Chapter Fifty-Nine: The Soul Returns to the Body

Li Zhi threw another talisman at the spirit. As soon as the talisman touched her body, the spirit screamed in pain. Her body was burned with holes, and unable to endure the torment, she cried out for mercy:

"Master, Master, spare me! I'll tell you everything. I have a senior brother who uses tattoos to steal the yang energy from living people, but he travels all over the world and I don't know where he went."

Only then did Li Zhizhi stop torturing her. He immediately unleashed a Soul-Destroying Spell. The woman let out a howl as her entire soul was enveloped by the talisman. Her soul then burned fiercely in the flames until it turned to ashes, her soul scattered and gone...

However, a bead was left on the ground. Li Zhiyi picked it up and put it into his bundle.

Although no one could see the physical form of the soul at this moment, the fearful plea for mercy of the strange woman reached everyone's ears.

"Sister-in-law, has that soul left?"

"Yes, his soul has been completely destroyed."

At this moment, everyone came in from outside. Chen Zhihe quickly ran to the bedside to see his daughter, who was still fast asleep.

"Miss Li, why hasn't my daughter woken up yet?"

"Yes, your daughter's body has been parasitized, and her own soul has been frightened away. We'll go find her soul now, and once it returns to her body, everything will be fine."

As he spoke, Li Zhiyi immediately took out a piece of yellow paper, tore it into the shape of a little person, and then wrote Chen Ketian's birth date and time on it.

"Chen, Ms. Wu, both of you, smear the blood from your fingertips onto this paper figure." This method of finding the soul is the most accurate, and it is most effective for souls that have been frightened away from their original bodies.

Because Chen Ketian was still a young girl, Li Zhiyi was worried that she would be scared and dare not come back with him. He used the blood of her biological parents as a guide so that her soul would be at ease to follow him.

Without hesitation, the couple picked up the fruit knife from the table, cut their fingers, and dripped the juice onto the paper figure.

As soon as Li Zhi uttered the incantation, the paper figure immediately floated out of the house, a strange scene that left everyone dumbfounded.

Li Zhiyi said, "You all stay here and watch over Miss Chen. I'll be right back." After saying that, Li Zhiyi quickly left the room.

Following the paper figure, which floated to the Chen family's back garden, Li Zhiyi sensed Chen Ketian's spirit there as he passed through the garden. He walked a short distance further and found an old well.

She asked softly, "Is this Tian Tian? Your mom and dad are waiting for you at home. Come with me."

Chen Ketian's soul slowly emerged from the bottom of the well and appeared in front of Li Zhiyi. Looking at the paper figure, she felt the presence of her parents, which made her feel at ease, but she still asked warily, "Who are you?"

"I'm a friend of your parents. Don't worry, the soul that was parasitizing you is gone. You're out of danger."

Chen Ketian exclaimed excitedly, "Are you serious? How did you know there was a soul parasitizing my belly?" She hadn't even told her mother about this because she was afraid her mother would blame her. It was all her fault for believing her friend's words, which led to the soul being parasitized.

She desperately wanted to return to her body, but she couldn't get close to it. The spirit was too ferocious, and she was afraid of being killed by it, so she hid at the bottom of the well in her backyard.

"Yes, yes, I was asked by your parents to rescue you. Come with me."

Chen Ketian looked at the talisman in front of her and tried touching it. The talisman didn't harm her, and it even carried the scents of her parents. Only then did she believe Li Zhiyi's words and follow him back to her room.

Everyone saw Li Zhi return alone. Just as they were about to speak, Li Zhi waved his hand and all the lights went out, plunging the entire room into darkness.

Wu Huiying was so frightened that she shouted loudly to her husband, "Honey, honey, is the power out?"

"It's alright, your daughter is back."

There was a moment of silence in the space. Everyone knew what those words meant, but no one could see them. Gu Nianzhi said anxiously, "Sister-in-law, I also want to see what a soul looks like. Sister-in-law, can you hear me?"

Li Zhi pointed at the Bagua mirror on the door, and everyone's expression changed. This Bagua mirror was originally hung here to prevent other wandering spirits from targeting Chen Ketian, but unexpectedly it came in handy here.

Everyone saw Chen Ketian's soul drifting towards her body. Wu Huiying, who was standing next to Chen Ketian, saw this and exclaimed excitedly, "Daughter, is it really you?"

"Mom, Mom, I'm home."

"Good child, hurry back into your body."

Chen Ketian turned around and glanced at her father. Instead of expecting him to be angry, she saw tears glistening in his eyes.

"Daughter, go back quickly." Chen Zhihe's voice was hoarse. He had neglected his daughter before, and only realized how much he cherished her after losing her. He vowed to spend more time with and educate his daughter from now on.

Chen Ketian floated above her body, glanced back at everyone, said thank you to Li Zhiyi, and then entered her own body.

At this moment, the lights came back on, and everyone looked at Li Zhiyi differently. If they were still half-believing before, they were now truly convinced!

"Mom, Dad... what happened to me?" Chen Ketian woke up, but looked completely bewildered, as if she had no recollection of what had happened before.

Wu Huiying was startled and turned to Li Zhiyi, asking, "Miss Li, has my daughter lost her memory?"

"Some things are better left unremembered than remembered."

Chen Zhihe, being such a smart person, immediately understood that Miss Li had helped her daughter erase this frightening memory.

Finally, with Wu Huiying's sincere gratitude, Li Zhiyi accepted a set of gold jewelry as a gift from Ms. Wu. Wu Huiying had noticed a gold hairpin in Li Zhiyi's hair and that's why she thought of giving him a set of gold jewelry as a token of her thanks.

Li Zhiyi was very pleased. The gold jewelry looked quite old, and he liked both its texture and style. "Thank you, Ms. Wu."

"Oh, Miss Li, it's my husband and I who should be saying thank you. You saved our daughter, and we hope you won't find this small token of our appreciation too much!"

Li Zhi smiled calmly. It was only natural to accept a gift from someone who had helped him out of trouble, so he accepted it without any qualms.

"Sister-in-law, shall we go back to the hotel now?"
