Three days later, Jiraiya and the others recovered from their injuries and began their return to Konoha.

He didn't want Naruto's life trajectory to change because of him.

Orochimaru thought of Jiraiya, who had powerful ninjutsu right in front of him but couldn't learn it, and laughed.
