Chapter 25: The appearance of Chief Mori and Black Time Overlord...

Chapter 25: The appearance of Chief Mori and Black Time Overlord...

In the extremely luxurious villa hall, I lazily leaned back on the expensive sofa, sipping juice. The giant screen TV in front of me was playing cartoons suitable for young children, which was quite boring. However, since I was even more bored now, I only glanced at it intermittently. I yawned twice during the process, feeling a little sleepy.

It's normal to feel sleepy. I haven't closed my eyes for more than ten hours since I left Mr. Fukuzawa's house at midnight yesterday, and it's almost dark now.

During this time, I subtly obtained information about the human trafficking organization by beating up several members of the organization; I single-handedly infiltrated the organization to treat and rescue the trafficked people; I used the money obtained from the organization to buy the best-selling comic books, game discs, toys, snacks, and other things that interested me; I then put them all into the villa of the human trafficking organization leader that I occupied; and finally, I waited for the Port Mafia to come and invite me to work for them.

Why aren't they here yet? I'm about to fall asleep!

I yawned again, not worried at all that Mori Ougai wouldn't take the bait.

You see, last night when I rescued those kidnapped people, I used medical ninjutsu to heal several people who were beaten to the point of near death while trying to escape. One of them, who was made an example of, was not only chopped into a human stick, but his eyes were also gouged out—it was truly horrific. Fortunately, I arrived in time and used Creation Rebirth Modified to restore his eyes and limbs. I guess you could call it a little advertising for my job search.

By the way, because that human trafficking organization was so brutal that it angered me, I beat all the members present to the point of being paralyzed and unable to stand up for the rest of their lives. That's how I vented my anger.

Therefore, people really shouldn't do bad things, otherwise retribution will come and you won't be able to stop it.

Just look at the villainous bosses who were defeated by the protagonist. Even the final boss met such an end, not to mention those insignificant cannon fodder villains, who might be punished by the protagonist's friends with the iron fist of justice at any time.

I put my drink aside and picked up a bag of potato chips, crunching away. The tomato flavor was pretty good; I'll buy Ranpo a few bags next time I go back. And Yoriichi too—though he doesn't eat snacks much, kids always like these. As for Fukuzawa-sensei, he probably doesn't like these puffed snacks; it'd be better to give him some traditional sweets.

I was still pondering this in my mind when a polite knock came at the door. I immediately sat up straight and tensed up.

It wasn't that I was nervous about Mori Ōgai's arrival, but rather that I was worried it was Fukuzawa-sensei. I was afraid that before I even had a chance to start working for the Port Mafia, he would grab me by the scruff of my neck and drag me home.

Using my chakra to sense the situation, thankfully, the villa was already surrounded by a group of people, so it wasn't Fukuzawa-sensei. Thank goodness, I was really worried that Fukuzawa-sensei would use Ranpo's deductive abilities to find me before Mori Ougai, but it seems the Port Mafia was one step ahead.

Naturally, I didn't go to open the door, so after the knock, I heard the sound of the lock being pried open. Then the villa door was pushed open, and Mori Ougai, dressed in a black trench coat and a red scarf, walked in with an air of elite sophistication. With his subordinates, also dressed in black, standing outside, he exuded a strong boss aura, completely devoid of the decadent and useless feeling that I had when we last met.

Glancing at Dazai Osamu, Ozaki Kouyou, Hirotsu Ryūrō, and the others guarding the door, I was certain that Mori Ōgai truly valued me. He had brought out all his resources just to successfully bring me back to the Port Mafia.

"Song-chan!" Alice, dressed in a little red dress, ran happily towards me, holding up the fancy cake in her hand like a treasure to show me. "Let's eat cake together! This is my favorite cake! Let's eat it all, leaving not a single bite for Rintaro!"

Before I could even respond, Mori Ougai said, quite indulgently, about his superpower, "Alice-chan, you can only eat cake after I finish talking to Uta-chan!"

"Hmph, I hate Rintaro the most!" Alice puffed out her cheeks in a very cute way, casually put the cake aside, sat on the sofa, and took my arm, saying, "Let's ignore Rintaro, he's the most annoying person."

I still like Alice quite a bit. It's not like the last time when I was in a hurry to escape with Yoriichi. I wanted to join the Port Mafia, so I wasn't too concerned about the rather dangerous situation of having my arm grabbed. Firstly, I was confident that I could control Alice, and secondly, Mori Ougai came to invite me to join, not to make an enemy of me. As long as I didn't firmly refuse to join the Port Mafia, he wouldn't let Alice ambush me.

Speaking of which, Alice, who was sitting next to me, was quite soft. I couldn't resist gently pinching her little cheek, and it felt really good, just like a real person.

Alice giggled and reached out to pinch my cheek. I naturally refused, but because she was holding my arm, I couldn't break free without using force, so I was eventually successfully pinched.

Although the little girl pinching my cheek was soft and fragrant, the thought that she actually had some kind of lolicon superpower made me want to slap my past self from half a minute ago.

If Mori Ougai dared to pinch my face like that, I could punch him into the ICU. But with Alice, it's nothing. She's just so cute, a completely tsundere and lively little girl. Even knowing she was created by some lolicon, I can't treat her like I would a scumbag doctor.

"Okay, stop pinching my cheeks, they're all red."

I tried to toughen myself up, but Alice pinched me again, then looked at me with curiosity and said, "Uta-chan looks a lot different now. Her hair is completely blonde, and her eyes are blue, just like mine!"

"I have my reasons," I said. Before I could finish, Mori Ougai, deeply moved, said, "Uta-chan and Alice-chan look like sisters! Just thinking about taking you two shopping for dresses together makes me so happy!"

The thought of this scumbag boss's perverse hobby of changing clothes for young girls sent a chill down my spine. I immediately snapped at him, "Who wants to go with you to buy little dresses? And what are you even doing here?"

"I'm just curious about why Uta-chan left Lord Fukuzawa. I hope Uta-chan doesn't dislike me."

"If I said you weren't welcome, would you leave with your people?"

"Won't."

"Then why are you talking so much nonsense? I'm only not kicking you out because of Alice. Don't disturb my TV watching."

I glanced at the TV, which was still playing children's cartoons. I didn't intend to reveal the reason for my departure, otherwise it would seem fake. It was better to let Mori Ōgai discover my true identity on his own.

Anyway, there were comic books, game discs, high-end toys, and all kinds of snacks all around. Anyone who glanced at them would assume that I liked them. In fact, I did like them quite a bit. So I had a reason to leave: because Fukuzawa-sensei couldn't meet my material needs, I ran away from home to get these things myself.

Clearly, Mori Ougai also had this suspicion, and he looked at me with a smile and said, "Uta-chan is really a child. She caused quite a stir among the many gangs in Yokohama for these worthless things. Who would have thought that someone who wiped out three gangs in one night would be watching a children's program here?"

A soft laugh came from the doorway. I turned my head to look over there, and sure enough, no one but Dazai Osamu could laugh out loud in this kind of situation.
