Chapter 31 Welcome to Hell, Newcomers

"Let me formally introduce ourselves. We are Pang Feng and Yu Shou, the second instructors for this new recruit training! For the next two months, the three of you will be primarily under our supervision!"

In the woods, the two instructors briefly introduced themselves.

The two had names that were easy to remember and fitting for the occasion: the short, stout one's surname was Pang, and the tall, thin one's surname was Yu.

Pang Feng was responsible for unfolding the forbidden 065 "Virtual Realm," while Yu Shou was responsible for using the forbidden 059 "Dreamer" to conjure up various mysteries within the Virtual Realm.

Although their forbidden sequences are not very high, they complement each other perfectly, and when they work together, they can unleash extraordinary combat power.

...

Half an hour later, deep inside the mountainside, Pang Feng and Yu Shou, along with Chi Chen and the other two, finally arrived at the training ground for the new recruits of the Secret Slaying Bureau.

What appeared to be a rugged mountainside had been transformed into a vast open space, with several simple bungalows lined up along one side.

"Pang Feng, why are you so slow? We're almost done with your turn!"

Halfway up the mountain, an instructor led two exhausted-looking young men to Chi Chen and the others.

"Yeah! Something came up on the way and I was delayed!"

Upon hearing this, Pang Feng naturally wouldn't tell the truth, and said with a slightly evasive look in his eyes.

"Something came up and kept you waiting? Surely you don't have to be back so late? Besides, what could possibly be wrong here?"

The instructor looked at the three people, including Chi Chen, behind Pang Feng with a suspicious expression.

"Hmm? Why do those two kids look so energetic? Only one of them seems out of sorts?"

Seeing this, the instructor became even more puzzled. Could it be that Pang Feng and Yu Shou had gone easy on him last night?

Why does one of the newcomers look so exhausted? Did that kid offend Pang Feng and his group and is being deliberately targeted?

"Could there be something fishy about those two kids?"

The instructor had a guess in his mind, thinking that Lin Bai and Xiang Ming must be extraordinary, otherwise how could they still have such full bodies? Could it be that Pang Feng and Yu Shou hadn't managed to suppress these two kids?

This piqued the instructor's interest in Xiang Ming and Lin Bai.

However, the instructor guessed correctly, but not entirely. The reason why Pang Feng and Yu Shou didn't return home all night was not because of the energetic Lin Bai and Xiang Ming, but because of the listless Chi Chen.

"All instructors, take your new recruits and assemble at the front immediately. You have ten minutes. You know what the consequences will be if anyone is late!"

Just as the instructor was looking at Chi Chen and the other two with suspicion, trying to discern something from their faces, a very loud voice came from the lamas' quarters on the square.

"Holy crap! Let's get going, guys!"

Upon hearing that voice, the instructor shuddered instantly and immediately led his new recruits forward.

Although the two new recruits were sore all over and didn't want to move, they thought about what happened last night and the instructor's reaction, so they didn't dare to slack off in the slightest and quickly gritted their teeth and followed.

"What happened?"

Seeing this, Chi Chen and the other two all looked at Pang Feng and his companion with puzzled eyes. Why did the entire square suddenly become noisy as soon as that voice came out?

Over at the bungalows, many instructors were herding the new recruits who were still resting inside out of the houses like ducks. Some of them were even kicked in the buttocks by the instructors and then ran away on their hops.

It's one thing if they're just new recruits, but even the instructors are running around with tense expressions on their faces.

"Let's hurry up and leave! You'll see later! From now on, whenever you hear this voice, if you're sleeping, you have to get up immediately; if you're eating, throw down your bowl; if you're taking a dump, you have to stop and go to the place he designated at the specified time. Believe me, newcomers, you don't want to know what the consequences of disobeying him are!"

Pang Feng left a message for Chi Chen and the other two, and then quickly ran towards the designated location.

Seeing the chaotic square, Chi Chen and the other two quickly followed. Since Pang Feng had said so, they naturally dared not stay in place any longer.

Ten minutes later, nearly two hundred new recruits gathered in front of a high platform in the square, led by their respective instructors.

On the high platform, three people quietly watched the more than two hundred people below.

Standing at the very front was a burly man wearing a military cap and special forces uniform.

Beneath the brim of his hat, a pair of sharp eyes swept across the crowd below. Those whose eyes met his gaze, whether new recruits or instructors, unconsciously straightened their backs. The instructors, in particular, stood ramrod straight, as if afraid that the man would find something wrong with them.

"Such a strong sense of pressure, is this what they call an aura?"

When those sharp eyes swept over Chi Chen, Chi Chen felt a chill. Chi Chen was certain that the burly man did not emit the slightest fluctuation of spiritual power; he had already made them feel a great deal of pressure just by looking at his eyes.

This kind of aura is not something that ordinary people can possess.

"New recruits, today is the first day of your intensive training. On behalf of all the instructors, I would like to extend my greetings to you. For the next two months, you will be living with them in this mountain. I believe that after last night, you have already established a good relationship with your instructors!"

The burly man spoke, and his voice reached everyone's ears; he was the same voice from the loudspeaker.

A good relationship?

Upon hearing this, most of the newcomers in the audience looked somewhat uncomfortable.

If he's referring to the fact that they were mentally and physically exhausted by the instructors last night, and might even have developed psychological trauma, then they have indeed developed some feelings for each other, but whether those feelings are positive or not is another matter.

In fact, most of the newcomers on the field did not agree with what the instructors did to them last night. They were all forbidden ability users who came here to receive training and learn the techniques to kill mysterious beings, not to be teased by the instructors.

The burly man took in the expressions of everyone below and continued calmly:

"Next, let me introduce myself. I am the head instructor for this new recruit training, named Cheng Hu. You will gradually get to know me, and I will gradually get to know you. So, new recruits, welcome to your hell!"

Cheng Hu looked at the crowd below, a smile suddenly appearing on his lips.

"hell?"

When the newlyweds below heard this word, they were all stunned for a moment. What did it mean?

The instructors' expressions also changed; they all looked somewhat uneasy. This hell wasn't just for these new recruits; if they weren't careful, they could be dragged in too.

"Why did this living devil have to be the head instructor this time?!"

The instructors below were also thinking to themselves, "This guy hasn't come out for a long time, why did he suddenly show up this time?"

"Chi Chen, I'm a little scared!"

Lin Bai whispered to Chi Chen, feeling that Cheng Hu was truly terrifying.

Chi Chen frowned as well. These two months would probably be even harder than the days he spent in the training room in the basement of the fried chicken shop.

"How could it be him!"

Xiang Ming looked at the burly figure on the stage, his lips trembling slightly. He knew far more than Chi Chen and the other two.

Upon hearing the name Cheng Hu, Xiang Ming felt a chill run down his spine.

Because this is the person who trained the current Commander-in-Chief of the Great Xia War Zone. Of course, there is also that blue-faced demon, Zhang Rong.

Isn't this just a new recruit training session?

How did you manage to get this person here?

In the arena, the other newcomers who knew about Cheng Hu's deeds also frowned. This was different from what they had been told before they came here. If they had known it was this person, they would have postponed their participation in the next newcomer training camp!

"I'll let it slide this time since it's your first time and you don't know the rules. But from now on, you need to be absolutely quiet when I'm speaking. Even your breathing has to be slow. If I see you whispering downstairs again, you'll have to bear the consequences yourselves!"

Cheng Hu seemed to wait a while on purpose before speaking.

After Cheng Hu spoke, although many of the new recruits below were dissatisfied, they still held back from discussing it in hushed tones.

Only the instructors' expressions changed, realizing they were in trouble; how could they have forgotten to tell these new recruits about this?

Sure enough, the next second, a smile appeared on Cheng Hu's face. He seemed very kind, but what he said made the newcomers underground feel even more dissatisfied.

"Very good, it seems my words still carry weight. So, as a reward for your obedience, from now on, you will make ten round trips from the foot of the mountain to the summit. No forbidden abilities are allowed. If you don't finish before dark, you won't get dinner!"

After Cheng Hu finished speaking, there was initial silence on the ground, followed by several disgruntled voices:

"Why should we? We were exhausted last night and haven't recovered yet. Ten rounds, and we can't even use forbidden techniques? Are you trying to kill us with exhaustion?"

"That's right, we're here to learn and improve our ability to kill mystical beings, not to be tortured!"

"If you have sadistic tendencies, go kill the mystical. Why use them on us?"

As several voices rang out, more than twenty voices echoed them. Most of them came from well-off families and had never suffered much hardship before. They certainly wouldn't want to be tormented like this.

Moreover, since they awakened their forbidden abilities and gained power beyond that of ordinary people, they inevitably felt a sense of superiority. Now that they are being treated this way, they are naturally very resentful.

As those voices appeared, the instructors in front of them all felt a chill run down their spines; these were words that couldn't be spoken!

"oh?"

Sure enough, the next second, Cheng Hu's eyes narrowed slightly as he precisely scanned those who had spoken.

Then, a powerful mental pressure instantly descended upon the twenty-odd people.

"!!!"

In an instant, the twenty-odd people were slammed to the ground and pinned down, unable to move.

"puff!"

The next second, the twenty-odd people simultaneously coughed up a mouthful of blood, their condition rapidly deteriorating.

Where is my spiritual strength?

"My taboo has disappeared?"

"What right do you have to do this?"

"I was wrong, please give me back my taboo!"

On the field, more than twenty panicked and angry voices rang out instantly; they were panicked, truly panicked.

But the only response they received was Cheng Hu's cold, unwavering voice.

"Now, you have lost your qualification to enter the Secret Bureau. Since you don't want to stay, then go home and enjoy life!"

After doing all this, Cheng Hu's expression remained unchanged. He simply uttered a sentence, and then someone appeared and pulled the twenty-odd people off the ground and carried them away.

No matter how much they yelled, Cheng Hu never looked at them again, nor did he offer any further explanation.

Then, Cheng Hu looked at the others and said:

"Now, does anyone still want to speak?"

His response was absolute silence. As he had said before, the newcomers were even forcibly suppressing their breathing, afraid that they would offend him by breathing too loudly.

That's domineering, so domineering!

Cheng Hu's actions towards these newcomers went far beyond a mere show of force; it was practically a knife to their throats.

"Since no one objects, shall we begin?"

Upon seeing this, Cheng Hu immediately revealed a satisfied smile.

"Newcomers, if you want to eat, get running!"

On the field, as the instructors roared, the remaining less than two hundred new recruits instantly sprang into action, running towards the foot of the mountain like ants emerging from a nest.

They never expected that the first twenty-odd people would be eliminated like this, and that Cheng Hu seemed to be able to remove their forbidden abilities.

This is unheard of!
