Chapter 39

Chapter 39

A gray figure gripped the steering wheel, his foot pressing down hard on something.

The four of them sat on two rows of seats on either side of the aisle. The train conductor sat in the first row behind the driver's seat, Xiaolong sat next to the train conductor across the aisle, and Jiang Lan sat behind Xiaolong.

Except for Xiao Gu, who was sitting in the second row behind the driver's seat and couldn't see Gray Shadow's movements, the other three people all saw Gray Shadow's actions and carefully looked at Gray Shadow's feet. Good heavens, it was really outrageous.

It's like saying, "May all my wishes come true." The dreamer thought there should be an accelerator and brakes on the train, and sure enough, they grew out right away.

Xiao Long and the train conductor stared wide-eyed, their faces filled with shock, as if to say, "This is possible?!!" Jiang Lan, for some reason, just felt like laughing.

The train continued to accelerate, but unusually, only a few seconds later, the train's speed increased to the level of normal operation, and the broken track was very close. Seat belts appeared on everyone's chests, restraining them to their seats.

In the blink of an eye, the locomotive seemed to break free from inertia and plummeted downwards at an angle perpendicular to the bridge surface.

The train's speed, combined with the acceleration of free fall, made it impossible for the people, who were firmly strapped to their seats, to open their eyes due to the strong wind blowing in their faces.

Except for Jiang Lan, who gritted her teeth and tried to open her eyes, the others clung tightly to the handrails, screaming incessantly, accompanied by the sharp hissing sound of the train wheels rubbing violently against the rails.

Just by listening to the sound, you can imagine the scene of sparks and lightning.

Wait a minute! How could a train falling into a pond make the sound of rails scraping against each other?!

The wind subsided, and Jiang Lan barely opened her eyes. Looking at the white light in front of her and the black track extending into the white light, the scenery on both sides turned into black and white lines and swept backward. She couldn't help but show a shocked expression with her lips slightly agape.

The other three also opened their eyes one after another, and then showed the same expression as Jiang Lan.

Xiao Long muttered to himself, "If I report this to the authorities, will they believe me?"

After traveling for a while through the light and shadow tunnel that resembled special effects, the gray figure raised its hand and tugged at the rope again. [Clang! Clang!]

In the white light ahead of the train, the scene gradually came into view: a familiar mountain stream, a concrete viaduct appearing beneath the tracks, but what was that enormous machine about to collide with them?!

"Brake! Apply the brakes!" the train conductor shouted.

The gray figure didn't step on the brakes, but simply pulled the rope again at a leisurely pace. With a clanging sound, the huge machine started moving at an unbelievable speed, accelerating instantly and driving forward before disappearing from everyone's sight.

“I’ve lived in Kyoto, and I know that when the bell rings on a tram, it means pedestrians should give way. This… this also means the bridge-building machine should give way?” Xiao Gu’s voice sounded somewhat dreamy.

Perhaps having had enough of the thrill of speeding like a train, the gray shadow stepped on the brakes, and the speed gradually decreased, beginning to move forward at a steady pace.

The broken bridge on one side, the familiar mountain stream, and the pool below all seemed to tell everyone that the train had been driven onto the newly built bridge.

The seatbelt was gone from his chest. Xiao Long stood up and said, "I'm going to check the situation in the back of the carriage. What about you guys?"

Xiao Gu also stood up: "Brother Long, I'll go with you."

Just as Jiang Lan was about to get up, the gray figure suddenly stood up.

This change startled everyone, putting their hearts on edge once again.

Jiang Lan said, "Xiao Long, go to the back carriage. The train conductor and I will handle any emergencies here."

Xiao Long nodded, then said to Xiao Gu, "You stay."

"yes."

Watching Xiaolong leave, the gray figure who was standing walked out of the driver's seat, stomped his foot on the open ground, then leaped onto the railing of the locomotive, jumped forward, jumped off the train, and ran on the tracks in front of the locomotive.

The group exchanged bewildered glances, watching the dream weaver's bizarre actions for a while. The junior advisor, Jiang Lan, said, "Brother Lan, do you think he's a Naruto fan? His movements are exactly like those of the ninjas in the anime."

Jiang Lan gritted her teeth, suppressing her laughter: "Maybe. You can go back and report that this dream weaver might be a delusional teenager."

The dreamer, who had been racing against the train, returned to the driver's seat, whether he had had his fill of speed or something else.

As the others watched her sit there and start nodding like a chick pecking at rice, Jiang Lan breathed a sigh of relief: "Alright, the adventure is finally over."

I had a good night's sleep and feel refreshed.

Xiao Ming got up early, washed up, cooked two bowls of noodles in the kitchen, and then went to the bedroom to wake Jiang Lan up.

After turning off the humidifier and air conditioner, Xiaoming sat on the edge of the bed and carefully examined Jiang Lan.

He slept wearing only a pair of shorts, his upper body bare, his muscular arms exposed outside the blanket, and a thin silver chain around his neck, exactly the same as the one he wore.

After the gold necklace broke, he bought a pair of sturdy couple necklaces and coaxed her to wear them.

The bluish bruises under his eyes had disappeared, and his lips had regained their rosy luster, finally putting Xiaoming's mind at ease.

He couldn't resist lowering his head and kissing the sleeping beauty's red lips on the bed. Seeing that there was still no response, he sucked harder a few times, but still no response.

Xiao Ming chuckled softly, still pressed his lips to Sleeping Beauty's, and then pinched her nose.

Before long, she was embraced by a pair of large hands, and then the world spun around her as Sleeping Beauty pinned her down on the bed.

After being pressed and kissed for a while, Xiaoming stammered, "...the noodles...are burnt...I'm late..."

Jiang Lan then got off the bed and said as she walked out, "I'll let you go for now."

Xiao Ming was left lying on the bed, questioning his existence. He recalled the heat and touch he had just felt against Jiang Lan's body. Hadn't he scareed him enough last time? Was this enough again? Was this a double loss? A punishment in name only, a reward in reality?

He silently walked to the dining table, sat down, and began to eat his noodles.

Jiang Lan sat down after tidying up and noticed Xiao Ming's face changing expressions. She reached out to touch her forehead and asked, "Why is your face turning pale and then red? Are you feeling unwell?"

Xiao Ming was stung by his words and, fearing to reveal his intentions, swallowed back the rebuttal that was about to come out. He was then bitten on the tip of his tongue, and tears almost welled up in his eyes from the pain.

Jiang Lan quickly handed her the water glass and gently patted her back: "Drink some water, did you choke?"

Xiao Ming took the water, took a sip, stuck out his tongue and pointed, then mumbled as he asked Jiang Lan, "Is it broken?"

Jiang Lan examined it carefully: "It's a little broken. After breakfast, I'll spray some mouth ulcer spray on you."

Xiao Ming nodded.

After eating and changing my clothes, I went to work with the smell of medicine on my breath.

Not long after starting work in the afternoon, Jiang Lan received a message from Xiao Long: "[The accident has been resolved. The area was small, and the investigation was quick. Construction on the new bridge caused changes in the geological structure, and several days of rain caused the bridge piers to shift, tearing open the bridge deck. Fortunately, the notification was timely, and the car stopped before reaching the bridge. However, due to the sudden braking, many people were caught off guard; luggage from the luggage rack fell and injured two people, and three others lost their footing and fell, sustaining injuries.]"

With her heart at ease, Jiang Lan felt relieved and picked up her phone to text Xiao Ming: "Is your tongue feeling better? Remember to spray the medicine a few more times. Be good.JPG"

[Yeah, I've sprayed it several times, and it doesn't hurt anymore. Happy.JPG]

When Liu Zhen knocked on the door and came in, he saw Jiang Lan smiling at her phone. She pointed at him with a smile and said, "You've gone from a cold, aloof god to a gentle husband in a relationship. If the women who used to chase after you saw you like this, they would be heartbroken."

Jiang Lan didn't reply, her smile fading, and asked him, "Have you made up your mind?"

"It's decided, we won't go public." Liu Zhen smiled wryly. "I'm also a little unsure about how much control I'll have over the company after going public. Let's take it one step at a time and proceed cautiously."

Jiang Lan bumped fists with him: "Then let's make a deal, and work together to run the business well."

"Good brother."

The two discussed the company's future plans again when there was another knock on the office door.

"Enter."

Chen Hui, Guo Haitao, and several key members who remained from the initial startup walked in: "General Manager Liu, General Manager Lan, what will our company be like from now on..."

Liu Zhen raised his hand to press down, pointed to the sofa, and everyone sat down, saying, "It's been decided just now, we won't go public. Everyone can focus on your work."

I then shared the plans that I had just discussed and finalized with Jiang Lan with them, and everyone started a heated discussion.

After saying that, Guo Haitao suggested that everyone go out for drinks and get together that night.

Liu Zhen shook his head: "You guys go ahead, my wife is pregnant, I have to go home after get off work."

Jiang Lan waved his hand and said, "No time." He really was busy; he had to go home and make pigeon soup after work.

The soup Xiaoming made with the pigeon and the ingredients he brought back last time was really good. He'll make more of it for Xiaoming in the future, and of course, he'll also make some for himself.

Soon it was Wenhui's wedding day. Jiang Lan finished work on Friday, picked up Xiaoming, and rushed to catch a plane to a provincial capital city in Central China.

Xiaoming went to university in Kyoto. After graduation, he returned to the south. Wenhui followed in her boyfriend's footsteps and returned to her hometown, the provincial capital, to work hard. One of her two roommates stayed in Kyoto, and the other had settled in another country.

After getting off the plane and walking to the terminal exit, she saw Wen Hui waving at her from afar, bouncing around.

Xiao Ming also raised his hand and waved, letting go of Jiang Lan who was dragging her suitcase. He quickly walked over and hugged Wen Hui, looking her up and down: "She really is going to be a bride, she's getting more and more beautiful."

Wen Hui was a cute-looking girl. After hearing Xiao Ming's words, she covered her mouth and laughed, "Really?"

"real."

Xiao Ming turned around and pulled Jiang Lan over to introduce her to them: "This is my fiancé, Jiang Lan." He then held up his palm and gestured towards Wen Hui.

Jiang Lan smiled and replied, "I know, tomorrow's bride is Wen Hui, and the groom is Tang Jindong."

"When Wenhui talked to me about Xiaoming, she was always curious about what kind of boy would be Xiaoming's girlfriend in the future. Today I finally saw it." "That's right, but I didn't expect Xiaoming to be so lucky with girls."

Xiao Ming rolled his eyes: "You, who started feeding us dog food during college military training, have no right to say I'm lucky with women. How many years have you been enjoying your luck with women?"

Tang Jindong has a refined and elegant appearance, so it's true that Wen Hui is enjoying a life of romance.

Wen Hui hugged Tang Jindong's arm and smiled sweetly: "Shall we go get some late-night snacks together?"

Xiao Ming shook his head: "I've already eaten the airplane food. It's very late now, you guys should go back. I'll talk to you about it tomorrow."

Wenhui's wedding is on Sunday. All the details need to be finalized by Saturday, and the wedding will also have a rehearsal. Xiaoming went to watch the rehearsal. The two on the stage were repeatedly reading their speeches. He asked Jiang Lan, "After hearing it so many times, will you still be moved when it officially happens tomorrow?"

"I think so. If two people are in love, they will be moved no matter how many times they listen to it."
