Chapter Forty-Four: Possessed by Evil

Gu Siye walked to the middle of the cemetery and did not feel anything.

"Move a little to the left."

"Step back a little more, that's enough, just stand there and don't move," Li Zhi instructed Gu Siye.

This scene surprised Fu Yanche. Gu Siye had always been a very opinionated person since he was a child, and no one could ask him to do anything. Now, seeing Miss Li making him work like a servant, and Gu Siye not noticing at all, Fu Yanche knew that this guy had fallen in love.

Li Zhiyi walked to Gu Siye's side and stood there.

The tombstone in the center of her tomb is made of pure black marble, and you can vaguely see her own reflection on it. Strangely, there is nothing on the tombstone, no photo or epitaph.

At this moment, Fu Yanche and Chen Zhihe, very curious, walked over. When they saw the tombstone, Chen Zhihe realized that he only saw his own shadow on it, even though Fu Yanche was right next to him. He was curious and wanted to get closer to see clearly, but Li Zhiyi stopped him.

"Get away from here."

Chen Zhihe and Fu Yanche were no longer curious about the empty tombstone. Although it was strange, it wasn't uncommon for people to buy tombstones and burial plots in advance so they would have a place to rest when they died. Some people even bought coffins or crystal coffins for themselves in advance.

Li Zhiyi wandered around the vast cemetery. Most of the photos on the tombstones were of Thai people, and the writing was in Thai, which she couldn't understand. There were only a few tombstones of Chinese people.

She stopped beside a woman's tombstone, then knelt down. She saw a photograph of a Chinese woman on the tombstone, with inscriptions in Chinese. The inscription on the right read: "Tomb of Zhao Meihua: September 21, 1967."

On the left is written: Daughter Zhao Xining bows.

Seeing Li Zhiyi staring blankly at the tombstone, Gu Siye asked curiously, "Is there something wrong with this tombstone?"

"Probably not." It's just that I don't know why Zhao Meihua's tombstone doesn't have the date of her death written on it.

The cemetery was so big that Li Zhi suddenly remembered Gu Nianzhi. He looked back but didn't see her, nor did he see her in front of him.

"Nianzhi, Nianzhi?" Li Zhi called out twice, but no one responded.

It was only then that everyone realized that Gu Nianzhi had disappeared from their sight sometime during the day, which startled them. Although it was broad daylight, the place was gloomy and even the wind blowing was chilly.

Gu Siye hurriedly took out his phone to call his sister, but there was no signal at all. Their phones were rendered useless at that moment.

“Let’s go find Nianzhi. Fu Yanche, do you still have your good luck charm? Here, take this. You two go over there and take a look. I’ll go back and look for it.”

Chen Zhihe held the amulet that Li Zhiyi had given him tightly in his hand. He had lived in Thailand for quite some time and knew a lot about these things. Although he had never bought a Buddhist amulet, he believed in these supernatural matters.

Fu Yanche and Chen Zhihe hurriedly passed through the tombstone and walked forward together.

Gu Siye wondered why he never received his own safety charm, but he still didn't ask the question in his heart. Finding his sister was the most important thing right now! Seeing Li Zhi go back to find Gu Nianzhi, he followed along, feeling very worried about his sister's safety and regretting that he hadn't kept a close eye on her.

At this moment, Li Zhi asked Gu Siye, "Wasn't Nianzhi with you the whole time? When was the last time you two were apart?"

"Just now, when you asked me to stand in the middle of the tombstone, she was still behind me." Gu Siye only realized something was wrong when he thought back. His sister always liked to be with Li Zhiyi, but since when did she start following him around at a leisurely pace?

By the way, she hasn't spoken since she worshipped that big Buddha statue.

However, he was unsure whether this was related to his sister's disappearance. He looked up at the Buddha statue, which seemed to be looking down at him. For some reason, he saw mockery in the Buddha's eyes.

Li Zhiyi said angrily, "I told you to go find Zhiyi, what are you standing here for?" How can this person be so indifferent? His own sister is missing and he's still acting all high and mighty!

Gu Siye hesitated, as if he wanted to say something but then stopped.

"What do you want to say? Stop dawdling, bro. It's dangerous here."

"I just paid homage to this large Buddha statue."

"What? Why didn't you say so sooner?" Li Zhiyi never expected such a blunder to happen.

Gu Siye thought to himself, "You didn't even ask me."

"Call Fu Yanche quickly and tell them to stop looking. I know what happened."

Li Zhiyi took out a talisman, cut out a small paper figure, bit his finger to draw blood, and smeared the blood onto the paper figure. The paper figure immediately stood up in Li Zhiyi's hand.

A gust of wind blew, and the paper figure fluttered away...

When Fu Yanche and Chen Zhihe returned, they saw Li Zhiyi standing there, staring at the large Buddha statue. Fu Yanche followed Li Zhiyi's gaze.

After looking at it for a while, he felt extremely dizzy. He shook his head and stopped looking at the Buddha statue, then asked Chen Zhihe, who was standing next to him, "Mr. Chen, why do I feel this Buddha statue is so eerie?"

"How so?"

"Didn't you notice how scary the Buddha statue's eyes are? And it's like its eyes are following you."

Chen Zhihe also sensed this discovery, but he thought he was mistaken. However, after hearing Fu Yanche mention it, he felt a chill run down his spine! His hair stood on end—it was eerie! Extremely eerie!!!

"You, you're scaring me..." Even though he's a big boss, he's afraid of dying! Could this Buddha statue be something bad?

As the two were chatting, they saw Li Zhiyi and Gu Siye walk to the right, so they quickly followed.

Gu Siye asked anxiously, "Did you find anything?"

"Hmm, do you think this is Nianzhi's hair clip?"

Gu Siye took it and saw that the hair clip was an exclusive design by Gu Nianzhi herself, inlaid with rubies, and could not be bought on the market at all. "Yes, this is Nianzhi's. Is my sister in any danger?"

At this moment, Gu Siye could no longer maintain his aloof persona. He shouted loudly at the hillside, "Nianzhi, Nianzhi, where are you?"

His voice echoed through the valley, but no one answered his calls.

Gu Siye was terrified that something had happened to his sister, and he couldn't imagine how he would face this cruel reality.

He and his younger sister depended on each other since childhood. After their father remarried, he rarely cared about them. Although his sister had a bad temper, she was simple-minded, kind, and lovely.

What to do? What to do? For the first time, the usually composed Gu Siye felt incredibly panicked!

"Miss Li, please, you must save my sister."
