Chapter 51 I Love You, Jade Ring and Secret
Pei Heng rarely woke up earlier than Chen Shi.
The sky outside the window was getting brighter, and he calmed down. The lingering fear brought by the heavy and vivid dream had not yet completely dissipated.
Pei Heng couldn't help but hug the person in his arms tightly.
Shen Shi was sleeping soundly. Pei Heng lowered his head and restlessly placed many kisses on his forehead, slightly closed eyelids, and slightly swollen lips.
Shen Shi was in a light sleep, her eyelashes trembling from the kiss, and she buried herself in his arms, "Hubby."
Pei Heng hummed softly, rubbing Chen Shi's soft earlobe with his fingertips, still thinking about the wedding that ended in failure and those gray eyes in his dream.
He was silent for a while, then asked softly, "Chen Shi, did we get married later?"
Upon hearing this, Shen Shi slowly opened his eyes, his eyes still hazy from just waking up.
Then he realized that Pei Heng might have recalled a not-so-good memory from his previous life.
He leaned over and kissed Pei Heng's unhappy brow soothingly, saying in a gentle voice, "It worked. Later... my eye disease was cured by the imperial physician. Although my vision is not as clear as before, it is no longer a problem."
Pei Heng listened, and his heart finally settled down. He let out a breath and buried his face in the warm crook of Shen Shi's neck.
"That's good."
In the early morning of late autumn, the bed is warm, which is perfect for lovers to whisper in each other's ears.
After being in love for a while, Pei Heng suddenly remembered something, jumped out of bed barefoot, took out something from the pocket of his coat that he had left on the sofa last night, and quickly got back into bed, hugging Shen Shi tightly again with a cool breath.
"Chen Shi," he said solemnly, "I'm going to tell you a secret."
"I promised you before, I'll tell you when I get the calligraphy back."
Shen Shi was intrigued by his serious look and couldn't help but lean over and kiss his chin again.
"Well, you talk, and I listen."
Pei Heng looked into Shen Shi's eyes and said seriously, "I dreamed of you many times before you appeared, especially when I was a child."
"When you were a child?" Shen Shi was a little confused.
He took the phone that Pei Heng handed him. On the screen was Pei Heng's encrypted private diary, which he had never shown to anyone before.
It contains photos of trivial diaries from many years ago, and the brushstrokes are still very immature.
He quickly glanced through a few pages and saw that Pei Heng always mentioned vague comfort and support when he had no courage and felt lonely.
Shen Shi raised his head and looked at Pei Heng, "What happened later? But when you first saw me in the dormitory at the beginning of the school year... you didn't seem to recognize me?"
Pei Heng pursed his lips, his face showing no obvious emotion, "At that time... I only remember your eyes."
He talked about that very strange past, "When I was a child, I often had those bizarre dreams, and sometimes I couldn't distinguish between dreams and reality."
"My mother was very worried, so she called Su Muzhe, who said I was delusional."
Shen Shi: “…”
Pei Heng said it in a joking tone, but his heart was filled with intense pain.
He reached out his hand and embraced Pei Heng in his arms, unable to suppress the regret and heartache, "It's not delusion, it's all true. I really regret not having my memories earlier and appearing by your side earlier."
Pei Heng was held so tightly by him that he felt a little breathless, but he did not struggle.
He turned his head and put his cheek against Shen Shi's face, "I'm not sad."
"Just telling you that you've already been protecting me even before you actually showed up."
"Many times."
So, when Chen Shi first appeared and said to him such absurd and bizarre words as "We fell in love in a dream", Pei Heng's heart was stirred by a small whirlwind that only he knew about.
After the whirlwind, seedlings grew out, and today, they have been watered by unreserved love and grown into towering trees with lush branches and leaves that can no longer be shaken.
Pei Heng opened his palm, and there was something lying inside. It was the ring he had won, strung together with an intricately woven red rope to make a necklace.
He put the red string around Shen Shi's neck and said, "This is for you."
Pei Heng said, "You must keep it well."
He didn't tell Shen Shi that when he saw the picture of the ring in Teacher Yan Ke's class that day, the first thought that came to his mind was that he wanted to win the ring back and give it to Shen Shi.
Xiao Pei never thought that he would love someone so much.
He really likes Shen Shi.
Shen Shi lowered his head and looked at the warm and translucent jade ring on his chest. His fingertips brushed across the cool jade surface, and a sour heat appeared in front of his eyes.
He kissed the ring cherishingly, then leaned over and kissed Pei Heng deeply on the lips.
This kiss is full of love that is about to overflow.
"I love you." Shen Shi said.

The misunderstanding here was resolved. When Pei Heng received a call from Zhou Jingming, he finally remembered that he had a comrade-in-arms who was giving him advice and was worried.
Pei Heng leaned lazily against the headboard and answered the phone, "Brother Zhou."
On the other end of the phone, Zhou Jingming yelled. The worry and curiosity he had been holding back the whole night made him anxious, but he didn't dare to ask directly.
He threw the phone into the hands of Chen Yu, who was forced to join the game, and urged in a low voice, "Pei Hengheng picked up the phone. Ask the inner court spy quickly, what's the result?"
Chen Yu reluctantly took the phone and cleared his throat. "Ahem, Pei Hengheng, how was your conversation with Shen Shi...?"
Pei Heng narrowed his eyes cunningly and glanced at Chen Shi, who was helping him cut the breakfast steak at the small coffee table beside the bed. He deliberately dragged out his tone and spoke in a low voice.
"Alas...Chen Shi ignored me."
Shen Shi paused, raised his eyes, raised his eyebrows and looked over, then picked up a piece of steak cut to the perfect size and handed it to his mouth.
Pei Heng winked at him, opened his mouth and ate it, chewing while making vague "hmm" sounds into the phone, and continued his performance.
"Yeah... I don't know what to do. He seems to still be very concerned about the mistakes he made in his previous life."
Little Pei chews, chews, chews.
Chen Yu was silent for a few seconds, and Zhou Jingming's frantic voice could be heard faintly in the receiver, "...What should I do?"
Chen Yu's voice also sounded a little embarrassed, "Did Chen Shi really ignore you? This...things from the previous life, do we still have to pursue them to the present?"
Pei Heng chewed on the juicy steak and continued to mumble, "Yeah." Chew, chew, chew. "I don't know what to do either. You and Brother Zhou, please help me think of a solution." Chew, chew, chew.
Chen Yu: "..." He listened to the chewing sounds on the other end of the phone and couldn't help asking, "What are you eating?"
Pei Heng stopped chewing and said, "Steak."
Zhou Jingming's voice almost broke through the receiver, "It's already this time and you're still eating steak, Pei Hengheng, your love is about to be broken!"
Pei Heng swallowed the meat in his mouth, and was fed another piece by Shen Shi. He could only continue chewing, looking very innocent. "Then I'll have beef ribs tonight?"
Zhou Jingming: "...Is it a question of what to eat?"
Chen Yu snatched the phone back and resigned himself to his fate. "Alright, it's better to eat more. Zhou Jingming and I will think of a solution."
It sounds like he wants to hang up and think it over.
Pei Heng finally couldn't help but chuckle, and handed the phone to Shen Shi, motioning him to answer it.
Shen Shi took the phone and greeted him.
Chen Yu on the other end of the phone was stunned. Zhou Jingming was still wailing in the background. "Oh no, oh no! Shen Shi answered the phone! Was Pei Hengheng forced to be locked up in the small dark room? I knew something was wrong!"
Pei Heng: “?”
Shen Shi: "...There is no small dark room."
He was a little amused and kissed Pei Heng's nose, then explained to the other end of the phone, "It's a misunderstanding. Shen Yunqing is my pen name."
There was silence on the other end of the line.
A few seconds later, Zhou Jingming erupted in a louder voice, "Damn it! I was worried all night! I imagined eighty episodes of tragic love!"
"As compensation for emotional distress, you have to treat us to steak, the most expensive one!"
Shen Shi chuckled and replied, “Okay.”
