stopped.
A sound of breaking air passed through the treetops, and a dark shadow flew past.
The two of them coincidentally recalled the legend of the "ghost in the sports school grove" that had been circulating wildly in the forums recently.
The ghost appeared at any time of day or night, coming and going without a trace, and even the security guards couldn't catch it!
They suddenly felt unwell.
After all, I'm in my early twenties, which is the age when I believe in ghosts.
"Fuck, run!" The senior student with glasses wanted to rush forward.
Just then, a dark shadow hung upside down from the tree above their heads.
I couldn't even see his face clearly, and his voice was chilling.
"Don't be so blind and go to Shen Shihe Hall... Pei Heng." Ling Yue paused and corrected the address, "to make him angry."
The upside-down black shadow swayed slightly, and the hand wrapped in black cloth stretched out and made an extremely slow and creepy digging motion.
"Otherwise, dig up this pair of eyes."
With a dull thud, their heads collided hard, stars appeared in front of their eyes, and they grimaced in pain.
"Ouch!"
"hiss!"
The two men covered their painful foreheads and looked around in horror. Where was the human figure?
There was only the rustling of leaves in the wind and the dark clouds growing heavier overhead.
"Ghost!" The senior student with glasses said in a trembling voice.
"No...it's not a ghost! It's something that's neither human nor ghost!" Another voice trembled even more violently.
Even things like this help Pei Heng, what kind of world is this!
—
The sky remained in that oppressive gray throughout the afternoon.
It was not until the evening bell rang that the wind on campus suddenly picked up, blowing up fallen leaves and dust on the ground, and the earthy smell of rain in the air became stronger.
Heavy rain is coming.
Among the supermarket shelves, Pei Heng was looking at his phone to select the potato chip flavor that Zhou Jingming wanted, when suddenly Shen Shi's voice rang in his ears.
"husband."
Pei Heng nodded subconsciously, then reacted and felt his ears burning.
"Shen Shi, don't shout in public."
Shen Shi smiled as he unscrewed the bottle of mineral water he had just bought and took a sip. Without refutation, he meekly followed Pei Heng towards the beverage area.
When passing the corner of a shelf, he turned back seemingly unintentionally and glanced at the handsome boy who was eager to approach and chat with him not far away.
His eyebrows were slightly lowered, and a hint of coldness appeared under his thick black eyelashes.
The boy was startled by the look on his face and stepped back awkwardly.
Walking to the shelf where drinks were placed, Shen Shi picked up the sweet drink that Pei Heng loved to drink and put it into the shopping cart.
He turned his head to look at Pei Heng's profile with a high nose bridge, "Ah Heng, now... do you like me a little bit?"
Pei Heng was reaching for the peach juice on the shelf, but stopped when he heard this.
He turned around, leaned his back against the shelf, and looked at Shen Shi seriously, "Why do you ask that?"
Shen Shi met his gaze, a smile spreading in his eyes, "To care is to like. You protect me and stand up for me. Don't you like it?"
Pei Heng frowned and thought, his reasoning quite logical.
"You like me."
Shen Shi nodded without hesitation, "Yeah."
Pei Heng continued, "So, you always want to kiss me."
Shen Shi rubbed his earlobe and nodded again.
So Xiao Pei made a summary, took out a Bluetooth headset and put it into Shen Shi's left ear, ending the topic.
"Then when I want to kiss you, I like you."
Shen Shi laughed, his chest filled with soft bubbles.
"good."
—
When I came out of the supermarket, the rain that had been brewing all afternoon finally fell.
The big raindrops hit the concrete ground with a crackling sound, and the air was filled with the unique smell of wet streets, which slightly dispelled the heat.
The cool breeze after the rain hits you in the face, carrying with it the unique vitality of summer.
"It's raining." Pei Heng looked at the dense rain and put his shopping bags on the inside of the steps at the entrance of the supermarket to shelter from the rain.
"I'm going to buy an umbrella."
Shen Shi said, then turned around and went back into the supermarket.
Pei Heng stood on the wide steps at the entrance of the supermarket and touched his pocket.
The phone was with Shen Shi, and the music in his right ear was stuck and then disconnected.
The raindrops hit the ground rapidly, forming a noisy yet quiet white noise.
Parts of the asphalt street were soaked and turned dark black, reflecting the vague glow of street lamps and the figures of pedestrians hurrying by.
Pei Heng looked at the overwhelming rain curtain in front of him, thought of the conversation in the supermarket, and couldn't help but smile.
The inner Xiao Pei said that if Shen Shi could come back before the raindrops completely covered the street, he would give him a reward.
He was looking at the street under the rain, when he suddenly looked up and heard the music coming back in his headphones.
A transparent umbrella was held above his head, blocking out the noisy sound of rain.
Pei Heng took off his headphones, and the sound of rain instantly became clear.
He turned around.
Shen Shi stood behind him, holding the umbrella steadily.
The umbrella extended outwards over the steps, and countless raindrops fell down, gathering into tiny streams of water, separating the small world under the umbrella from the wet world outside.
Water droplets dripped from the edge of the umbrella, hitting the steps and splashing tiny water droplets.
The bright lights of the supermarket shone softly on Shen Shi's handsome face through the transparent umbrella.
"Congratulations." Pei Heng said.
Shen Shi was slightly startled, "Hmm?"
Pei Heng took out a newly bought strawberry-flavored lollipop, tore open the candy wrapper, and pressed the pink candy to the corner of Shen Shi's lips.
It's nonsensical, like an important award being presented.
"Give your acceptance speech."
Shen Shi looked at Pei Heng's eyes, which were particularly bright under the transparent umbrella, and his heart seemed to be wrapped in warm syrup.
He lowered his head slightly, took Pei Heng's hand, and held the lollipop with his lips.
The sweet strawberry flavor spreads on the tip of the tongue.
Shen Shi held Pei Heng's fingers that were still holding the candy wrapper, and rubbed his fingertips on the delicate skin.
"Can I kiss you today too?"
Pei Heng felt the soft touch on his wrist, and his heart felt like it was being hit by raindrops.
The sound of raindrops became the only background sound at this moment.
Pei Heng looked closely into Shen Shi's eyes, and suddenly reached out and grabbed Shen Shi's wrist that was holding the umbrella.
He tilted his head slightly, and the corner of his lips touched the inside of Shen Shi's wrist.
In the summer rain and fog, a kiss that couldn't be any lighter.
Chen Shi trembled when he was kissed, and the trajectory of the water flow on the umbrella was disrupted.
The throbbing grows, and the desire is about to burst through the ribs.
