18 Cave 02 ‖ Second Game
After all, Old Man Li is old and not as strong as young people. If he encounters any danger, the consequences will be unimaginable.
Old man Li comforted Yan Shuang, "It's okay. I've seen a lot of ups and downs at my age."
"Let's take better care of them." Lin Haichen turned around and said to Yan Shuang before he could take off his white coat.
"We are just standing here wasting time. Don't we know how valuable my time is?" A short man in his forties with a big belly, wearing a suit and a burgundy tie, which made his neck look very short, shouted.
"You, and you, let me out now." As he spoke, the fat all over his body trembled.
"Not everyone is here yet." Jing Ning said lightly.
"Who is missing? Who are you?" the man was furious.
"What are you howling about? You're the only one with the loudest voice." A short-haired woman raised her eyelids and gave the other person a cold look. "You look like a snow frog."
As he was speaking, two more people appeared on the path. They were originally holding each other's hands intimately, but now they were both in a panic.
The two men finally came to their senses. They looked at the crowd in front of them in surprise, their eyes revealing a hint of confusion and bewilderment. The man held the girl's shoulders tightly and walked over carefully. His voice was filled with confusion: "Where...is this place?"
Just as the two walked onto the flat ground, a thin layer of fog appeared at the originally covered entrance of the cave, making the scene inside blurry.
As they approached, the fog gradually dissipated and a cool breeze blew, giving them goose bumps.
Several old people knew that this was the signal that everyone had arrived and the game had begun.
Ten people.
The newlyweds were still confused by the sudden cold wind.
"Liu Hu, go ask them what's going on!" The last couple to arrive, the girlfriend's voice was panicked and tearful.
"What's going on! Hey! It's all these guys' fault!" The fat man was still holding his breath, and now he finally found a breakthrough.
Lin Haichen stood beside Yan Shuang and sighed softly. He said in a very low voice, "It's time for the most difficult question-and-answer session for newcomers."
"Is it like this every time?" Yan Shuang remembered the beginning of the last game, it seemed to be similar.
"That's about right. Few people can be as calm as you when entering the game for the first time. You are an exception." Lin Hai said solemnly.
Yan Shuang: I was actually quite panicked inside as well.
Lin Haichen patiently explained the rules of the game to the newcomers, while Yan Shuang looked into the dark cave.
"The visibility in this cave is too low." Yan Shuang said.
Jing Ning: "Do you have your cell phone with you?"
Yan Shuang quickly reached into her pocket and said, "I have it."
Jing Ning nodded and said, "Save some electricity, it might be useful later."
As soon as he finished speaking, the fat man behind him roared: "What kind of game is this? If you want to lie, at least make up a decent story. I won't believe you until I see you wearing a medical uniform." Obviously, Lin Haichen's words were beyond his understanding.
"Believe it or not, I don't know how you got here." The short-haired woman said disdainfully.
Then, she extended her hand to Lin Haichen and said, "Hello, my name is Tian Yiyi."
Lin Haichen was obviously stunned. Another newcomer who accepted so quickly. Are young people nowadays so easy to accept new things?
Lin Haichen came to his senses and said his name.
Others also introduced themselves one after another. The girl in the couple was called Ye Qi and the boy was called Liu Hu. The other man had a blue face and looked like he would faint at any time. His name was Chen Jingru.
"Xiao Shuang, is the game that this young man talked about true?" Old man Li asked Yan Shuang suspiciously, his weather-beaten face full of confusion and puzzlement.
Yan Shuang nodded slightly and made a "hmm" sound as light as a mosquito, and it was not known whether Old Man Li heard it clearly.
"The only way is to go into the cave." Jing Ning said, "Let's go."
Yan Shuang nodded.
According to Jing Ning, the difficulty of the game will gradually increase. Last time there were only seven people, and this time three more people were added. You can imagine how difficult it is.
Yan Shuang looked up and estimated the cave entrance to be about 80 meters high. They seemed to be in a corner forgotten by nature. Aside from the relatively flat ground beneath their feet, the surrounding area was filled with towering, majestic peaks. These peaks appeared and disappeared in the thick white fog, like mysterious giants lurking within.
Off to the side, a narrow path winds its way, accompanied by the sound of rushing water that resounds throughout the valley. The water rushes down, creating countless splashes, and the water droplets splash into the air, forming crystal-clear curtains that blend with the surrounding hazy mist to create a dreamlike scene.
Jing Ning walked in front, carefully observing the surroundings, while Yan Shuang followed closely behind, supporting Old Man Li.
As soon as we walked a little further inside, we saw a sharp contrast with the sunny weather outside the cave.
"The temperature will only get lower the further you go in." Jing Ning looked away.
Obviously this was very bad news. The entrance to the cave was only about ten degrees, and no one could tell how deep it was. Yan Shuang looked around and saw that everyone was wearing thin clothes and their faces were green.
Yan Shuang ran away without saying a word.
After a while, he came back with a pile of hay in his hand and two branches in his other hand.
"Brother, can you lend me a light?" Yan Shuang said calmly to the portly man in front of him. However, the fat man glared at him fiercely, his face as ferocious as a demon's, a disgusting sneer hanging from the corner of his mouth. He opened his mouth, revealing a mouthful of burnt, uneven teeth.
"No!" the fat man roared, his voice deafening, filled with undisguised hostility and contempt. "Even if I have fire, why should I lend it to you? Who do you think you are?"
Faced with such a rude and disrespectful response, Yan Shuang didn't even bother to raise her head, and continued to concentrate on the hay in her hands.
At this moment, a clear and pleasant voice suddenly rang out: "Here, for you." Tian Yiyi appeared beside him at some point. She was holding a delicate and small lighter in her hand, shaking it gently, motioning to Yan Shuang.
After hearing the voice, Yan Shuang finally stopped what he was doing, slowly raised his head and said, "Thank you." Then he reached out to take the lighter.
Soon, a thick smoke rose and flames followed. Yan Shuang threw two pieces of wood he had picked up into the fire, intending to make a simple torch.
It can both keep away the cold and provide lighting.
A few minutes later, Jing Ning calmly picked up the burning wood and walked into the cave.
The other one was held by Lin Haichen, "I'll cover the rear."
