Do you remember xxx?

Do you remember xxx?

After evening study, Zhou Qianling did not leave immediately, but sat in front of the podium and showed a student a composition.

Half an hour had passed since the lecture. Zhou Qianling stood up and found the class representative standing under the podium, wondering how long he had been waiting.

"Aren't you going back to the dormitory yet? Both sisters are so studious." Zhou Qianling sighed.

The class representative's sister was a student from the previous year and was also taught by her.

The girl shook her head and asked carefully, "Teacher, I heard that the guy who blackmailed me is in jail?"

Zhou Qianling paused and shook his head. "I'll be released after just one day. If they threaten you again, you must tell your teachers and parents, okay?"

"Then he..." She glanced at Zhou Qianling again, lowered her head and hummed, "Goodbye, teacher."

"Okay, go back and be safe."

After leaving the school gate, Zhou Qianling took out his cell phone and took a look at it.

There were not many messages, and a few of them were sent by Zhou Fang, asking when her boyfriend would be back.

Zhou Qianling's mind flashed with the image of Wu Meilai.

He seems to be a lot tougher than before, but his complexion doesn't look very good and he has heavy dark circles under his eyes.

When a video call came, Zhou Qianling hung up and replied: I can't come back. I offended the local gang and was thrown into the sea to feed the fish.

mom:……

Zhou Qianling exited the chat box and saw in the residents’ group that there was a power outage. After hesitating for a moment, he headed to the snack street.

When she passed the police station that night, she had already guessed that the mutton noodle stall she had seen before was where Wu Mei came from.

Could it be that he came to Yanzhou just for me?

Zhou Qianling did not go deep into the snack street, but just ordered a bowl of wontons on the street.

While waiting for her meal, she couldn't help but look into the street. Many students were surrounding the mutton noodle stall. Wu Meilai was grabbing, cooking, stirring and serving the food in an orderly manner without any sign of rushing.

When handing the powder to her, Wu Meilai looked up at the street corner and met her eyes.

Zhou Qianling casually glanced at the turkey noodle stand to his right, then went over and bought one. He didn't even glance back until he left the snack street.

After being held in custody for a week, Jiang Chunmei finally changed out of her prison uniform and saw the light of day again...

As soon as he walked out of the detention center gate, he was stopped by two men in uniform.

"Are you Jiang Chunmei?"

"yes."

"We're from the Criminal Investigation Division of the Yanzhou Public Security Bureau," she said, pulling out her ID. "We received a report from the city that several male bodies were found on the beach this morning. The deceased were all students from the XX Technical College, and they had a conflict with you a few days ago."

Jiang Chunmei looked puzzled: "I was just released."

"I know, we just need you to come with us and cooperate with the investigation."

Just like that, Jiang Chunmei got into the police car again.

When we arrived at the Public Security Bureau, Zhou Qianling, Wu Meilai and the deceased's family were all there.

Before Jiang Chunmei could ask anything, she was wheeled toward the interrogation room. At the door, the class monitor emerged with red eyes and dove headfirst into her mother's arms, clearly frightened by the scene.

Jiang Chunmei calmed down and stepped in. The serious and oppressive atmosphere this time was completely different from before.

The slides showed photos of the crime scene. Two bodies were floating face down in the water, and three were washed ashore. The bodies did not show any obvious swelling, indicating that they had died not long ago.

"You knew the deceased, didn't you?"

"know."

Jiang Chunmei answered everything in detail. Since she had been in detention before the incident, the questioning was just routine and ended soon.

Before leaving, the police officer asked, "Do you think anyone would kill these male students out of anger for you?"

Jiang Chunmei laughed. "Officer, stop joking. I have no mother or father, and the only ones who care about me are my elderly grandparents. Maybe these boys fell into the sea while speeding in the middle of the night."

What she said was not impossible. A damaged motorcycle was indeed found dozens of meters away from the crime scene, but there were no signs of a traffic accident on the road near the sea, and no traces of these people were found after checking the surveillance cameras of all sections of the road.

There was nothing unusual about the several deceased people the night before, but they all disappeared behind the surveillance blind spot...

When Jiang Chunmei returned to the hall, several wailing family members saw her and started shouting, "You killed my son," and tried to hit her, but were stopped by the police on duty.

Zhou Qianling and his companions all had alibis, and were released after twelve hours.

At the entrance to the hall, I could still hear several people shouting, "We can't let them go back! Give my son justice!"

Jiang Chunmei chuckled and turned around to shout, "It would be fair if the bastard died."

Zhou Qianling held her back and said disapprovingly, "Do you still want to spend a few more days in jail for provoking disturbances?"

Jiang Chunmei snorted twice and said nothing more.

When they arrived at the platform, Jiang Chunmei got on the train and left, leaving only Wu Meilai and Zhou Qianling.

The apartments they lived in were in the same direction.

There was a long waiting chair, and the two of them sat at each end in tacit understanding.

After a long while, Zhou Qianling suddenly spoke up: "There have been a lot of murders around here this year. It's best to move somewhere else. If you don't have money, I can lend you some."

Wu Meilai was originally thinking of a topic to talk about, but when she heard this, her throat tightened and she couldn't speak. She could only respond with a low "hmm".

The bus stopped, Zhou Qianling took a look, stood up and walked to the door.

Wu Meilai also stood up.

"This is for my mother's house."

"Oh." Wu Meilai sat back down, feeling a sore sensation on the tip of her nose.

--

Because of the police summons, the school gave Zhou Qianling a day off. In order to avoid the embarrassment of riding in the same car with Wu Meilai, she decided to go home on the spur of the moment.

Both old people were at home. When Zhou's father saw his daughter come back, he happily went into the kitchen and planned to cook himself.

Zhou Fang was sitting on the sofa, reading a book with her reading glasses. When she heard the daughter's voice, she closed the book with joy in her eyes.

"Why did you come back so suddenly?"

Zhou Qianling sat next to her, explained in a few words, and said, "So I came to see you."

Zhou Fang really missed her daughter. She took her hand and patted the back of her hand: "This year has been really eventful. Alas, I'm really worried about you being out there alone."

Zhou Qianling guessed that her next sentence would be urging her to get married. Since returning from Qianzhou, Zhou Fang began to frequently urge her to find a boyfriend as soon as possible.

"Don't even think about asking Kong Ge to translate. It's dangerous to be separated from him. I think the sons of some of my old colleagues are doing well. You can talk to them when you have time."

Zhou Qianling frowned.

Father Zhou brought a plate of fruit to the mother and daughter and scolded them, "The children have finally come back, don't say these things. Xiaoling, eat the fruit and don't worry about your mother." After that, he went into the kitchen to check on the soup.

"Dad, stop working."

"Your dad just can't sit still." Zhou Fang said with a smile, "Are you going back tonight? Your dad cleans your room every day, so you can stay there anytime."

"No, I have classes tomorrow morning."

Before dinner started, Zhou Fang asked, "Are you feeling okay?"

"Don't worry, I'm fine."

After dinner, Zhou Qianling chatted with the two elders for a while and then went home.

In the car, Zhou Qianling received a message from Jiang Chunmei: "Do you remember xxx? I was chatting with a junior high school classmate today. I heard he died. It seems he offended someone in the underworld [starry eyes] and died a miserable death."

Zhou Qianling leaned back in his chair and chuckled: Congratulations, you're relieved.

Jiang Chunmei: It’s “we”

Jiang Chunmei: But you should hate me more [crying]

Zhou Qianling didn't reply, turned off the screen and looked out the window.
