A City Hospital
Sheng Tingzhu held a compass in his hand, his brows furrowed tightly.
The compass needle spun frantically, but still couldn't find a clear direction.
"strangeness..."
He muttered to himself, "The yin energy is so strong, why can't I see a single ghost?"
Gu Shulan impatiently put away the copper coins and said, "Big Brother, did you see it wrong? This area is very clean, not even a wandering soul."
"I think it's just that the Supernatural Bureau is making a fuss and making a mistake in the investigation."
Chu Xiaoxuan held a lollipop in her mouth and said vaguely:
"But... the yin energy here is really heavy..."
Chen Lingfeng stood aside, also holding a compass in his hand, his brows slightly furrowed:
"Master, we've already lost several agents here..."
"Also, logically speaking, this level of Yin Qi should have at least a few A-level ones..."
Sheng Tingzhu glanced at him and asked, "Team Leader Chen also knows the mystical arts?"
Chen Lingfeng smiled bitterly, "I only know the basics. My colleagues in the bureau all have their own specialties, and they naturally know the mystical arts, but they can't compare to the three masters."
Gu Shulan sneered, "Your Supernatural Bureau doesn't even have a decent occultist right now, and you still dare to claim to know occult techniques?"
Chen Lingfeng clenched his fists and did not respond.
Sheng Tingzhu put away the compass, his expression solemn: "This is strange.
The yin energy is so strong, yet there are no ghosts. There are only two possibilities."
Chu Xiaoxuan blinked: "Which two?"
“Or, someone has set up a large formation here to trap all the ghosts.
Or..." Sheng Tingzhu paused.
"Someone had already liberated all the ghosts before we arrived."
Gu Shulan sneered: "Exorcism?"
"With these half-baked mystic masters now? There's a high chance they'll be scattered by the ghosts!"
Chen Lingfeng couldn't help but interrupt: "Master Gu, although the Xuanmen is in a period of transition now, it's not that bad..."
"Not really?" Gu Shulan interrupted him.
"How come you're such a big bureau, but you can't even handle an A-rank mission?"
Sheng Tingzhu coughed lightly: "Shulan, stop talking nonsense!"
Gu Shulan curled her lips and stopped talking.
Chu Xiaoxuan pointed in a direction and suddenly said, "Let's go over there and take a look."
The place she was referring to was the 'morgue'
The four of them came to the morgue, and the moment they pushed open the door, a biting coldness hit them.
Chu Xiaoxuan walked towards a wall, and her hand slowly touched it, but it was burned.
"ah."
The three of them heard her voice and turned to look in her direction.
She withdrew her burned hand and pointed to the wall to show them:
There is a faint golden rune there.
Sheng Tingzhu carefully identified it: "This is... I don't even recognize it."
Gu Shulan came over to take a look and said, "It's crooked and awkward. It's obvious that he's an amateur."
Sheng Tingzhu shook his head: "No, although this talisman is poorly drawn, it is full of spiritual power. It is obvious that it was made by a master of the mystical arts."
"Yes, even with that little bit left, I got burned."
Chu Xiaoxuan muttered as she looked at the scars on her hands.
Sheng Tingzhu looked solemn: "It seems that we really underestimated the mystic masters in City A."
Chen Lingfeng frowned: "Three masters, how about... we stay in City A and investigate thoroughly?"
"Alright, this matter is of great importance. We really need to find out the truth and report back to the sect!"
Gu Shulan snorted coldly: "I want to see who has such great ability."
"Second Senior Sister, don't be embarrassed when you see people..."
"you..."
Sheng Tingzhu interrupted them: "Okay, let's find a place to stay first and start investigating tomorrow."
--
It was a dark night, and Jiang Muyao sat cross-legged on the terrace of the villa, surrounded by a faint golden light.
She closed her eyes and concentrated, feeling the spiritual energy in her body. This trip to the hospital was quite rewarding.
Thinking of the mystic masters who were as powerful as her that the ghosts mentioned, it seemed that there were many capable people in this era. She couldn't be too comfortable, as her path to ascension was still a long way off.
"What are you thinking about?" Pei Linyuan's voice came from behind.
Jiang Muyao didn't look back: "How's the investigation going on with the hospital?"
Pei Linyuan walked to her side, handed her a document, and said in a low voice:
"Preliminary investigation results: This hospital is behind a massive organ trafficking network involving multiple provinces and cities."
Jiang Muyao looked through the documents and frowned slightly: "So many victims..."
Pei Linyuan looked at her slightly wrinkled brows and unconsciously raised his hand to smooth her brows.
Jiang Muyao noticed his movements and looked up at him with a hint of doubt in her eyes:
"What's wrong?"
Pei Linyuan withdrew his hand and coughed lightly: "How do you plan to investigate?"
Jiang Muyao closed the file and said firmly, "You continue to investigate yours, and I'll investigate mine. I'll deal with the mystic behind this."
"Be careful." Pei Linyuan's eyes were filled with worry.
Jiang Muyao chuckled, with a hint of pride in her eyes: "Don't worry."
[Don't worry, I'm the number one genius in Xuanmen after all. I'm only one step away from ascending...]
[How could a little Karami come out and kill me! ]
When Pei Linyuan heard her thoughts, the corners of his mouth rose slightly, and there was a doting look in his eyes that he had not even noticed.
He suddenly took a step forward, and the distance between them instantly closed, so close that they could feel each other's breath...
Jiang Muyao was stunned for a moment and subconsciously stepped back, but Pei Linyuan put his arm around her waist.
